“She was wonderful!!! Very personable with my lab, Panini! I could tell Panini liked her at the meet and greet. She took great care of her and was great with communication. Highly recommend”

About: I’ve been around dogs since I was 5 years old and have owned more than three dogs throughout my life. I also have hands on experience from completing over 50 hours of volunteer work at El Paso Humane Society, where I helped groom, feed, and care for dogs while preparing them for adoption. I’m comfortable around dogs of different personalities and understand the importance of patience, and making them feel safe and loved. I am currently working part time on the weekends and I am attending UTEP as a sophomore. In weekends I would be available early mornings and weekdays would be early mornings along with afternoons. I have a big backyard for my dog to run around and get exercise and refill his water twice a day to keep up with him. At a client’s homes I will follow their instructions strictly. With my own dogs I give them all the walks they need to get exercise and have a fun day. I would treat a client’s dogs as my own.
“Dulce was absolutely fantastic. My senior dog was well cared for while I was away for a week, and my home was in perfect condition when I returned. Will definitely book again!”

“Thank you so much for taking my last-minute request! I truly appreciate how attentive and caring you were with Teddy, and for following all my instructions. I loved seeing how comfortable and happy Teddy was with you 🥰🐾 Also thank you, for responding so quickly! It was such a pleasure meeting you. We hope to see you again soon! 💕🐶”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! From the moment we left, he kept us updated with great communication, giving us complete peace of mind while we were away. It was clear that he genuinely cared not only for our dog but also for our home. When we returned, everything was exactly as we left it—our house was spotless, and our dog was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. He truly went above and beyond in every way, and it made all the difference knowing our home and pup were in such capable hands. If you’re looking for someone who is reliable, trustworthy, communicative, and genuinely cares, we can’t recommend him enough. We will absolutely be booking with him again in the future!”

“Excellent communication and my pets got lots of snuggles! Prompt, professional, lots of photos. It was really nice to be able to go have a night out and know I could relax because my fur babies were safe and happy. Will be booking again for sure!”

I’m very patient with animals. I love to go on walks and have recently been a fan of running would love to get your animal out and about. I do work in an office Monday-Friday, but I go in around 9 and am out of there by 3. I have my own vehicle to go to and from and even during my lunches I’d be able to sneak away. Weekends are 90% free for me and able to accommodate. I have the apartment all to myself where you wouldn’t worry about anyone else dealing with your pet. We also have a fenced dog park in my apartment complex we’d be able to utilize.
“Jacquiese did exactly what I laid out for them to do. She followed directions to a T, and my separation anxious dogs were much calmed than I seen before with sitters. I HIGHLY recommend Jacquiese.”

About: I have had all kinds of animals from childhood to now. We currently have three dogs: Brinkley is a lab, Champ is a Bassett, and Ellie is a chihuahua. We love adopting rescues, and I work well with dogs who are a bit nervous. I know how hard it is to leave your furbabies behind when you have to leave town, so I will make sure they feel safe and loved. I'm currently retired, so I can fit pet care into my day so it fits your pet's schedule. I'm available every day of the week and on the weekends. I can easily crate your dog if need be, walk them, and stay at your house for a few hours to let your dogs have play time with a person. Spending time playing is especially important to me if your pet is crated throughout the day.

I know how to be firm but gentle and loving and kind to animals
“I almost don’t want to leave such a stellar review because I selfishly want to keep Michelle’s skills/service a secret to avoid her being unavailable when I and my fur babies need her. She was an absolutely delight. Not only did she make sure my furbabies were well cared for and my house taken care of, I felt that I came back to my house being cleaner than when I left it! If you are in need of any pet/house sitting services I would 100% recommend, Michelle!”

About: I’ve spent my life around animals with a lifelong interest and love for them, from volunteering at shelters in my youth to working with wild horses and on conservation projects. More recently, I’ve worked in veterinary clinics and hospitals since last August, including my time as a vet assistant at Wadsworth Animal Hospital. With two biology degrees and a background in clinical care, I’m very comfortable with medical needs, senior pets, and specialized care. I treat every pet with the same professional attention and genuine heart I give my own dog of 5 years 💛 I’m currently a grad student with a flexible schedule, which means I have plenty of time to dedicate to your pets. I'm available for walks and drop-ins throughout the day, and I can accommodate house sitting easily. My schedule allows for frequent check-ins and plenty of one-on-one playtime and attention. Your pets are family, and I treat them that way. Between my hospital background and years of caring for my own dog, I'm super observant about their moods, wellbeing, body language, and comfort. I'm quick to spot if something is off, and I'm very comfortable with meds or special medical needs. I love keeping their routines exactly how they like them so they (and you!) feel safe and happy while you’re away.
“Sophia and her husband are great! She was available and communicative. Shes very open and understanding. She took great care of my little nugget and was also able to come pick him up. I will use her again!”

“Reuben showed up for an emergency dog sitting, for us and our 2 dogs. He did a fantastic job with our dogs. He sent many pictures and communicated with us very well. We are very happy with Reuben and his help with our babies. Thanks again!”

“Gizelle was amazing help and very communicative throughout her entire care of my babies. My children can be very picky and special but she took the time to get to know them and she was very attentive to their needs. From a last minute booking she definitely took on my request with no hesitation and she was very kind and respectful. I would love to have her care for my babies again. Thank you!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 347 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Alvarado. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Alvarado walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Alvarado maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Alvarado choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
