“Evelyn took care of our pup at the last minute when our plans changed. She did a wonderful job and kept our girl entertained and happy. We will definitely have Evelyn watch our dogs again in the future!”

About: My parents have taken care of 40 cats, and counting, in the last 28 years. This included four dogs that questioned their own relationship to these critters. It’s safe to say I’ve experienced the wide range, just from family care alone, to care for your pet. In addition, I’ve worked as a Kennel Technician in a boarding facility and have customer experience with high-risk canines and environment training sessions. I’m openly available. Weekends will specify accordingly and I can accommodate! Check my calendar for more information. If you need another time, then let me know! Knowing your canine can trust their handler is important, no matter the situation. In my zone of safety, I ensure clients understand that I’m wanting a safe time too.
“Grace Ann did a great job caring for my 2 fur kids (dog & cat). She was very patient with my dog as they got to know each other- he can be very shy and a bit scared with new people. I truly appreciate her understanding and patience. Her calm presence was immediately felt by him and put him at ease. I will be booking Grace Anne again!”
About: I have about 6 year experience with dogs any where from puppies to seniors. I have trained dogs mine included. His name is bullet and he is 4. I work during the week so I’ll be available weekends and some evenings. Time will vary but I will accept as much as I can I’ve got a fenced in yard I live on a large property. I have two dogs very sweet and I don’t like next to a road.
“Erica was prompt, reliable and sweet to our two small pups. We received regular communication from her with photos. The moment we met her we felt confident that our puppies (who are like babies to us) would be well cared for and she exceeded our expectations. I recommend her for sure! Thank you, Erica!”

About: I had plenty of dogs. I love dogs of all kinds. Unfortunately cant have any right now. Will play with them walk them when I can. I have a full time job but can check on them during my break. Im working full time 40+ hours a week. I can check on them during my breaks, and on my days off i stay with them all day. We currently don't have any pets. We don't have a fence in yard and live close to a highway where most people drive like crazy.

Reliable care, happy pets, and peace of mind for you—that’s my promise. As a stay-at-home mom, I’m available most days with a flexible schedule that fits your pet’s needs—walks, playtime, meals, and snuggles whenever they need. I’m home full-time, so your pet will never be left alone for long Cozy home with two friendly dogs—a calm senior and a playful 4-year-old. Secure yard for outdoor fun and plenty of indoor space for relaxing or playing. I’m home full-time with my 3-year-old, so your pet will get lots of attention and care throughout the day. We are a 5 minute walk to the lake in a gated community so its very safe. We all know each other in the neighborhood. I usually walk down to the water and let the pups get a good picture for Momma & Daddy
“We are new to the area so we are very nervous about leaving our pets with someone we did not know. But James did absolutely amazing job! It was amazing to know our pets were well taken care of and happy in their own home. We will for sure be asking James to come and sit with our pets again!”

“Andrea is wonderful. She doesn’t seem to meet a stranger. Very comfortable with her right off the bat at the meet and greet. Sent pics and keep me posted. Definitely will use her again!”

About: I have had dogs in my family all my life. I worked at a pet boarding center called Circle Star Pet Resort and will always take cute pictures of your fur babies! I used to foster dogs, but I get too attached to those babies so I couldn’t do it anymore :( I have helped out with bathing and taking care of some of the top show dogs in our country which has been the best opportunity of my life! Due to that my prices are a bit higher but I have the experience! I have a dog myself who is the sweetest baby ever! He loves it when I bring home a friend so they will have plenty of playtime together!
“Robin helped us with our 10 month old puppy today and we were very satisfied. She even helped us with training! Grace was in good spirits after she left and very content. Thank you!”

About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was about 10, I’m 21 now. My major is Pre-Veterinary because I’ve had a love for animals and dream of being a vet since I was 7. I have a cat of my own, Luna, and she’s my world. I treat her like a baby so I would love to share the same love to your fur babies! I work full-time as a manager at Walmart, and I’m a full time college student (online). I’m pretty fair and understanding with scheduling, as long as you reach out in advance. If my schedule doesn’t fit for you, I do not mind adjusting to accommodate you and your fur babies! I also don’t have an issue with last minute planning, just be mindful of scheduling issues or certain questions I asks in regards of the service you’ve requested! When caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and comfortable as possible. I make sure they are fed on schedule, have fresh water, and get plenty of exercise and attention throughout the day. I also monitor their behavior to make sure they are happy, healthy, and not feeling stressed while their owner is away. As well as in a clients home, I respect your space and specific instructions on pet care! Ensuring your pets and home’s safety is never an issue.
“This is our first time using a dog/house sitter. Charlene is the BEST! She kept us updated with pictures and texts letting us know how our dog was doing, showered him with love, kept him active and well cared for. I would HIGHLY reccommend Charlene.”

FAQs for House Sitting - Baxter
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 156 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Baxter. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Baxter walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Baxter maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Baxter choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
