“Carrie B. and her family completely and thoroughly took care of and loved our pups! You could tell because when Bruno and Boone, came home, they were so loving and happy. From walks, pats, playtime, feeding, and treat time, Carrie did it all, as seen from the pictures and text messages. We will definitely be contacting her for any future pet sitting needs.”

“Chris, Lindsey, their kiddos and dog Birdie welcomed my boy into their home while we were out of town for a few days over Thanksgiving. They took great care of him, and he was clearly comfortable and had a total blast with tons of playtime and fun. They’re such a sweet, positive and energetic family, so glad we found them. Thank you!”

About: I have had pets in my home since birth and am very experienced caring for them. I got my own dog as soon as I was able to at age 18, he lived to be 16. I am experienced with puppies, elderly dogs, dogs with high anxiety, and rambunctious dogs. I'm happy to discuss any dog's particular needs. My husband and I both work from home. We walk our dogs at least once per day depending on weather and time of year. We walk them in the morning in good weather and after work if there is light to do so. Our normal routine is feeding twice a day. We live on 45 acres of unfenced land with an unfenced pond and stream where. I have two big male dogs, an unaltered Golden and an altered mixed pit, and one cat. I also have a baby under one year old.
“Mary is the perfect Rover for us. We left Corby, our yorkie-mix with Mary and never worried once. We knew she missed her two little dogs and would spoil Corby. He had a great time in her fenced in yard and made himself right at home on the sofa and checking out the activity outside. A quiet country setting Corby will be visiting every time we go away. She sent us picture updates and notes.”

“A Big Shout Out to Brittney for taking care of our Finley for his first weekend away from home. We were a little nervous since our dog has some separation issues. But she kept us updated through text and photos and he looked like he had a great time with her and her cutie dog Pierre. Dogs got along well and our boy looked relaxed which in turn let us know we made the right choice when picking Brittney. We will definitely call her again for future help.. Thanks Brittney!!!”

“Staying with Lorraine was an absolute blessing for my Penny! Lorraine loves dogs and it shows! Penny got lots of love and attention, and I’ve been getting daily updates, pictures, and videos from Lorraine. Cannot recommend her enough!”

“Took great care of my pup! Was willing to accommodate his special needs. Received lots of updates and pictures. My pup had a great time and was well loved. Will be booking again in the future.”

“Kelly was amazing with our puppy! We loved all of pictures and updates throughout the day. Kelly took Avery on a bunch of walks, trips to the park, and gave her loads of attention and loving to keep her happy and comfortable! We look forward to having Kelly take care of our pup again in the future!”

“Paloma & Gerardo took excellent care of our sweet River for several days/nights while we were away. She had a great time playing with their Aussie, Sara and came home tired and happy! They sent daily pictures & video, took her for walks, and made her feel right at home. Highly recommend this friendly couple 🐾♥️”

“My dog has stayed with Julia several times, and Julia has quickly become my go-to dog sitter. My dog is always extremely excited when I drop him off, which is a testament to how well Julia treats him and takes care of him. I trust Julia 100% with my dog. In addition to being consistent and reliable, she is very responsive and sends daily picture updates where I can see that my dog is having a great time. She is also very flexible with scheduling, even during busy times. When my flight plans changed over the holidays and I needed her to watch my dog for a few extra days, she was extremely accommodating and put my mind at ease. I would 100% recommend Julia to anyone who is looking for a dog sitter in the Saratoga area.”

“We needed a quick overnight on a cross country trip. Our two goldens who just turned 2 we’re happy and loved with Hannah. We will be checking in with her next time we’re in the area for sure!”
“Andrea is AMAZING! This was my first time boarding my dachshund puppy and she made me feel so comfortable. She updated me with pictures several times a day and was super accommodating to my last-minute plans. Can’t wait to use Andrea again the next time I am in the area.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Athol home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Athol.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Athol sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
