“Brenda is awesome! We always use Brenda (and her daughter, Hannah!) for our pet care! She is so good with our 2 boys and provides so many updates/photos to make us feel so comfortable leaving our dogs with them!”

“Ximena and Travis were amazing! They were so friendly and sent us picture updates. It was nice knowing our dogs were well taken care of and given the attention they deserve while we were out of town. We will definitely use them again! Highly recommend!”

“Amazing! Annie was so accommodating and easy to work with. She was so personable and I caught myself just wanting to chat with her about hockey. If I’m in the area again we will definitely use her again!”
“Matt was fantastic with our 2 rehomed 80lb dogs. There seemed to be no issues with either the dogs adjusting to Matt or Visa Versa.. He was in contact with us continually with photos and updates- a nice home with a yard gor them to exercise- would recommend 💯%”

“They took care of my pup very well while we were out of town for a few days. They have such a cozy home that I know my furry friend absolutely loved! They took my dog on several walks and gave her such love and care. They were very pleasant people and I look forward to using them again soon”

“As our first Rover experience, we felt we really hit the jackpot! Carol was so friendly and kind, and genuinely excited to spend a few days with our dog Milo. She didn’t blink an eye when Milo was unexpectedly prescribed medications he needed to be on during his stay with her. Milo was happy and tired when we picked him up. I couldn’t recommend Carol more!”

“My dogs always have the best time staying with Christy and her family. They are great with communication/updates. My boys are always loved when staying here. Can’t wait to book with them again! 😊❤️”

About: With over 15 years of experience caring for animals, I’ve had the opportunity to work with all kinds of pets and their unique needs. My experience includes working as a veterinary technician, pet and farm sitting, administering medications, wildlife rehabilitation, senior pet care, and exotic animal care—and that’s just the beginning! I understand that your pets are family, and leaving them in someone else’s care can be stressful. My goal is to provide the same patience, compassion, and attention to detail that I would want for my own animals, while giving you peace of mind knowing they’re in experienced and caring hands. We both work during the week, but we’re home the majority of the time on weekends and have a flexible schedule that allows us to give your pets plenty of attention. I work at a veterinary hospital just 3 minutes from home, so I’m able to easily come home throughout the day if needed. I also have extended lunch breaks, which gives me the opportunity to spend several hours at home during the day rather than leaving pets alone for long periods of time. Our schedule allows us to provide plenty of companionship, care, and attention throughout the day, so your pets can feel comfortable, loved, and right at home while you’re away. Our home is relaxed, loving, and easygoing, and we want every pet who stays with us to feel like part of the family. We do ask that all pets are comfortable around other animals so everyone can get along and have a safe, stress-free stay. We have a large, fully fenced backyard with a 6-foot privacy fence, giving the dogs plenty of safe space to run, play, and enjoy some fresh air. We spend lots of time outside playing, getting some exercise, and enjoying the yard together. And yes—dogs are absolutely welcome on the furniture and even in the bed! Our own two fur babies have us pretty well trained, so your pups can enjoy the same level of comfort. Your pet’s health and safety are incredibly important to us. I’m a trained veterinary technician and CPR-trained, so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in experienced hands. If a health concern ever comes up, I’m able to assess them and, if necessary, bring them with me to the veterinary hospital where I work so they can be properly evaluated. For the safety and health of every pet in our home, we require all visiting pets to be current on Bordetella, Distemper/Parvo, and Rabies vaccinations. We are also a flea-free home, so all pets must be on a current monthly flea and tick preventative. This is a requirement for every pet staying with us and helps ensure that everyone—including our own fur babies—stay happy, healthy, and comfortable. Our goal is simple: while you’re away, we want your pet to feel safe, loved, spoiled, and right at home.
About: I work from home and have one adult dog - Bandit (70lbs). He is mellow, and readily give up toys and beds to newcomers, and has had great fun with new friends, here and at his sitter's house when I travel. Your dog will enjoy a large fenced yard with lots of room to run, dig, play fetch, chase squirrels, etc. With a morning walk in the neighborhood, then naps and playtime throughout the day, I will keep your high-energy dog entertained, and provide a calm and safe environment for resting. If your dog prefers to be in a kennel, I have one available (my dog does NOT like the kennel, at all, so I only offer it as a place for your dog to nest.) I will send tons of pictures (or just a few, if you prefer) while you are away, so you can be assured that your dog is happy and relaxed. I’m sorry, but we are not accepting Pitbulls/mixes at this time. I work from home and will be here to care your pet 100% of the time they are here, to ensure they are safe and relaxed. I start each day around 7am with a walk with Bandit, and your dog is welcome to join us for a good sniffing walk to kick things off. After we get back, Bandit eats his breakfast and usually relaxes inside, especially in the summer when he prefers the A/C. Midday, he may sun himself in the backyard for a bit, but most of the time he hangs out inside. While I’m working, the dogs settle around my desk, either watching out the window or napping, and they get treats throughout the day. When the weather is cooler, we spend time on the screened‑in porch enjoying the breeze and watching the birds and squirrels. Evenings are quiet and relaxed, and end with a nightly dental bone at bedtime, which is typically around 9pm.
“First time ever using Chrissy for my 5 month pup she was wonderful sending pictures and updates on how my dog was doing . I loved that she was treated like a family pet allowed to not be crate all day , she was able to jump on couch and feel like home , play outside and join the other dogs for playtime . I highly recommend crissy care 5 stars ⭐️”

