“Michael was super responsive when setting up our reservation and sent pictures multiple times a day. We appreciated his kind and caring nature with of 6 yr old lab.”

“As our pup is only 6 months old, this was the first time we had left him with anyone outside our home, much less “boarded” him for 5 days. And Hobey is your stereotypical, energetic lab puppy . Jocelyn and Julian were great with him and provided him with both the structure and opportunities for play and outside time, including woods walks and trips to the dog park . They got to know him and understand him quickly and incorporated him into their family unit during his stay. We are very appreciative!”

“Deborah is the very best! She is easy to communicate with and takes great care of our dogs. Her property is really well set up for dogs and I have no concern when they are staying with her. Will happily book her again!”

“My husky, Sparky, had a wonderful time staying with Aiden! Aiden communicated well, made sure Sparky felt comfortable and cared for, and even took him for a nice hike. Sparky came back happy and healthy, and I'd be glad to ask for Aiden's help again in the future.”

“Joselyn did a PHENOMENAL job with my large senior baby! Buddy had a wonderful time with her and her sweet fluffy dog, Jack. He felt at home immediately and she did a wonderful job with keeping me updated and sent photos regularly every day! I will be using her services every time I need someone to watch my animals. I recommend her services 100%!”

“Jackie was wonderful and took such great care of our geriatric dog while we were on a family vacation. We received tons of updates, photos and videos. Our trip was stress free knowing our dog was in good hands.”
About: As a lifelong animal lover with years of experience, I have had the pleasure of caring for a wide range of pets, including dogs, cats, and small animals. My experience spans from handling playful puppies to providing tender care for senior pets from friends and family for over five years. I am free this July until August and otherwise I will be going to UVM this fall so my availability will vary based on my schedule. I’m not planning on taking any pets to my house since it is not pet safe. I will gladly though pet sit in your house.
About: I’ve spent many years volunteering at shelters. Dog walking at a very young age started walking dogs in my neighborhood as a kid. It’s only progressed from there. I have training skills in potty training, commands, etc. I have some minimal behavioral training as well. I wake up at 6:00 am everyday. The dogs will get fed shortly after being walked. From there they will be walked every 4 hours. Plus they will get play time for example hike, running, fetch, swimming, etc. I do have 4 dogs in my home. They are all very friendly and well trained. They have been through extensive dog training. I also have enrichment toys to help keep your pups occupied. I have the ability to separate the dogs if needed. I do also have the knowledge of medication administration. I do make sure to monitor the entire time. Will be sure to send photo and video updates.
“Louis and Haley took amazing care of my aging pup. They were super caring and went above and beyond to make sure my dog felt calm and relaxed during her stay. Thank you!”

“Janessa is a great sitter! We could tell from the initial meet that our dog was in good hands. She is a caring, wonderful person and was attentive to our anxious dog's quirks and needs. She made us feel at ease while we were on vacation by providing us with regular updates. Our dog loves to walk and she got plenty of exercise with Janessa which we know helped her be calm and happy while we were away. I highly recommend Janessa. We are looking forward to booking with her again for our next trip!”

“Eva was great and Bella had a great stay. Fenced in backyard and a doggie door. What more could a dog ask for. I would recommend Eva wholeheartedly! We will definitely be repeat customers!”

“Daniela and Tyler were fantastic taking care of our dog, Mila! They were communicative and flexible, providing daily updates with photos of Mila. We really appreciated these updates and could tell Mila was having fun, especially with her new buddy Luna!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Au Sable Forks
Niki went above and beyond! I had a very complicated situation where I wasn’t able to house my dog anymore due to living circumstances. She offered to watch him until he had an appointment at a humane society. She was actually able to find him a loving home so he didn’t have to go. While watching him she gave updates with pictures and was very communicative. She also was very gracious in giving my dog time to warm up and let me stay around for a bit until he was settled. I’d give more stars if I could. Nicki truly had my dog’s wellbeing as top priority and she helped change his life for the better.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Au Sable Forks home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Au Sable Forks.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Au Sable Forks sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
