“Amanda has watched my five dogs on two separate occasions! Both times she provided the most exceptional communication with me, and left the dogs happy and tired from lots of play time. She’s a champion for even agreeing to watch five dogs! But on the second time she agreed to dog sit for me, she encountered a really sudden and unexpected medical situation and ultimately the loss of one of my dogs due to something completely out of her control; she was so proactive in recognizing something wasn’t right, took steps to call a vet and seek advice, and contacted me to keep me updated. Ultimately, he passed a couple hours later, but I was just so grateful for her thoughtfulness, deep compassion, professionalism, and overall care during a really stressful and sad situation for her and I both - especially since I was out of town and couldn’t immediately get home. About: I have ample room and time to love on your fur babies!! I currently do not have any dogs but love them all! I also have a basement with a separate gate if your pet needs space by itself. I live close to the mountains so if you want to take the day to hike/explore sperryville I am your go to:) I work from home and love my animals!! I am fortunate to have the flexibility to take care of my farm animals and others when needed. I own a small farm with plenty of space for walking and also have a fenced in garden than I can use during the colder months for secure play for dogs.

About: I've cared for puppies, poodles, a parakeet, pretty black labs, and purrrfect kitties. I loved them all like they were my family. Would love to do the same for you. I'm currently semi- retired so I will have time to take your fur babies for a walk and interact with them. They will be happy when you get home! I'm a stickler for making sure your pet pal has water, food, and treats. I can bath your pet if needed. Walking your pet will not be hurried, so your pet can stop and smell the roses, or whatever dogs like to smell. Oh I will always bring doggie bags to clean up.

I have four dogs myself, all sizes. We have a frenchie, a black lab, a golden retriever, and a pit bull! I recently lost my beloved shihtzu, who I miss so much. I love all dogs any shape and size! I have done hours at a vet office for vet tech school, although I was accepted I wasn't able to afford it, so I thought Rover would be a fun part time job where I could still be hanging out with dogs and other animals. I truly care about the well being of your animals and I am very passionate about animals getting the care and attention they deserve. I will take care of your animals the same way I take care of my own fur babies! I have a fully finished basement so if your dog is nervous around bigger dogs or doesn’t like playing, I hang out separately with them down there if needed! If I come to your home, I will make sure your animals are let out, fed, walked if needed and of course (most importantly) get some lovin’s and snuggles while I’m there! :) I update every client I have had with photos and videos of their animal(s)!

About: I have 10 years experience in veterinary medicine, general practice and emergency. Special needs dogs welcomed!! I will treat your babies as if they are my own! At the moment I am home full time with my children and my own pets. My schedule is open for the remainder of the summer. I have five acres of UNFENCED property. Dogs with good recall are welcome to play/free roam if approved by owner. Otherwise dogs are walked on a leash by myself. All pets are given food/treats under direct supervision as a precaution.

About: I am a professional animal behaviorist an animal trainer. I've trained dogs, cats, wolves, dolphins, birds and more. I trained my first dog when I was 10 years old in 1984. I began training animals and providing pet care professionally in 1998. I have been an animal behaviorist for 5 years and hold a master's degree in clinical animal behavior. Anyone who tells you they can train your dog or fix any issues on just their walks with your pet is pulling your leg. What I can do, is care for your pet in your absence and work with you on any training and behavioral issues your pet may have. I have fairly open availability for drop ins and dog walks. I don't provide overnight care or boarding. Special arrangements can be made if you require training or behavioral assistance. I rely on the pet guardian's guidance in what routine their animals are comfortable with. I relay solely on positive reinforcement based training. I don't work with shock, pinch, prong, spray, or vibrate collars. As a professional in this field for over a decade, I highly recommend against retractable leashes for the mechanical failure and safety issues they cause. Feel free to look up images of the injuries they cause. Be warned, some are fairly graphic.

I currently work for the National Park Service as a Park Ranger at Shenandoah National Park. As a Park Ranger I often interact with dogs on park trails. Before or after work I would love to take care of your animals and bring comfort of mind that your animal would be well cared for. I ensure that pets are well taken care of by providing a safe, healthy environment with proper nutrition and regular exercise, as well as preventative medical care.

About: I grew up with several pets and have had several of my own. I currently have a Bor-doodle dog who is service trained. My family used to train and groom dogs so I’m educated on that as well! I do mentoring for children part-time at the moment. But I do make my own schedule and can fit it around all of your pets needs! I care for pets by feeding them, walking them, taking them on hikes, and making sure they get the attention they need while their owner is gone whether that is in home or in my own home!