“Maria did a wonderful job with our 7 year old chocolate lab Rusty. Definitely would recommend and bring Rusty back in the future. She provided many photos and daily updates of our dog. Maria is friendly, polite and communicative throughout the process. Very nice, spacious home, appropriate for any size dog.”

About: What sets me apart is the deep, lifelong connection I’ve had with dogs. I’ve personally raised three pups from just six weeks old all the way through their senior years. Each one grew into a loving, obedient, and well-mannered companion, and I’ve been through every stage of life with them—from puppy energy to senior snuggles. That experience has given me a strong understanding of how to care for dogs at any age, whether it’s gentle patience with a new pup or extra comfort and support for older dogs. This is a truly dog-friendly home where your pet will feel like family. I have three kind and respectful kids who absolutely adore dogs and are always excited to welcome new furry friends into our home. Whether your pup loves to play, nap, or just follow someone around all day, there’s a warm spot (and probably a willing lap) waiting for them here. I don’t just watch dogs—I care for them as if they were my own. 🐾 Hi! I’m a school social worker with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District, and caring for others—whether it’s students or furry friends—has always been second nature to me. I’ve had a dog in my life since I was a teenager, and I truly believe dogs are one of the most perfect, loving animals on this earth. 💛 Over the years, I’ve trained dogs to go potty outside, sit, stay, lay down, heel on walks, and even speak when it’s treat time (a favorite trick in our house!). I’ve also raised multiple dogs from puppyhood through their senior years, so I’m comfortable with dogs at all life stages and energy levels. This is a dog-loving home, through and through. I have three kids who are gentle, kind, and absolutely adore dogs. There’s always a cozy corner, a warm cuddle, and plenty of love waiting for your pup here. Whether they want to play, nap, go on walks, or just soak up some attention, your dog will be treated like one of the family I do not have a fence in yard but it is partially fenced in. I do have a dog lead and I will always be outside
About: I currently have a dog Enigma.. She is a little mixed breed girl. When I stay at your house she does need to come with me. If it is necessary to keep her separated from your pack , that is not a problem. I always bring her carrier with us and if need be she would have no interactions with your animals. I have references who can attest to this. She likes cats, but I will not let her near yours When I look for a pet sitter I am looking for someone who will take care of my fur babies like I do. I have experience pet sitting with many sizes, breeds and ages of animals and specialize in big dogs and specical needs animals. I have a client that is blind, aand one that is deaf and another that was a diabetic. I have cared for dogs, cats, horses, cows,, ponies,, rats, reptiles, a tortoise, chickens, a miniature donkey, birds, goats, pigs and fish. I have watched up to 50 animals while working with animal sanctuaries and I have experience administrating medications. I can provide boarding for cats and dogs. I also courier animals to their new families across the country by either flying or driving. I love animals and will treat your animals as if they were my own. I am available nights, weekends and holidays. Having worked with animals I try and observe them to better relate to their wants and needs. Sending pics and updates daily to keep you posted on how your fur babies are doing is very important to me. Please do not assume that I will care for any other animals that you have for no charge. I Animal caretaker is my fill time job. I absolutely LOVE what I do! I find it very relaxing and rewarding to spend time with animals. I do not have a fenced in yard, but i do have a large outdoor pen for play time. Your animals health and happiness are my top priority. I will care for your fur babies and your home just as I do my own, with the utmost respect care that I can give. I am a USDA certified Class T transport carrier.
“Tabitha is genuinely a person that loves dogs and our pup couldn't have felt more at home while he was there!! She got him to eat his food (which is normally a problem), she made sure he had a plenty of play time as well as "alone nap time" which is what he prefers and basically just took great care of him overall. We will definitely reach out to Tabitha the next time we need a sitter because we know our pup is in good and safe hands, and she treats him like we do! We highly recommends her!!!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Anvil Rock home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Anvil Rock.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Anvil Rock sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
