Adoptable Cat Is so Big He Literally Broke the Internet

For Cat People

An impressively large tabby cat named Beejay aka Big Boi aka Mr. B gained so much attention when the Morris Animal Refuge in Philadelphia, PA posted his photo on social media that the sheer number of adoption applications being filled out at once brought down their website for some time.

He C H O N K

Just how big is the 2-year-old Mr. B? According to Morris, he weighs in at an impressively chonktastic 26 pounds on the richter scale. See the chart below:

Scientific chart of cat sizes

I do believe the technical term for his size is "Oh Lawd He Comin". Could still be a "Megachonker" but would have to see a profile pic. pic.twitter.com/DHP1KiXCkg

Before Mr. B can go home to one of his adoring fans, Morris will be working with vets to ensure he has no underlying concerns (beyond needing to lose a couple of pounds).

People are clamoring to adopt the big boi

As of last Saturday, Morris had whittled down the overwhelming number of potential adopters to just a few experienced families and told CBS he should be in his new home this week.

Congrats Mr. B!

Large cat lovers shared their own photos, stories, and advice to the future family of Mr. B.

UPDATE: Mr. B is now in a foster home

Sweet chunky Mr. B’s amazed by the huge outpawing of interest in him – over 3000 applications! He has a foster (maybe forever) home now – but so many other great adoptable cats need you. Here’s a thread of ours. Let’s make it go viral too. Adopt and RT for Mr. B and all the cats! pic.twitter.com/063Mtk0qTP

Morris posted recently that Mr. B is in a foster home that would like to adopt him permanently. Congratulations! Click on the tweet to see other wonderful cats looking for homes too.
