In the market for a new dog toy? We present the humble hedgehog for your consideration. Hedgehog dog toys are too cute for words and ready to play with your pup no matter the time of day.

Because they naturally look so cuddly (despite the quills), these toys are primarily plush-based, although there are a few alternatives if your pet can’t help but destroy fluffy friends.

Ready for a dog toy so cute you’ll want to keep it for yourself? These are the best hedgehog dog toys available now.

Top 6 Hedgehog Dog Toys

Dizzy Hedgehog Squeaky Dog Toy (Verified Review)

Plush Dizzy Hedgehog Dog Toy

Instead of stuffing, this dog toy has an extra durable rubber squeaky ball hidden inside its plush shell. As the manufacturers explain, dogs have an innate desire to “destroy and annihilate their toys” and a mess can result from overstuffed plush toys.

Our tester’s Pit Bull put it to the test and loved it:

Verified Review: “My power chewer loved it! Looks sturdier than a tennis ball, and I like that the eyes and nose are stitched in and not removable pieces. Ball is non-toxic and there’s no stuffing to deal with. It has a bright squeak, but the outer cover kept her focused on ripping instead of crushing the ball in her jaws. It was just the right size to hold steady in her paws while she tore and ripped at the outer cloth cover. Did not take long to reach the ball. Within 15–20 minutes, she had about .25 of the ball exposed. However, cloth cover holds together pretty well, in spite of a determined chewer. I would love to give her a Dizzy Hedgehog every few months.”

This fluffy toy has plentiful faux fur to mimic a hedgehog’s quills. It also has a squeaker to get your pet’s attention; it’s great for medium to large dogs. Buy one or spring for the two-pack.

Outward Hound Hide-A-Hedgie Squeaky Puzzle Dog Toy

For pets who love puzzles as much as they love to play. A log look-alike plush toy hides away hedgehogs using an attached lid. The hedgehogs themselves have “invincible” squeakers and can be played with on their own once removed from the log, too. Best for medium to large dogs, or little dogs who like to tackle a challenge.
