About: Welcome! ✨ My name is Eve, and your fur babies will feel right at home here 💛 I’ve cared for animals my entire life and have been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. I currently live on a farm in Makanda with my partner, where we share our home with horses, chickens, ducks, pigs, rabbits, five friendly farm dogs, and two farm cats. Our animals are well-socialized and love meeting new furry friends and people alike. Your pets will have plenty of space to play and explore, with a fenced backyard and lots of open acreage to enjoy safely. We take daily walks around the property, provide lots of love and attention, and enjoy sending photo updates throughout your pet’s stay so you can feel connected while you’re away. No worries if your fur babes can’t come stay with us — I’m also available to travel to you and care for them in the comfort of their own home while you’re away ✨ I treat every animal like family and strive to create a calm, loving, and comfortable environment for each guest 💛 I work from home, mostly available everyday of the week. I can check on your pet throughout the day for walks or simply for hang time. If needed, I’m able to provide animals the proper medication for their individual needs. I’ll always ensure that your fur babies are safe and given adequate attention! I love to give periodic picture updates while going on walks or during play time.
“Gabrielle took GREAT care of our dog while we were on vacation! She kept us updated, sent lots of pictures, and made sure he got plenty of walks. We will definitely be rebooking!”

“Emily was amazing. Incredibly flexible and accomodating. Booked her last minute and she made it very smooth and effortless. Our puppy, Frankie, was clearly well cared for and snuggled. She responded quickly to any questions or messages and sent us pictures during our quick trip out of town. She gave us complete peace of mind. Thanks Emily!”

About: I’ve had a dog of my own since 2018, Ciri and I started when she could fit in my hand. Since then, I’ve added two more dogs to the home and it’s come in all types. I’ve dealt with them deathly sick, scared, nervous, hyper, and sleepy. I work full time at SIUC, but my friend and roommate is a retired Army veteran who spends most of his time at home. Unless something very unexpected happens, the dogs are not left alone for more than 4 hours. My house has two separately fenced in yards and I have three friendly dogs of my own and my roommate has one cat. We’re laidback and at constant war with husky hair, but we get by with optional crating and indoor and outdoor time whenever your pup needs it.
“I would 100% recommend erin! She is absolutely the best with our baby boy thor. Our dog could be a handful at times but he is the sweetest. You could just tell that they bonded for just even a few days we left him. I would not hesitate to leave him with her cause I know she will take good care of our boy! ?”

“Tori and Malik were great! The first picture posted let me know Bonnie was very comfortable. They had a beautiful area to walk her and I could tell she was having a great time. So appreciative of their caring and loving feelings toward my Bon! A million thanks.”

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
