Maybe. Under specific circumstances, your vet may prescribe your dog a low dose of Imodium to treat diarrhea. However, this decision should only be made under your vet’s care and supervision. Do not attempt to give your dog Imodium without your vet’s guidance, and be aware that Imodium is only appropriate for certain dogs in certain instances.
Herding breeds and dogs with existing medical conditions should not take Imodium, nor should puppies or senior dogs. Your vet will also need to determine the cause of your pet’s diarrhea to know whether Imodium is the best course of treatment.
