“She was so amazing! So attentive and very communicative! It allowed me to feel calm knowing my dogs were happy and safe with her in my home. 10/10 recommend! Will be my forever dog sitter! My pups love her!”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! From the moment we left, he kept us updated with great communication, giving us complete peace of mind while we were away. It was clear that he genuinely cared not only for our dog but also for our home. When we returned, everything was exactly as we left it—our house was spotless, and our dog was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. He truly went above and beyond in every way, and it made all the difference knowing our home and pup were in such capable hands. If you’re looking for someone who is reliable, trustworthy, communicative, and genuinely cares, we can’t recommend him enough. We will absolutely be booking with him again in the future!”

About: As a pet mom of 17 to 18 years, I have experience in taking care of both cats and dogs. I have had my fur babies since I was a child so I am also familiar with taking care of kittens/puppies as well as special care for senior dogs and senior cats with arthritis, kidney disease, and seizures. I have an especially soft spot for cats but adore all animals the same. Every fur baby deserves to feel safe and loved. I am currently focusing on my small crochet business so my schedule is pretty flexible. I prefer to work in the afternoons, as mornings are the bane of my existence. But! I am open to working in the mornings if needed <3 Whether its taking them for a walk, playing till their hearts content, cleaning up after especially messy babies (including dreaded baths), scheduled feeding, supplying them with a cozy lap to nap on, or even special care such as giving medication, or caring for senior babies. Anything they would need, I would be delighted to do it all for your baby to feel safe and loved while their parents are away!

“Chase loved having Annelise stay with him! She did a great job communicating and sending pictures and videos of him while I was gone. I would highly recommend booking with Annelise!”

About: Precious pet owner of a Saint Bernard her name was Cleo. I’ve also babysat for multiple families where I was involved sitting for their animals as well mainly dogs and cats a few times. I’m very patient with animals. I love to go on walks and have recently been a fan of running would love to get your animal out and about. I do work in an office Monday-Friday, but I go in around 9 and am out of there by 3. I have my own vehicle to go to and from and even during my lunches I’d be able to sneak away. Weekends are 90% free for me and able to accommodate. I have the apartment all to myself where you wouldn’t worry about anyone else dealing with your pet. We also have a fenced dog park in my apartment complex we’d be able to utilize.

About: I have had all kinds of animals from childhood to now. We currently have three dogs: Brinkley is a lab, Champ is a Bassett, and Ellie is a chihuahua. We love adopting rescues, and I work well with dogs who are a bit nervous. I know how hard it is to leave your furbabies behind when you have to leave town, so I will make sure they feel safe and loved. I'm currently retired, so I can fit pet care into my day so it fits your pet's schedule. I'm available every day of the week and on the weekends. I can easily crate your dog if need be, walk them, and stay at your house for a few hours to let your dogs have play time with a person. Spending time playing is especially important to me if your pet is crated throughout the day.
About: Zoo Keeper from El Paso, Tx. Other than rhinos and Elephants I have volunteered and cared for animals at animal services since I was 11 years old. I have two big dogs at home who are very spoiled and a turtle named Ozzy that I rescued. I also know how to take care of fish as I have a pond of my own. I have experience with dog walking all sized dogs and have experienced senior dogs in the past. I’m very patient and would love to meet your fur babies ❤️ Im available all day Fridays and Saturdays. Other days im available early mornings and evenings after 5pm. I can walk dogs more than an hour a day or simply taking them out to potty. My own dogs have a set routine everyday and are trained to use the restroom outside. They have a fenced in dog run and when we are home with them they are never left unattended. I make sure they are well fed especially since my Great Dane is on restrictions due to medical reasons before he was adopted. Before we rescued him he was a skinny boy and now he’s my couch potato 🥔
“She was wonderful!!! Very personable with my lab, Panini! I could tell Panini liked her at the meet and greet. She took great care of her and was great with communication. Highly recommend”

“Sanjuanita did an amazing job taking care of Raven! She took her on walks, let her play outside, and gave Raven her meds when needed. Sanjuanita also provided lots of pics and updates during my time away. I felt assured Raven was well taken care of. I would definitely reach out to her for next trip out of town!”

About: I love dogs of all kinds, but I have a soft spot for anxious or reactive dogs. I know how to give them the extra patience and care they need. My own dog brings light to my world so I know how special it is to trust someone with your best friend. I provide dog sitting, dog walking, and house sitting. I have a dog myself so I’m familiar with how to care for dogs. I don’t work currently so I’m free every week day and weekend! I can crate pets, feed them, play with them, and clean up after them! I know how to be firm but gentle and loving and kind to animals

I take the time to build trust at your pet’s pace, keeping their routine consistent so they feel safe and relaxed while you’re away. “Michelle was a perfect fit for our needs. She had very good communication with us and kept us abreast also with photos of our dog. She also took great care of our two cats. Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 346 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Alvarado. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Alvarado walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Alvarado maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Alvarado choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
