“Jordan provided a safe, calm, and secure place for our pup. She kept us informed with text and pictures and it was great seeing our pup so relaxed and happy while we were away. 💙”
“Left our Cavapoo of 21 months old with Andrew & Karen for a first time away from home boarding for 7 days, 6 nights. They were wonderful with him showing care 'n cuddles immediately. Andrew provided updates & photos/videos daily which eased our concerns. Did everything they said they would following Quincey's routine. Slow socialization w/their dog Finn was nicely provided & slowly helped our dog get to know others. Walks together was great to see. Laid back and easy to work with as petsitters. Appreciated them both accepting our dog into their home as one of their own. Would definitely recommend them as petsitters & will be happy to book again in the future. Thanks again Andrew & Karen!”
“Melissa did an amazing job watching our dog Sadie! She was great sending pictures and updates! You can tell she is truly compassionate about the dogs in her care! We will rebook with Melissa in the future!”
“Excellent experience! Boarded a 5 year old Siberian Husky for 9 days and the service was flawless. Lindsay has the family atmosphere and accommodations to support any and all breeds! We will definitely use Lindsay in the future. A kennel is a prison(23 to 1 lockdown); give your baby to Lindsay!”
“Maria is wonderful!! Sent pictures and taking very special care of my anxious little Pomeranian! Will definitely be using her again!!! By the end of her stay Little Bear ditched the crate and fit right in with the other little doggies.. Maria is a miracle worker!!”
“Im sure Gus would have liked to go on vacation with us, but I'm pretty sure he would give Annettes house five stars too. He got all the love and attention that he desires and he came home a happy boy!”
“Tamakia was so great to our two dogs! We have one grumpy old man who is fairly needy and doesn’t warm up to just anyone, but he absolutely adores her. We’ve now booked with Tamakia twice and each time received many updates and pictures. We would definitely recommend her!”
“Our dog loves going to Emily & Patrick's! He started wagging his tail the moment we got there this last time. It makes vacation so relaxing to know he is so happy and well cared for at their place.”
“Gary and his partner were amazing! Great communication and updates. And my dog was so happy when I picked him up! They will be our new regular sitters. Highly recommend.”

“Kristina was amazing with Lincoln! He was very nervous and shy at first but she did amazing with him. She sent updates and pictures over the weekend so we could stay updated with how he was doing.”
“Our schedule was erratic and included my mistake in scheduling. Sima and her family were gracious hosts and worked with our schedule. I received updates on how our doggo was doing everyday. It has been a pleasure working with them, I would definitely consider them next time we are in town.”
“Our older cat is afraid of her shadow and keeps her distance from people she doesn’t know. Audrey was patient and gentle with her. She sent me pictures and notes every day. I like that she works from home so your pet is not left alone very often. And her adorable and very friendly kitten is happy to be a playmate or can be kept separate if needed. Give Audrey a try. You won’t be disappointed.”
“Responsive, caring , kind and supportive sitter. My dog developed some allergies and began coughing when I left my dog with Chris. Chris went out of his way to help Pluto feel better. He even picked up medicine’s for Pluto. Cuddled him and gave him loads of love. He was constantly updating us and kept us in loop and ensured we didn’t take stress while we were away. Deeply appreciated his kindness towards Pluto. Thank you Chris 🙏Highly recommended! 10 stars !”
“It was my first time leaving my dog Stella with anyone, and I was extremely worried, as she has quite a bit of separation anxiety, but I can without a doubt say I will come back to Beatriz to watch her in the future! there wasn’t a time I was left guessing what Stella was up to, or how she was doing. I got frequent updates and tons of adorable pictures assuring me that she was comfortable and having a great time. I am so happy with my experience and would highly recommend Beatriz to anyone!”
“Johanna was absolutely excellent with my pup Mia. She kept me updated everyday by sending pictures and videos. Her dog Stella is very sweet and playful. She became to be a friend with my dog instantly. I enjoyed watching their play videos thanks to Johanne. We’ll definitely see Johanne again very soon.”
“Felt so happy knowing my pups were being loved on and having lots of safe fun in the sun! Thank you to LJ and her husband for making the rover process so easy. We look forward to rebooking with them in the future!”
“Jillian was fantastic! This was our first time using Rover and the experience exceeded our expectations. She offers one client at a time service which was bonus since we have a senior paced dog and a crazy puppy. Jillian was extremely responsive and provided pictures daily. Her fenced in backyard was great and the dogs really enjoyed roaming around. We will definitely use Jillian again on our next vacation without the dogs!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Avonmore home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Avonmore.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Avonmore sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
