“Angelita was amazing, wonderful!! She took great care of my dog and my dog was excited to go there the next day! She even gave my dog a treat bag to go home with!”

“Rex had such an amazing time with Mai, he seemed like he didn't want to go home when I came to pick him up! 😂 We can tell that Mai's place will be Rex's new home away from home and that they'll be the best of friends!”

“Heather is an amazing sitter ! Lola loves staying at her house and playing with her little dogs. She keeps me updated with pictures and videos during the day, which makes me very happy! Thank you Heather !”

“Stacy saved my behind today and was able to watch my boy so I could get to a wedding! It was my first time leaving him for a long period, and wanted someone to watch after him to put my mind at ease. It was also my first time using Rover and found it super easy and quick! I thought she did a wonderful job, loved the updates, and that there were other dogs for my boy to play with! Thanks again!!”

“Gwendoline was wonderful! Our pup Mae had a wonderful time running and playing in the snow with the other dogs! Gwendoline was very attentive and responsive! We would definitely use her daycare services again!!”

About: I've trained (self taught) and cared for furr babies since I was 15 and have had various pets since the age of two! I specialize in caring for canines with separation anxiety and canines with vision issues. I enjoy basic command training (self taught) and giving your pup the extra love and care needed while you're unable to be with them! I’m a professional dog sitter! This is my full time career adventure! Your pup will enjoy leaded walks, controlled environmental play time, and a cozy home (mine or yours) with all the attention your pup could want or need! I do not have a fenced in yard, but your pup will be safely walked with a lead on our two-plus acre lot or on local trails! Controlled environmental play time is offered to pups who are trained to listen off lead!
“Loved having Diane as a sitter. Sophie loved her and so did we. She’s high energy and Duane saw she had lots of walks and activity. You’d never be disappointed with Diane. Thanks so much for loving on our girl for the day. Thx for the umbrella too♥️”

“Boots had a fantastic stay with Danielle and Brianna! They were incredibly kind, communicative, and clearly experienced with dogs. He spent the day with their four dogs and had such a great time socializing and playing—we could tell he felt comfortable and happy in their care. It gave us real peace of mind knowing he was in such a welcoming and attentive environment. We’d absolutely trust them with Boots again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, caring sitters.”

“Charissa was amazing with our last minute planning and willing to babysit our fur baby. Our pup loves attention and affection from anyone and everyone but he felt completely at home within her home and that’s the best feeling when you know your pet is doing well. 10 out of 10. Would recommend.”

About: I have a very friendly mini labradoodle who LOVES visitors and one cat who is also very comfortable with dogs visiting my home (he’s also very happy to stay independently in other areas of the home if needed). I have three young children who live with me 50% of the time, who are also very high energy and love running around with dogs. Since I work from home full time, I’m able to walk dogs multiple times during the day and don’t have to crate during the day. Large three floor home, small yard, very close to multiple open outdoor spaces for dogs to run. I work from home full-time, so have lots of flexibility to care for pets! No need to crate daily, and can offer multiple daily walks. I don’t have a fenced yard, but I have a lead for those who want to stay outside for a bit and several leashes for short bathroom breaks. I also live very close to several outdoor spaces for dogs (ie parks).
“Courtney saved us from a last minute dog day care request. She sent me all the pictures of Dharmi having su much fun. Thank you Courtney for be so flexible, friendly and kind with my senior dog Dharmi. 🥰”

