“Excellent! She is a very nice person that cares about animals and it shows. My dog had a great time at her house. She sent me pictures and videos and I am so grateful for the way she treated our dog. Thanks!!!”

“We had an excellent experience with Amy. Communication was clear, easy drop off and pick up and she sent lots of photos of our dog having a blast with her dogs. We will definitely use her again.”

“Ciara and her family were amazing! They treated our fur babies like her own and her littles just loved our girls. We felt very at ease dropping them off and picking them up and were very thankful for all the sweet pictures throughout their stay. Thank you Ciara!”

“I’m so grateful to Kelsi for responding quickly to my last-minute, late-night request! I felt completely at ease leaving Faf with her and her wonderful family. Thank you for taking such great care of him on short notice and for spoiling him with yogurt and peanut butter treats! I will definitely reach out again when we’re back at Kings Dominion.”

“Margaret was wonderful! My dog looked like she was on her own vacation at Margarets house. She would send me pictures of Lucy playing in the yard and what bedding Lucy picked. Lucy loved being at Margarets house. I highly recommend Margaret!”

“We couldn't have asked for anyone better! She kept us updated the whole time we were away and had no issue catering to our dog's needs! We will always book with Cyndi from here on out!”
“Henry had a great stay. He is always happy to come back and receives a lot of care and love during his time at Matt's. We appreciate the reliable updates and flexibility.”

“It was our first time leaving our dog Lucy with Michelle and Lucy had a wonderful time and Michelle took great care of of her. I really appreciated the daily updates and pictures on how Lucy was doing. We were gone for a week and I felt comfortable and confident leaving Lucy in her care. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great dog sitter!”

“Peyton was wonderful - super responsive and agreed to watch my dog VERY last minute. I was anxious about leaving Ember because she typically has separation anxiety but she did great and Peyton sent updates and pictures the entire time I was gone. Great first experience with Rover and Peyton!”

“I could not have been more pleased. Bentley was at home with someone who cared for him as if he was her own pup. She took time out of her day to send me plenty of pics and ask if she had any concerns. As soon as I dropped him off and received the first pic I was at ease. In fact when we picked Bentley up he didn’t want to leave. I cannot say enough good things about Jay. She is loving, compassionate, and an excellent choice to take care of your fur baby. I Definitely give her 5 stars! Angela Bartlett”

“I cant say enough good things about Myrna. She took exceptional care of my senior pup and went above and beyond to make him feel safe, comfortable, and loved during his stay. My dog has some incontinence issues and can be very attached to his people. Myrna was incredibly understanding, accomidating, and patient with his special needs. Thank you!”

“From start to finish, Michaela did a wonderful job watching our little dog Coco! She always responded in a timely manner and kept in touch with us, sending pictures and updates daily. We’re so grateful that Coco was loved and taken well care during our trip abroad. We would highly recommend Michaela if you should need a loving and caring pet sitter!!🥰🐾”

“Susan provided A+ care to our Little Man! She provided daily pictures and videos to keep us updated. We will definitely book Susan again. She is a gem! It was evident that “The Fozz” enjoyed his time in her lovely home. ❤️❤️🐾🐾”

“Michelle was AMAZING with my dog. My dog is a special needs dog. (He can't do stairs, has anxiety accidents, needs medication, etc.) I so rarely leave my dog with anyone else because of this. But Michelle didn't make any of his needs feel like a burden. Her and her family were so warm toward him and very attentive to his idiosyncrasies. He got along with the kids, who were sensitive to his need to warm up to people. He ran around the house and was so happy to be there with the family. Michelle sent updates multiple times a day with pictures/videos and a report on how he was doing: if he went to the bathroom, what he ate, and what his mood was like. I will be booking with her again and will very easily recommend!”

“Took the best care of my girl!! So happy and relieved she’s in great hands. Had a pleasant meet and greet which solidified our decision. My dog had a number of specific needs and she met everyone of them. Sent daily updates and had great communication! Happy to use anytime, as is my dog!”

“Panda had a great time with Jennifer and her family. We appreciated the pictures and videos she sent, which showed how well Panda was being cared for. We’re very happy with the experience and hope to have Panda stay there again!”

“Petey had a wonderful time and I am happy to have Jeanette look after him whenever we travel. She provided pictures of Petey during his stay and was waiting for us on her front porch. He made new puppy friends, met a little boy who loves him and now has new friends.”

“Wonderful experience. Emily and Abi took such good care of our CheChe! Communication was excellent and they made sure she had everything she needed to be healthy, happy and comfortable during her week-long stay.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Aylett
She was a great boarder. She truly cared about our corgis needs and made sure she was comfortable. We set up a meeting so she could meet pepper and understand her needs. She was patient and so kind. She will be our go to person whenever we need someone to watch our corgi. Her dogs helped our corgi come out of her shell and not be scared of other dogs! It was like night and day in 4 days. We got many updates and pictures which made us feel comfortable being away for the first time. I definitely recommend her.

- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
