About: I have experience caring for dogs of all ages, from energetic 2-year-olds to senior dogs around 12 years old. I’ve provided in-home care, making sure each dog is fed, exercised, given plenty of attention, and kept comfortable while their owners are away. I understand that every dog has a different personality and routine, and I always strive to provide safe, reliable, and loving care so owners can have peace of mind. My schedule is very flexible. I attend school from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM on weekdays, which leaves me available most afternoons, evenings, and weekends for pet care. I’m happy to work with your schedule and provide dependable care whenever you need it. I prioritize creating a safe, comfortable, and positive environment for every dog I care for. I understand that pets are part of the family, and I treat each dog with patience, attention, and respect. I focus on following their normal routines, providing plenty of supervision, and making sure they feel secure and cared for while they are away from home.
“Skyler was great! I got constant updates with a lot of photos and videos. His attentiveness and care were first rate and made my dog feel very comfortable about being away from me. So much so that I think she wasn't ready to leave when it was time for me to get her lol”

“Gina is the best. We have 2 bigger dogs and she handles them great. We don’t worry at all when they are in her hands and we’ve even taken longer trips up to 5 days. She is pleasant and responsible with a nice sense of humor. Our dogs love her and are comfortable around her. You can tell Gina is a dog person by the way she interacts with them. No fear and completely comfortable which also helps the pups not be anxious while we are gone. I highly recommend Gina.”
About: Hello! I have been pet sitting for friends and family for the past 3 years now and have finally decided to meet more animals! I am so excited to meet your fluffy (or non-fluffy) friends! I start school August 15, so until then I am free to take care of your pet at anytime of the day! I will typically try to DoorDash to make some extra cash, but will stop every couple of hours to check on your friend! I treat every home and pet like my own — that means following your routines closely and communicating with you along the way so you're never left wondering how things are going. For drop-in visits, I stick to the schedule you set for feeding, medication, and fresh water, and I always do a walk-through to make sure everything's secure before I leave. I'll bring in mail/packages and rotate lights if that's part of the ask. For dog walks, I keep to your dog's normal route and pace unless you tell me otherwise, always leash up before opening any doors, and clean up after them every time. I pay close attention to their body language, especially around other dogs or people, and I'll never push a walk if it's too hot, too cold, or your dog seems off that day. For overnight house sitting, I keep your pet's routine as close to normal as possible — same feeding times, same bedtime habits, same amount of attention and play. I treat your home with respect (locking up, keeping things tidy, not having guests over) and I check in with updates so you can relax while you're away. Across all of it: I send photo/video updates, I'm comfortable with basic medication administration (pills, drops, insulin if trained), and if anything seems off with your pet's health or behavior, I contact you and the vet right away rather than guessing.
“Great sitter! My dog has a medical condition and she took care of him just as instructed. She took him for walks even in the bitter cold. I will book her again! Thank you Georgia for taking such good care of my pet!”

About: What sets me apart is my real, everyday experience caring for animals. I handle high-energy dogs like my Belgian Malinois, volunteer at shelters, and provide patient, loving, reliable care. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine with college. I make time to walk, play with, and care for dogs because I genuinely enjoy being around animals and helping with pet sitting. At a client’s home, I care for pets by following their normal routine for feeding, walks, and playtime to keep them comfortable and stress-free. I give plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship, and make sure they feel safe and cared for while their owner is away.
About: I have worked at a dog kennel since 2021. I had to do 2 months of training before hand. Friends and neighbors have allowed me to babysit their pets as well. I’ve fed, walked, cuddle, brushed, bathed and given medicine to dogs. I’m currently in college but coming home for summer and winter break. I’m working at the kennel still but want more work hours in the week I will keep an eye on them when they are outside as well as if I need to watch them while they’re eating. I will give them love and play all day with them
“Absolutely lovely! Calming yet confident presence that felt like we have known her forever. Hugged the dog goodbye and her too and never for a moment felt uneasy or stressed. Great care to doggo and house!”

“Rachel did a great job with my two dogs while we were out of town. I felt like I could trust her from the start, and she proved that intuition right. She shared photos and sent frequent updates. I’d gladly hire Rachel again.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes & personalities. I’m not shy to specialized care needs and love to play, walk & give belly rubs! Services include drop in dog walks and play sessions and overnight pet sitting for short or long terms. I’ve cared for two large fluffy dogs with special needs for two months at a time. I also looked after a high energy chihuahua for three weeks, routinely walking three or four times a day to burn some extra energy! I work full time in Bloomington from 9-6, Monday - Friday. Walks will take place as late as 8am or earlier, during lunch break if you’re home is within 15 miles of Bloomington, and after 6:30 pm on weekdays. Weekends are flexible and I am comfortable transporting the dogs to a dog park or swimming spot if they do well on field trips! I’m more of a homebody and love to play and interact with animals in their home. Your house rules & pet care needs will be met with respect and understanding. Your dog’s boundaries, safety and needs will be prioritized. I appreciate cleanliness and will respect your home as if it’s my own.
“Mary Ann did an outstanding job caring for our cats. She spent quality time with them, provided frequent updates, and sent plenty of photos throughout our time away, which gave us great peace of mind. When we returned home, it was obvious our cats had been genuinely loved and well cared for—not simply fed and left alone. They were happy, relaxed, and clearly received the attention and affection they needed. I highly recommend Mary Ann to anyone looking for a pet sitter who will care for their pets with the same love, dedication, and attention that an owner would.”

“Ben did a great job House sitting with our two pups for a long weekend. He sent lots of photos to let us see how they were doing and they were happy and healthy upon our return. And the house was exactly as we left it. We’ll definitely use Ben again when we travel!”

About: My name is Laura. I have been a dog owner my whole life. I have been a Rover sitter on and off for about 5 years and would love to take care of your fur babies while you are out of town. I have owned several special needs animals and am good at working with animals of all temperments. I have experience dealing with dogs of all ages and sizes. I especially love caring for older dogs who may need a little extra care and attention. I have worked with large groups of dogs and am willing to take care of several at a time if you have a large pet family. I have open availability and would love to play with your dog and make sure they are well taken care of. I have a full time job with flexibility. As long as I have about a weeks notice it should not be a problem to accommodate weekday visits to pets. Weekends are no problem. I like to do an initial house visit with the owner to get an idea of what the house looks like and where the pet is comfortable. If we cannot get a face to face meeting first please message me with detailed care instructions to ensure proper care for your pet.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 179 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Atlanta. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Atlanta walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Atlanta maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Atlanta choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
