“Aly was so communicative and took extra care to interact and snuggle with our cats. We really appreciated her willingness to sit for us last minute and enjoyed our trip knowing she was updating us with pictures of her sleepovers with our girls and Pookie. She was able to administer insulin for our diabetic cat and ensure her dietary needs were met. We were so lucky to find her!”

“Corrinna did a wonderful job caring for our cat while we were away this week. Coming home, it was clear that our cat had been well cared for, happy to see us, but relaxed and content, which tells us all of her needs were met while we were gone. It gave us great peace of mind knowing our pet was in such good hands. We truly appreciate Corrinna’s care, reliability, and attention, and we would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter!”

“Amber was incredible with my cat, Gus! She stayed with him while I was gone for a few days and sent me pictures every day! I would 100% have her stay with him again, in fact, I even referred her to my family. So that should tell you something!!”

“Payten was amazing. She got great pictures of my cats. Even the outside community cats were coming to see her. My foster kittens were a challenge and ahe handled it beautifully.”

About: I have had the honor of having dogs my entire life. Recently, helped my daughter potty training her rescue puppies. They have become the protectors of my grandchildren. As an Empty Nester, I enjoy the simple things in life and would love to offer my services for walks during the early mornings and evenings. Additionally, if you need overnight care, I can provide that service in your home upon request. Currently, I do not have pets in my home, as I do not have a fenced yard that would allow them to safely play and enjoy outdoor activities.
About: I am a dependable and compassionate pet caregiver with hands-on experience caring for dogs and other household pets. I understand that every animal has its own personality and needs, so I take the time to build trust while providing attentive, personalized care. My experience includes feeding, walking, administering medications when needed, cleaning up after pets, providing companionship, and maintaining consistent routines to help them feel comfortable and secure. I am proud of my commitment to treating every pet like family. I pay close attention to behavior, energy levels, and overall well-being so I can quickly notice any changes that may need attention. I communicate regularly with pet owners, provide updates and photos, and always strive to give them peace of mind while they’re away. I am patient, reliable, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. Whether caring for energetic puppies, senior pets, or shy animals that need extra patience, I provide loving, responsible care that keeps pets happy, healthy, and safe. I work from home with generous breaks. While my schedule is 9-5, I wake early to go on walks in my neighborhood, and my work day includes 1.5 hours of breaks. After work is much like “before work”. A pet would work perfectly in this schedule I have a 3 story townhome and garage! I recently installed a fence! I will keep the pet entertained with fetch, and other stimulating games and puzzles
“Natalie is fantastic! Very communicative and I could tell from the questions she asked that she was going to provide great care to my cats on her drop-in visit. Everything went smoothly and I will definitely rebook!”

“She was amazing. We were out of the country and could relax because her communication was superb. She sent updates and pictures. I am very happy we found someone so reliable and wonderful for the future.”

Please include in your opening message a date that would work to schedule a meet with me, as I do require one before confirmation of each booking! At my home I pooper scooper my yard once a week, though I carry bags when I leave my residence. I now free feed my animals, though I used to be on a twice a day feeding schedule. I also bathe them when needed. My dogs are VERY high maintenance and need exercise and lots of play which we do all the time and they LOVE tug of war (I have 4 dogs at one home with me and 4 at my other. About: Hi! My name is Kat, but I get it if that’s a dirty word in your house. I’ve been lucky to grow up with dogs of all levels; Huskies, Mastiffs, Pugs, etc. I started watching friends, family, and neighbors pets in 2019 and in 2021 I rescued my beautiful Cane Corso! I love all animals and can be trusted to treat your fur-baby with the upmost care and attention. I’m very active so I’m happy to play/hike/walk all day, I’ve even roller-skated with a pup. As I mentioned, I have a rescued giant breed. With her being a tougher rescue she has taught me how to handle almost any situation. She is reactive on walks so I’ve done training to continue to get her exercise with as much ease as possible. That being said, I can handle most dogs at all levels, no matter the size. Currently, I work 3 evenings a week with open daytime availability. I can drop in or take your pup for a walk anytime during the day and most evenings. I exercise often and go on lots of walks through the day, so if you have a high energy dog it’s no challenge for me. I wait a bit between exercise and feeding but I will prepare the food exactly how you and your pup prefer. I’m comfortable with crating and have done crate training.

About: Hi, I’m Ashley! I provide attentive, reliable care for your four-legged family members. Whether your pet needs an afternoon stroll, engaging yard playtime, a gentle drop-in visit, or quiet companionship while you’re away, I ensure they feel safe, engaged, and well cared for. My Background & Experience I’ve shared my home with cats my entire life and currently care for two beloved felines of my own. Two of my family's cats were diabetic, giving me hands-on experience administering feline insulin. I understand subtle body language, strict feeding schedules, and how to help reserved pets feel at ease. When it comes to dogs, meeting neighborhood pups while out on my daily delivery routes is always the highlight of my day—I always keep treats on hand to make fast friends! My hands-on dog experience includes: Playful walks & companionship: Great with friendly, moderately active dogs who enjoy neighborhood strolls, interactive playtime (fetch or gentle tug), and backyard sniff sessions. Senior dog fostering: Fostered an older pup through the Humane Society, providing patient, medication-aware care suited to a relaxed pace. Sitting for friends & neighbors: Experienced handling reliable feeding routines, potty breaks, and check-ins. Midday flexibility: Operating as an independent courier allows me to easily accommodate midday walk breaks and playtime drop-ins during prime work hours. What You Can Expect Safety & Respect: I always confirm dietary restrictions before offering treats and adhere strictly to your leash, feeding, and house rules. Clear Communication: Photo and status updates with every visit so you know your pet is happy and secure. Grounded, Caring Energy: Attentive company for friendly dogs and a gentle, quiet presence for cats. I’d love to schedule a meet-and-greet to see if we’re a great match! I am an independent contractor and online student, which means I don't work a rigid 9-to-5 desk job. My schedule allows me to quickly adjust to your pet’s routine—whether you need regular mid-day potty breaks while you're at work, evening visits, or flexible weekend care. I focus solely on drop-in visits and walks at your home, keeping stress low for your pets. I respect your home's security, follow your exact feeding and care instructions, and practice careful door awareness so indoor cats and pups never slip out. Your pet receives my undivided care and attention.
About: People that know me best would tell you I'm the person at a party who's hanging with the family dog. I've had dogs for as long as I can remember and currently have two fur babies (Nala and Kovu). I work from home full time & have a flexible schedule, reliable transportation and a desire to help others give their pets more schedule freedom. Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
