Jill was excellent with Stella. She cared for and loved Stella like she was one of her own. Stella went on nice long daily walks with Jill and sometimes she included her dog Murphy. This was good because Stella needs to lose some weight and the two dogs got along well and liked to play together. She always documented their walks thoroughly and shared pictures. Jill has watched my pets for decades and I 100 percent trust her with all of them.

Mya is amazing with our dog. We have booked her on many different occasions and she’s always great. We were nervous having a stranger walking our little guy, but Mya is awesome. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for someone you can trust your puppy with!

Matthew did a fantastic job taking care of our Boston Terrier while we were gone for over a week. He visited our home twice a day for feeding, walking, and playing and gave frequent updates. We felt so much more at ease leaving our dog at home while we traveled thanks to Matthew. We will use him again.

About: **For house-sitting requests, please read my availability disclaimer before requesting a booking!** Having grown up on a pig farm, I've always been close to animals. I have dog and cat sat for friends, making house visits to care for them or hosting them in my own home. I attend to every detail provided as every pet is unique and their comfort is most important, especially when their favorite people are away. I am detail-oriented, responsive, and dedicated to your pet's happiness and safety. Due to my own responsibilities and schedule, I am not able to stay at your house full-time during a sit. This means I can stay throughout the day, 8am to 8pm with 1 break of up to 3 hours OR overnight with 1-2 visits throughout the day for meals and exercise, etc. If you are looking for someone who can be with your pets all day and overnight, kindly seek another sitter who can better fit your needs. :) I work full-time as a teacher and have my own family, so I cannot provide around-the-clock care for your pet. I can drop in for walks, mealtimes, and check-ins, but I cannot stay full-time in your home while you are away. Please message me if you are curious about how we can work out an appropriate agreement for house-sitting that will meet yours and your pet's needs. Thanks! I pay close attention to my own pets at home and do whatever is needed to ensure they are the happiest and healthiest they can be. My Australian Shepherd Mix dog, Willow, who is 4 years old, requires daily oral medications, obedience training, and daily walks or runs due to her energy level. I have adjusted my own schedule and lifestyle to make sure she gets what she needs every day. I have trained with her extensively and have experience with anxious, high-energy, and reactive dogs. I know the body language to look out for given my experience with my own dog, Willow, and know what to do to help an anxious dog feel safe. I have also cared for my own cat, Fig, since we adopted him at 4 months old. He has Irritable Bowel Disease, which means we have to administer daily oral medications and feed him Hydrolized food that is easier for him to digest. I have since learned which signs to look out for relating to cat health such as changes in behavior, bowel movements, and eating habits. Overall, I am an extremely attentive, empathetic animal lover who would consider it a privilege to look after your pets as if they were my own.

About: You can relax, knowing your pup will be treated like one of our own. My family has years of experience working with several different breeds and temperaments. We love them all and we’ll give them the very best care! I also have years of experience pet sitting, as well as, dog walking. We have fostered so many amazing pups and love to make their lives better. I’m home Monday through Friday so your pup will never be alone. I have had several clients that I enjoyed working with very much. I provide security inside and outside and give each pup lots of love and attention. I have a large fenced in yard, your pup will have full access to. They will be let out several times a day and played with. I have three small pups of my own, all under 35 pounds. I take the time to meet every client before their first stay to ensure everyone gets along and so you can see where your pup will be staying. There is also have a separate space to give new pups the opportunity to have alone time.

About: I have grown up with dogs all my life. I started taking care of dogs a little bit before I turned 10. I've taken care of my family's and friends' pets for many years. I've been relied on for feedings, walks, baths, and medications. I love dogs with all my heart. I always want to make sure that they feel loved and cared for. I am currently working a full time job, but try to make time for some pet sitting! I am able to do most morning pet sitting/dog walking. Fridays and Saturdays are always 50/50 since I'm working either one of those days, but can do evenings if I am working. I'm always off on Sundays, so I'm always free! I live in an apartment, so I make sure that my dog has plenty of opportunities to go outside for a walk. My dog has a schedule that we stick to that also works for her. I would make sure that I follow your dog's schedule and specific instructions. With me, your dog will get all the cuddles, love, and playtime they could ask for!

Christy is a gem! My dog saw her coming and was so excited to see her because he knew he was about to get a great walk! From my six-year-old lazy St. Bernard to my one year-old newfi/St. Bernard mix who has enough energy for five puppies, she knows how to handle both of them. The puppy is in training and she’s very good at reinforcing what he’s learning. I am so glad I found her!

About: I previously worked at a dog lodging facility, Playful Pups Retreat, as a Lodging Attendant. I stopped due to graduating college and accepting a full time job. I also have personally watched multiple dogs in many peoples homes. My one German Shepherd has epilepsy, so I have experiencing caring for animals with disabilities and giving medicine as needed. I am mostly available anytime Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Monday through Wednesday I work out of town during the day. I can stop in early morning (before 6:30am) and later in the evening (anytime past 6). I have taken a dog first aid class in my previous job. I have handled dogs big and small and have dealt with all types of behavior.

Adam was great with our shy 10 month old puppy. He was very patient with her and gave her time to warm up to him. He's taken care of other pets (both dogs and cats) for me in the past for both walks and house sitting, and has been great with all of them. He is always prompt and communicates clearly as well. I would recommend Adam to anyone looking for a thoughtful, reliable pet sitter or walker.

  • 96% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
