“She was amazing with our boys!! I was nervous to leave them for a full week but that quickly changed as I got updates everyday with pictures! My boys were loved and taken care of and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.”

“Alishia is a great neighbor and dog sitter! I highly recommend. She was communicative the whole trip and made sure my dog was fed, had time to potty, and even some cuddles. I felt my dog and home was safe with her visiting when I needed her. Even when my dog fell sick, she went the extra mile to keep me posted and checking on her. I’m glad she is local to Chapel Hill and will be using her services again.”

“Jill M. is the Greatest Pet Sitter! Jill has taken care of my 2 cats on a number of occasions. She spends time and plays with them, and sends me photos of the visit. Jill cleans up the mess on the floor that one of the cats usually leaves, without complaint. I LOVE this company! I'll keep coming back, Jill!”

“Cassie was great with my big dogs and very communicative. This was my first time booking a pet sitter and she made the whole process comfortable. I highly recommend her and hope to book with her again.”

About: I have five cats and a dog currently and am always looking to play or help take care of a furry friend. I have previously worked in a daycare as well which helped me get a lot of experience in caretaking. I am not a permanent employee anywhere and have a flexible schedule so i’m able to work my plans around the needs of any pet. All work is either online or gig based so I am always available! I have the energy to keep up with hyper dogs but i also love the lazy dogs/ cats who just want me to pet them and hang out around them. whether your pet needs a workout or a nap session, i can keep up with it!
About: I have taken care of many dogs since I was a sophomore in high school, graduated in 2019. I volunteered and then became a worker at a groomer near me. Loved my job, and have cared for many animals since. Currently do not have a job, so I have a free schedule and nothing but love to give to the fur babies, including cats of course. I am very respectful to others homes and belongings. I only want to care for the animals, very trustworthy. If staying at my home, I am sure to take them out every hour, hour in a half unless given specific details. They have their free roam, I also have a pretty decent sized screen in back porch that they can run around a little in.

About: My passion for animal welfare extends beyond pet ownership. Over the years, I have volunteered with animal shelters and rescue organizations, including the Humane Society and ProCanine, assisting with the care, socialization, and well-being of dogs and cats awaiting adoption. As a vegetarian and lifelong animal advocate, I am deeply committed to treating every animal with compassion, patience, and respect. My volunteer work has given me experience working with pets of different ages, temperaments, and backgrounds, including animals that require extra attention, reassurance, or specialized care. I also have experience supporting basic veterinary care needs, including administering medications under guidance, monitoring animals during recovery, recognizing signs of illness or discomfort, and assisting with transportation to veterinary appointments. These experiences have helped me develop a strong understanding of animal behavior, health, and safety. Whether caring for a playful puppy, a senior cat, or a rescue animal adjusting to a new environment, I strive to provide attentive, reliable care that helps pets feel comfortable, safe, and loved. I part time as a substitute teacher and residential faculty member. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide reliable pet care before and after work, as well as on weekends. I’m available for drop-in visits, cat and dog care, feeding, litter box maintenance, playtime, and companionship. I understand the importance of consistency in a pet’s routine and will work with you to ensure your pet receives the care and attention they need while you’re away. As an educator and animal welfare volunteer, safety, trust, and responsibility are central to everything I do. I carefully follow each pet owner’s instructions regarding feeding, medications, routines, and household rules. I take the time to understand each pet’s personality and comfort level, allowing them to interact at their own pace. I maintain a clean and secure environment, monitor pets closely for any changes in behavior or health, and provide regular updates and photos so owners can feel confident that their pets are safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

“Hannah did an amazing job taking care of my bunny boy! We did a meet and greet a few days prior to my leaving date, and she was very excited and happy to watch my bunny boy! Both of us got along great. Hannah is very good with communicating to me anything about my bunny boy. Loved the pictures she took and the comments she left! A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Anchor Mill. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
