Bonding with Your Dog

If you love camping with your dog, this is for you! Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina, 4 Paws Kingdom is the first and only dog dedicated campground in the US. They exclusively cater to canines and their adult companions and they’ve truly created a doggie kingdom.

In addition to RV sites, you can rent cabins, trailers and even yurts that fit up to four dogs. Because they cater exclusively to dogs and their companions, there’s no shortage of fun. Activities include:

Songs around the campfire

If you’re going to camp with your dog, you definitely want to sing with your dog.

8 off-leash dog parks

You read that right—they have a total of eight dog parks where your dog can roam, roll, and play with friends.

We captured some our smaller guests enjoying the Tiny Dog Park. This is only 1 of 8 off-leash parks for our guests. Always a good time watching them explore. ??. #dogpark #tinydogs #pet #dogsofinstagram

A private swimming pond

For the retrievers and their pals… What better place to get muddy?

And an agility park

In addition to all the off-leash play areas, the campground features a legit agility park for dogs with moves.

We recently spent a couple of days with friends at @4pawskingdomcampground ! It is a dog-focused camping retreat designed specifically for our pups! Here, Piper tries out their lure course that they offered to run that day. Piper is so calm and docile, that we just KNEW she would have no interest in such an event. Boy, were we SO wrong! She turned into something we had never seen before, when the mechanized “rabbit” started zipping around the field! She totally converted to black and white land shark mode, with one thing on her mind…ripping around that field in full chase of the plastic bag “rabbit”! We’ve never seen her move that fast. She was a little speed monster! They highly recommend that she try some speed events, and she is now slated to try her paw at FastCAT (like a 100-yard dash) and CAT (Coursing Ability Test) later this year. We are also pondering Flyball, due to her size and speed. Has anyone ever participated in one of these competitions? Please be sure to check out 4 Paws Kingdom Campground, if you have ever thought about camping/glamping in or around western North Carolina with your dog(s)! The owners are wonderful people, and they offer and host many events throughout the year here. You won’t be disappointed! You can get more info at: 4pawskingdom.com
