“Our dogs think of Tim as a “fun uncle”, rules are still in place but walks are a little (or a lot) longer, and different routes than normal. Tim is great at giving updates on what is going on, asks questions if he is unsure of what the daily routine is, and really cares for Lloyd and Rosie. Leaving the dogs at home when we travel comes with a bit of guilt, but knowing they are in Tim’s capable hands makes it much easier. We highly recommend Tim as a dog sitter.”

About: I’ve grown up caring for animals my entire life and have experience with dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, and many different personalities and energy levels. I’ve also spent time living on a farm, which taught me how to responsibly care for animals and understand their individual needs. I previously ran my own dog-walking, training, and pet-sitting business for several years, giving me hands-on experience with exercise, basic training, feeding, playtime, and providing pets with plenty of attention and companionship. I’m comfortable caring for pets in their own homes and understand how important it is for them to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I’m also a proud pet parent to three cats and a puppy of my own, so I understand firsthand how much love, attention, patience, and care pets deserve every day. My own pets are truly family, and I treat every animal I care for with that same level of love and attention. I’m currently self-employed, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to dedicate plenty of time to caring for your pets. I’m able to work around your pet’s routine and accommodate walks, drop-ins, sitting, and boarding depending on your needs. I’m happy to discuss scheduling in advance and make sure your pets receive consistent care and attention while you’re away. I prioritize creating a safe, comfortable, and stress-free environment for every pet in my care. I follow each owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, medications if needed, exercise routines, and any special needs. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets and your home, so I treat every animal with patience, respect, and the same care I would give my own pets.

About: I have always enjoyed spending my time with animals. I got my first dog when I was in elementary school - sadly he recently passed away - but since coming to college I have been missing my sweet fur baby. Being able to play with and care for someone else's pet while also earning extra cash would be an ideal job experience for me. Getting a new pet really isn’t an option for me right now. With all the free time on my hands, and I would love to get the chance to spend it walking and playing with your fur babies! In the past, I have dog sat for other friends and family and I really enjoyed it and having the extra company is always a plus!

About: I’ve been around dogs since I was a child and owned a few so nothing really intimidates me about any dog or cat. But personally, I do love cats more. They’re just much more my personality. At the moment, I honestly do not have that much time but if I do have an open day, it’ll be on the weekends and I can move things around pretty flexibly Building trust with any living thing takes time and willingness to meet bumps in the road. I’m committed to making sure your pet and your space are well respected and taken care of.

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Finally, a sitter we trust with Aria! We have a hard time leaving Aria with anyone, so handing her over for the weekend was a big step. From the moment we met April, we could tell our sweet girl was in good hands. Aria was happy, relaxed, and well cared for the entire time. April kept us updated without overdoing it, which was the perfect balance. We got the reassurance we needed and were free to relax and actually enjoy our weekend. She went above and beyond, too. She even cleaned up after herself and left our home in better shape than she found it. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare. We'll absolutely be using April again and again, and we're already recommending her to friends and family. If you're nervous about leaving your pup, don't be. Highly, highly recommend!”

About: I have had pets since I was 4 years old. Growing up on a farm, I learned to take care of animals from a very young age. Additionally, I spent a lot of my high school years pet sitting for neighbors, family friends, and friends of friends! I have had many dogs of many different breeds and ages. I tend to be an active person, so walking and playing with my pets to ensure their exercise is something I prioritize. I’m very good at adapting to pets different personalities and making them as comfortable as possible. I work 5 days a week but on a hybrid schedule- 3 days in office, 2 days working from home. My hours are 9-3, so I have plenty of time during the week to love on your pet! Additionally, my weekends are free. Though I do not have any pets currently, I have an apartment with plenty of room, outside space, and live directly across from a huge, gated dog park— which is friendly to all sizes of dogs. Additionally, I live right next to tons of walking trails, perfect for those pets who love their walks! If your pup is needing to be crated, I can easily make that happen, as well as anything else your pet needs!

About: I grew up around dogs and have always had a love for caring for them. While I haven’t been able to have a dog of my own due to occasional travel for work and family, Rover has been the perfect way for me to stay connected to what I love most (caring for pets). I have hands-on experience caring for dogs, including raising and training my family’s cockapoo in obedience and showing her at the county fair for several years. I’ve also dog sat for friends, family, and neighbors, including sweet senior dogs who need a little extra attention. I’m comfortable with feeding routines, walks, playtime, and making sure each pup feels safe, happy, and cared for while you’re away. I genuinely enjoy getting to know each dog’s personality and making their day a little brighter. ⭐️ Unfortunately, I’m only able to board and do doggy day care for low-shedding/hypoallergenic dogs due to allergies in the home. ⭐️ I work fully remote, which means I’m home and available throughout the day to give your furry friend lots of walks, attention, and the love they deserve! 🤗 I prioritize each pet’s safety and comfort by following their established routines. Whether in my home or the client’s home, I ensure pets are supervised and cared for how YOU request.

About: What sets me apart from other pet sitters is that I’ve been surrounded by animals since I was a child. I’ve cared for and loved my dog Maya for 5 years and my cat Sombra for 7 years. I also have turtles, and in the past I’ve had parrots and chickens. For me, this is not just a job — it’s a passion that has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Pet care is naturally part of my daily routine because I’ve always lived with animals. I make sure they have fresh food and water every day, give them time for walks or play, and check on their well-being. On a weekly basis, I dedicate time to cleaning their spaces, grooming if needed, and making sure they feel loved and safe. Unfortunately, my pets are currently in Honduras, but in the future we’ll be reunited. When caring for pets in my client’s home, I follow the owner’s instructions carefully to maintain their routine and make them feel comfortable. I provide fresh food and water, daily exercise or playtime, regular check-ins, and lots of affection. I also keep their space clean and safe, and give them extra attention to reduce stress while their owners are away. My goal is to make pets feel as loved and cared for as they do when their family is home.

About: I've cared for pets for nearly 20 years. I'm comfortable with dogs and cats of every size and temperament, including seniors and pets with special needs. I can give medications and handle multiple animals at once. As a therapist, I bring patience and a calm presence that helps anxious animals settle in. I work remotely and rarely need to go into the office, so I'm home with your pets for most of the day. That means plenty of attention, regular walks and playtime, and steady routines. I'm available for overnight stays, longer house sits and daytime drop-ins throughout the week. I have my own car and can get to you reliably. I care for your pets in your own home, so they stay comfortable in familiar surroundings. I follow your routines for feeding, walks, medications and bedtime. I keep doors and gates secure, store food and cleaning products out of reach, and watch for any changes in health or behaviour. I send updates and photos, and I'll contact you or your vet right away if anything seems off.

FAQs for House Sitting - Beverly Shores

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Beverly Shores walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Beverly Shores maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Beverly Shores choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
