“Bethani has really gone above and beyond what I was expecting! She brought the trash cans in from the road and sent updates on my animals that live outside, both things not asked for but appreciated. I trust her completely and my cat loves her!”

“Britton was wonderful! She took great care of the animals, and went the extra mile to make our timid cat comfortable. Her communication was fantastic as well, I would highly recommend her!”

“Katelyn did a great job with feeding our cats while we were away for few days. She kept me informed on things and sent pics, which I loved! I highly recommend Katelyn as your furbaby sitter/caregiver while away.”

I can medicate animals if needed and I promise to always treat your pet as if they were my own. I will help keep them stress free and not worrying about where their owner is. I make things like nothing has changed. I love meeting new pets of all kinds. I'm more than happy to come to your home and make your pets feel safe and keep them as comfortable as possible while your away I work from home which gives me more flexibility to pop in and spend time with your pet so they don't feel lonely. My routine is keeping their routine as normal for them as possible. I want them to be able to adjust to me being there with them but be like nothing has changed when the owners come back home.
“Emily was wonderful and took good care of my kitties. She went above and beyond when one of my cats threw up on my comforter. I told her to just place it in the washing machine and that I'd wash it when I returned. Out of habit she washed and dried it, which was nice to come home to.”

“Samantha did a great job checking in on our cat, Louie. On a previous vacation, he came to a cat with a UTI because the person we hired (not through Rover.com) did not clean his box properly. Samantha kept us up to date on how Louie was doing and kept his boxes clean. We came home from vacation to a happy and healthy cat. I will definitely use Samantha again!”

“I really really appreciated the communication and pictures! Brittany was great with being responsive and giving updates. She played and hung out with our kitty and took care of him great. Thank you!”

About: I have had the wonderful opportunity to spend time with many dogs of so many breeds and can’t see myself stopping! There such loving animals. I’m currently working full time and will have plenty of time to play with the Dogs. I can even take them to work with me! I have a wide open back yard and plenty of room for dogs to run. I live on a small farm with a few other animals. I’m a very trustworthy person. I’m also a kennel technician/Dog trainer so I spend time with dogs almost every day.

Neighbors, friends, and family have trusted me time and time again to care for their pets like they’re my own. I’m confident, calm, and genuinely passionate about animals of every shape and size. Whether it's daily check-ins, walks, or extended stays, I make sure every animal I care for feels safe, loved, and well looked after. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or my client’s home, I prioritize comfort, safety, and consistency. I treat every pet like family, following their routines closely—whether that’s feeding schedules, walks, medications, or playtime. Since I work with high-profile clients, I understand the importance of trust, privacy, and professionalism. I keep spaces clean, calm, and pet-friendly, and I always ensure pets feel secure and loved while their owners are away.
“Sydnie is a life saver! I asked for her help at last minute ages she immediately was happy to take care of my senior dog, she is trusted and a person I will definitely consider for the future”

About: I have been a dog lover my entire life. I am known as the dog whisperer. It' is rumored amongst pets of the existence of a dog petter who has the most loving energy. Many dogs only believe it to be legend. It is a real live person. It is me the dog whisperer. I have experience walking, administering meds through mouth and providing exercise and treats. There is no pet to big or small. I love them all. I have a rather flexible schedule due to working online. Only times I am not available when traveling for business as host for a travel group. I care for pets to the instructions of the pet owner. I know most dogs that are properly cared for require a lot of attention and prefer to be in the company of someone. I enjoy the company and love to give quality time to dogs. Such as playing fetch tug a war or long walks.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
