“Sheri and her husband took great care of our lab while we were out of town for our wedding/honeymoon. She took Kona on many walks, and even made a point to at least play ball in the backyard when the weather turned stormy. She sent updates and photos regularly, and put our minds at ease. Will definitely use Sheri again when the need arises. ”

“Allison was great! She is so kind and was very patient with my Trigger and his anxiety and sent updates with photos throughout the time he was with her. I would definitely recommend her!”

“Will use her again next time! My airedale terrier, Kingsley, loves her! Marshelle sent me photos, videos, and updates of him. She had a yard that where my pooch can run and play and also she had other dogs to keep him busy and active. We had to leave kingsley with Marshelle for 3 days and 2 nights. Not only did I have a vacation but Kingsley sure did have a very good vacay as well! 5 stars! thanks Marshelle! ❤️?”
“Kimberly took great care of our Louie girl. Kimberly sent us photos each day we were gone. She also was able to pick up and drop off which was very convenient for us. Would rebook with her for sure!”

“Janelle and Travis are amazing! Our energetic German Shepherd, Bear, had the best time with their family and playing with all the pups. He came home happy and wiped out! They sent us daily videos of him having so much fun, which gave us such peace of mind while we were away. We’ll definitely be booking with them again!”

“I was so nervous at first to leave our dogs with someone we didn’t know but, we LOVED Lynne!! She took such good care of our dogs. Treated them like her own. We got pics and updates everyday! Lynne is the best!!!!”

“Yoda loved it there before we even left. They have all the toys and even a little coat for him. They took videos of Yoda going on walks and playing. Sherrie and Bill are a lovely couple and did a great job caring for Yoda. They have a closed-in backyard to keep dogs safe. When we go out of town, we hope they're available.”

“I exclusively use this sitter for my Blue Heeler Sasha. The open space and level of care provided are second to none, communication is seamless and we always have a great chat when dropping off or picking up. 5/5 will always use this Sitter.”

“I knew at our meet and greet that Krystle would be a great sitter for Layla. I could tell from the photos that Krystle became Layla’s person in my absence. We use Rover because we want our pets to be part of a family and not alone in a kennel and I could tell Layla was making herself at home on their sofa. I highly recommend Krystle as a dog sitter.”

“Cant say enough about how great Dino & Gary were they never had a chance to visit with Loui first but made him feel at home owning their place had free range of the whole house. We got lots of cute photos of him while we were gone as well. Cant wait to let him stay there again 5 stars all the way thanks Guys you made us feel very happy and Loui too.”

“Tam was amazing. They took such great care of our senior dog and always asked for our input first. They were also so understanding when we arrived late at night. We’d absolutely love to leave our dog with Tam again!”

“Jennifer was wonderful and so understanding that this was only the 2nd time my dog Charlie had been bordered. She kept me updated with photos. I’m sure her guinea pigs are happy Charlie went back home.”

“Kevin has a other great day with Linda. Kevin had lots of fun going on walks and taking naps. Kevin stayed a little later today which coincidentally was at the start of the storm. Linda played music for Kevin to keep him calm, which was very thoughtful. Linda also gave us a new client card and gift, which was so kind. Thank you Linda! ☺️”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Barco home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Barco.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Barco sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
