When he’s not busy making the world laugh and cringe with his comedy, Ricky Gervais is a champion for all creatures great and small. The staunch animal campaigner uses his Instagram to urge his followers to adopt rescues, a cause he promotes with lots of cute dog photos.

Lauren Conrad
In between the many lovely and aspirational photos populating Lauren Conrad’s lifestyle-themed Instagram are plenty of pics of her dogs. “Never go to the animal shelter ‘just to look.’ It never ends that way,” she laughed on IG last year, shortly before introducing her puppy Fitz (below), who she adopted from a high-kill shelter. Fitz joined big sister Chloe, a 6-year-old lab mix. In April, the former reality star couldn’t resist adding a new rescue puppy to her bowwow brood.