About: Animals have always been my world. As an only child, my pets were my very first best friends, teaching me early on how deep the bond between humans and animals truly is. For 35 of my 40 years, I have never been without a furry companion.Aside from being a happy wife of 25 years, my absolute biggest joy in life was raising my three daughters alongside a constant, loving flock of family pets. Now that my girls are all adults, I am dedicating my time and heart to expanding my pet care circle.Over decades of pet ownership, I have developed a deep expertise in handling a wide variety of animal personalities, ages, and medical needs. I am equally skilled at engaging in high-energy playtime with energetic pups as I am providing the patient, specialized care that senior pets and puppies require. This expertise comes from a very personal place. I am the proud pet parent of a handsome Pomchi who manages IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease). Caring for his unique daily needs has given me specialized, hands-on experience in medical management, gentle handling, and strict care routines. I understand how to read an animal’s body language, adapt to different temperaments, and provide a safe, tailored environment for pets who require an extra-gentle touch.Honestly, if you ask my family, they might tell you I sometimes love pets more than humans—and they might be right! Cats and dogs offer a pure, uncomplicated love, and I mirror that right back to them. I know how heavy it feels to leave your babies with someone else. When your dogs or cats are with me, they become a true extension of our family, receiving the exact same unconditional love, professional attentiveness, and spoiling that my own pets enjoy. Because my children are grown, my days are completely open and focused on the home. I do work full-time remotely, but my job provides immense flexibility. I am not tied to a rigid desk setup; rather, my schedule allows me to step away at a moment's notice to tend to animal needs, monitor playtime, or provide constant, frequent potty breaks throughout the day. Pet care seamlessly integrates into my workday. My days are naturally structured around consistent, high-quality care:Morning Structure: Early morning potty breaks, fresh water refills, and structured breakfast times. This is also when I administer any morning medications or specific physical therapy routines before I log into work.Active & Attentive Afternoons: While I work, your pet is right by my side. Mid-day is reserved for tailored care. For high-energy guests, that means dedicated backyard playtime and quick brain games between my tasks. For puppies, seniors, or special-needs pets like my IVDD Pomchi, this time is focused on gentle companionship, scheduled rest, and closely supervised, frequent potty intervals.Evening Wind-Down: A reliable dinner schedule followed by relaxing, low-stress evening cuddles. I perform thorough wellness and comfort checks on all animals before bedtime.Since I manage a strict care routine for my own pup while working, I am incredibly time-disciplined. Whether your pet needs a yard break every hour, strict medication intervals, or just a constant, reassuring human presence while you are away, my remote work setup gives me the perfect flexibility to provide it. Because I work full-time remotely with excellent schedule flexibility, my care philosophy is centered on constant supervision, emotional comfort, and strict routine adherence—whether your pet is staying under my roof or I am visiting yours. Here is how I tailor my care to each environment:🏡 In My Home (Boarding & Daycare)Spacious Outdoor Areas: I am fortunate to have a large front and backyard, giving your pets plenty of secure outdoor space to sniff, stretch their legs, and burn off energy throughout the day.A Tailored, Safe Environment: Inside, my home is set up to handle a variety of animal needs. Because I care for my own handsome Pomchi with IVDD, my space is highly optimized for safety, gentle movement, and comfort.Constant Companionship: Since I work from home, your pet will never be left alone for long stretches. They will spend the day right by my side, enjoying free reign of the common areas, frequent lap snugs, or resting comfortably in a designated quiet space.Frequent Potty & Play Breaks: My flexible schedule allows me to step away at a moment's notice. High-energy dogs get frequent, supervised yard play sessions, while puppies or seniors get the constant, hourly potty breaks they require.🚗 In Your Home (House Sitting & Drop-In Visits)Respecting Their Safe Space: I understand that many pets (especially cats or senior dogs) feel most secure in their own environment. When I care for pets in your home, my top priority is maintaining their exact comfort zones, favorite sleeping spots, and hidden nooks.Flawless Routine Replication: I treat your house rules as law. I map out your exact feeding times, specific walking routes, and medication schedules. Because I am used to managing strict medical and physical routines for my own dog, you can trust that your pet's schedule will not miss a beat.Remote Work Mobility: For overnight house sitting, I bring my remote work setup with me. This means your pet still gets the benefit of a constant human presence, mid-day companionship, and frequent attention without me having to leave them alone for an 8-hour workday.Home Security & Updates: I treat your home with the utmost respect, keeping it clean and secure. You will receive consistent updates, detailed notes, and plenty of photos so you have total peace of mind while you are away.

“Julie did a an awesome job. We just moved to a new area, so we were worried about finding the right person for chloe. Julie did a great job of communicating and letting us know how chloe was doing. We would definitely use Julie again. We found the right person for our pup!”

About: I've taken care of and have had pets for forty years, and would love to care for yours as well. I grew up raising Labador Retrievers, and have owned cats over the years as well. I've also had the pleasure of caring for and boarding friends' & families' pets, and having them in my home always brings me so much joy!!! We currently don't have any pets so yours will get all the attention! I am currently a stay at home mom who homeschools my teens. I have flexibility in my schedule most days of the week, and would love to care for your pets in my home, or in your home. I offer dog walking and visits to your home, and will take your pet(s) into my home as well. We have a great neighborhood for walking, and I will accomodate your pet's exercise needs.

“I had such a wonderful experience with Vera caring for both of my Yorkies! She was loving, attentive, and took excellent care of them. I felt completely comfortable knowing they were in such good hands. I left extremely happy with her service and the care she provided. I would definitely recommend her and will absolutely use her again! ❤️🐾”

“This was my first time using Rover and I had such a great experience. Jordan was great with Scruffy, had a welcoming environment, and was very communicative. I knew my pup was is good hands which was reassuring. I recommend Jordan to others and would certainly have Scruffy stay with her again.”

About: I’ve grown up always having pets in the family and knew I had a passion for animal care. I’ve looked after senior dogs, puppies, female dogs in heat, rescues with trust issues, and dogs with Vision problems. I work from home so I have very open availability and I have a car so I’m able to commute to and from different rover jobs. I have a small backyard for potty time and a big park across the street with a path to go on the walks. I have a 25-30lb dog that’s with me off and on and a cat with me full time. They both love meeting new friends and warm up quite quickly to new animals staying with us.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Baumgardner
If I could give D 10 stars, I would. She is, without a doubt, the most genuine person we have ever met through rover. She was extremely flexible with changing drop off times and adding on an extra day of daycare last minute. Her farm is a adorable and our two Australian shepherds loved interacting with friendly goats, chickens, a cat, and even a sweet cow—it was a true vacation for them! If we didn't already think highly of D, upon arrival for their second stay, our boys bounded straight past us and ran to the door. They chose her over jumping back in the car, which speaks volumes about the trust and love she inspires. Furthermore, she is incredibly reliable with medical needs. Our one boy has epilepsy, and she managed to administer his medication flawlessly, giving us total peace of mind. We are so grateful to have found her and will use her in the future when we're in the area!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Baumgardner commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 548 sitters in Baumgardner, 90% respond to messages in under an hour.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
