They say “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” When it comes to blurry photos of dogs, it’s really true. So open up your photo app. What may seem like yet another dud in your photostream might be treasure-worthy—at least according to this subreddit.
Enter the Blurry Pictures of Dogs subreddit. This Reddit site has capitalized on the endless amounts of blurry dog photos pet owners are carrying around and it’s kind of wonderful.
Why Blurry Photos?
Blurry photos are the result of high-speed motion at the time of the camera snap, and it creates an amusing illusion of impossible speed. So when we look at a photo of a dog running and it happens to be blurry? Suddenly your pet is an Olympic sprinter! A photo of a dog leaping towards your face in a blur? Bursting with excitement! It’s like applying comic book rules to the real world. Pretty neat, huh?
