Going on vacation and leaving your dog behind is never an easy thing to do. It is difficult to convince yourself that it is fair to gallivant with friends and family while your four-legged best friend might be living in a sub-optimal, maybe even unpleasant, situation. This feeling of dread, well known to most dog owners, is one of the main reasons that we started the Rover network. We wanted to find a way for dog owners to go on vacation and feel deserving of their time off, instead of feeling guilty that their vacation was being enjoyed at the expense of their pooch.
Finding a great dog sitter, whether the person comes to your own home or hosts your pup in their home, is one of the best ways to relieve those feelings of guilt while you are on vacation. Imagine if you could be confident that your pooch was on his or her own vacation, perhaps in a social situation at a home with another dog, a suburban, fenced-in backyard with an adoring gaggle of children, or as a much needed, much cherished companion to a doting couple? Dogs are happiest when they are loved, and have someone to love back; our job at Rover is simply to help you to find that caring dog sitter in an efficient, hassle-free way.
Though your dog, and you, will always be happiest when the two of you are together, we hope that Rover will help you both to find the next best thing when that is not possible: a dog sitter who loves and cherishes your pooch as if they were their own. If we do our job right and help you to find that sitter, you will achieve the piece of mind necessary to enjoy your vacation – stress and guilt free!
