Absolutely amazed by Alexis and how well she did. Very professional and had no problem watching our house even with some of the extra tasks asked of her. Ive had sitters in the past but never have I come home to house that felt cleaner than when I left. I appreciated the daily updates and behavioral observations. 10/10 will use her again

Just finished a 4 night 5 day booking with Nichole, and I can not say enough good things about the experience! Five⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️+++ With permission she brought her daughter, which was one more to love and care for our terribly spoiled miniature dachshunds, with lots of “ extras” Upon return, the house was immaculate, and our privacy honored. We will be using Nichole for all our future sitting needs. I highly recommend Nichole!

Kyla has been the greatest choice we’ve ever made. We have used her services a couple times now and she has been more than amazing. She brings comfort and peace of mind, knowing our dog is receiving the best care and attention we look for in a caregiver. I’m forever grateful for her. 10/10 would recommend!

Kimberly was a life saver. Our regular sitter was unavailable which left us scrambling to find another sitter last minute. Kimberly was able to meet with very little notice and the dogs loved her immediately. She took great care of our Great Danes and did everything we asked. I would recommend.

I was out of town from Sunday through Thursday. I was a little nervous about a stranger watching my pets. But she really came through. She communicates right away and I came home to a clean house and happy pets. I would definitely use her again.

About: We have had pets for as long as I can remember. Caring for animals brings me so much peace and joy, I am definitely the type of girl to pick up any dog or cat from the side of the road and take care of it!! I currently work part-time as a Licensed Esthetician. I just started in January, so my books aren’t quite as full as I need them to be, but I know that comes with time. I’m wanting to start dog/cat sitting to help me with my financial struggles and fill any extra time I have in my schedule! My dogs aren’t very sweet when it comes to meeting strangers pups, but when I’m watching puppers at clients houses I allow them to run their little tails off for a good amount of time outside (if there is a fenced in yard of course). I am definitely an outside girl so I love to just grab a book and sit outside with them, no matter the weather. If walks are needed, all I need is my Crime Junkie podcast and I’m good to go!

About: Hi! I’m Rachel, a nursing student with 9 years of pet care experience and a huge soft spot for animals. I’ve spent years caring for dogs and cats with all kinds of personalities—from high-energy pups who need lots of playtime to shy or anxious pets who need a calmer, more patient approach. I’m a pet owner myself, so I know how nerve-racking it can be to leave your animals with someone new. My goal is to make that as easy as possible for both you and your pet. I’m big on following routines, paying attention to the little details, and sending plenty of photo updates so you never have to wonder how they’re doing. I’m comfortable with: • Dogs and cats of all sizes and ages • Puppies and young, energetic pets • Shy, anxious, or slower-to-warm-up animals • Feeding and medication routines • Walks, playtime, enrichment, and lots of affection • Multiple-pet households • Keeping a close eye on changes in behavior, appetite, or energy My nursing background has made me especially attentive, dependable, and comfortable following detailed care instructions. I take pet safety seriously, but I also want your pet to have fun and feel genuinely loved while you’re away. Whether your pet wants long walks, endless fetch, couch cuddles, or someone to simply sit nearby until they feel comfortable, I’m happy to meet them where they are. I’ll care for them the way I’d want someone to care for my own. 🐾 I’d love to meet you and your pets and learn all of their little routines, quirks, and favorite things! I’m currently in college full-time. I have recently left my full time job to make more time for schooling. My days mostly involve massive amounts of studying, but in between that I am needing to fill my time with taking care of furry friends. I do not offer pet care at my home, but I do have two cats who think they are dogs. One named Sylvester Stallone and Storm.

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life, worked at a vet clinic, learned CPR for dogs, and dabbled in training as well. I’m efficient at giving medications (even injectables), can do basic training, am cautious with any other dog interactions while walking, and am detail oriented to provide the best care. I enjoy interacting with your pet and becoming a familiar face they look forward to seeing while you’re gone! Let me love your fur babies like I do my own! I currently stay at home mostly with my daughter and my own dogs, work part time, and have a little extra time to dedicate to others who need help taking care of their pets! I want your pet to feel comfortable with me and enjoy the time I get to spend with them. I don’t mind sitting there for a while to work on earning their trust. All dogs are different and require different approaches to meet their needs. I very much enjoy getting to love on them if they let me and creating a fun environment for them while you are away. I also enjoy training basics if that is something that interests you! My favorite thing to do is bring special treats to each visit (with permission of course)!

About: Experienced and devoted pet sitter with a heart for all creatures. Proud parent to three cats and a dog, providing exceptional care for every furry friend. About: Ive been raising dogs since I was a child. More pitbulls than any. I used to rescue pitbull dogs after they were injured due to fights, abuse etc. Ive been known to turn super aggressive pits into lap dogs. And I have 3 of my own now. I love dogs more than humans and eventually want to own my kennels and training- boarding and supply business soon. I can work anytime needed. Im not working an actual job everyday so can use all the hours I can get. Thanks so much for allowing me to care for your babies. I can watch your babies in your home anytime. I can take them for walks and help teach basic commands and tricks. I also know how to groom and can provide a ride to vet/ groomer, etc.

Brandi is wonderful - our dogs are a lil needy - one is high strung & constantly jumping, running & needing lots of attention & the other just had knee surgery so he has to be leash walked 4-6 times a day for rehab & potty breaks &&& both dogs take multiple meds several times a day - needless to say there is a serious chart to follow &&& Brandi never missed a beat. We feel very comfortable w Brandi in our home & caring for our beasts :-)

About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was about 10, I’m 21 now. My major is Pre-Veterinary because I’ve had a love for animals and dream of being a vet since I was 7. I have a cat of my own, Luna, and she’s my world. I treat her like a baby so I would love to share the same love to your fur babies! I work full-time as a manager at Walmart, and I’m a full time college student (online). I’m pretty fair and understanding with scheduling, as long as you reach out in advance. If my schedule doesn’t fit for you, I do not mind adjusting to accommodate you and your fur babies! I also don’t have an issue with last minute planning, just be mindful of scheduling issues or certain questions I asks in regards of the service you’ve requested! When caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and comfortable as possible. I make sure they are fed on schedule, have fresh water, and get plenty of exercise and attention throughout the day. I also monitor their behavior to make sure they are happy, healthy, and not feeling stressed while their owner is away. As well as in a clients home, I respect your space and specific instructions on pet care! Ensuring your pets and home’s safety is never an issue.

FAQs for House Sitting - Arp

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Arp on Rover is $33.3 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 177 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Arp. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Arp walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Arp maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Arp choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Arp. On Rover:

  • 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
