“Jennifer was easy to communicate with prior to the booking and while she had my pups. She would send daily updates with pictures and/or videos which helped with being apart from them! In all the videos and pictures my dogs seemed so happy and at ease. At pickup they were in no distress and happy. Jennifer worked with me when it came to drop off and pick up times which helped out so much with working and trying to plan leaving for a trip. We will definitely be using Jennifer again.”

“I can’t give Anna enough good reviews she is literally my go to every time I need a sitter for BJ and she never lets me down! BJ absolutely loves being with Anna and he always comes home happy and tired from a fun day. Thank you Anna you’re the best!”

“Easy communication and lots of photos of the fun our girls were having! Morgan & Mason are kind and loving, and we could tell they took the time to get to know our dogs and their personalities. Would absolutely board with them again and highly recommend!”

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life—since I was 5 years old. My mom is a dog groomer, and I worked with her for years, which gave me hands-on experience with dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and needs. I currently have three of my own, ranging from 40 to 190 lbs, so I’m very comfortable handling large breeds and high-energy pups. I’m confident with everything from basic care to reading dog body language and managing senior or anxious dogs with patience and calm energy. I work from home, so I’m home all day and able to give your pet plenty of attention, playtime, and potty breaks. My flexible schedule means I can easily stick to your dog’s routine and be available for walks, feedings, and cuddle time throughout the day. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I take the time to understand each pet’s routine, personality, and any special needs or quirks. I follow instructions closely, keep a clean and calm environment, and never leave pets unattended in unsafe situations. I also give regular updates so you always know how your pet is doing. My goal is to make sure they feel secure, happy, and at home—wherever they are.

“Catherine watched our 2 dogs while we were out of town for a few days. They had a blast! We got daily updates and photos, and the pups were definitely loved on by her and her family while we were gone. We will definitely ask her to petsit again when we are out of town, and would highly recommend her to others!”

About: I grew up on a farm. My mom raised puppies and kittens. Growing up I lived with at least eight dogs and eight cats at a time (in a small trailer). Now I live in a small house with room outside to walk a dog-- and can even take them to a trail or creek if you wish. I am not scared of aggressive animals. Some pets need more attention than others! I am a house cleaner from 7:30AM to about 11AM-3PM (it depends on the houses). However, I can make time to come home in between work for your pet. I am free all day on weekends. I have a small grass field, a safe neighborhood, and a cozy home. I make sure your pet always has water and food (unless otherwise specified) and attention.

“Jamie, did an awesome job caring for my Millie, she communicated with me daily as well as sent me daily pictures. My English Bulldog is not used to being away from home but she seemed to adapt to spending time with Jamie and her family well.”

About: I have grown up with dogs for my entire life and I now have a cat of my own. I have taken care of friends and families animals in the past and I am very reliable, caring, and friendly. Animals bring me so much joy and I treat any animal as if it were my own. I am working in a salon four days out of the week but I will be available in the mornings and the evenings of any day to provide attention to your pet. Given that I have a cat of my own, I know how angry and hurt I would be if I put her in the care of someone else and she was neglected. With that being said, you can trust that I will not put you in that position! Animals are innocent and unable to communicate their needs. Not only will I provide the essentials, I will go above and beyond to make sure your pet is happy and comfortable!
“Ally was so amazing with my Goose! She absolutely loved playing with all her goldens! Ally was super responsive to any question or text I sent and also sent daily updates with pictures! Will definitely be rebooking with Ally, she’s a wonderful person to watch your babies!”

About: Hi! My name is Emma and I’m a student at the Univeristy of Alabama! I’ve been dog sitting/walking throughout highschool and college, and I have a few pups of my own back home :) I’ve also done some dog fostering as well. Im currently a full time student, but have lots of free time during my day as an online student. I have a part time job aside from Rover, but am very flexible! I absolutely adore dogs and I take time to take mine on long walks daily when I’m back home from school. Exercise and play is super important to me!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Alpine Hills home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Alpine Hills.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Alpine Hills sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
