“Hailey to the rescue! My husband and I were in a pinch and required in-home dog sitting last minute. Hailey was quick to help and clearly communicated any adjustments to the schedule required to accommodate her day to day schedule. Pups were happy and house was well kept. Would book again in a heartbeat ☺️.”

“Erica was prompt with all communication and I’m pretty sure my home is cleaner than I left it. I appreciated her frequent updates, especially considering our dog can be a handful. I’m glad to have found a trustworthy sitter who is willing to care for our pet in our own home. We’ve already booked her again!”

“Bailee was recommended to us by two of our trusted friends. She was very personable and seemed to care about our dogs. She stayed with them overnight and spent a lot of time with them. We will definitely use her again if she is available.”

About: I love all animals and enjoys their company. I'd love to take care of your dog(s) and cats while you're away, so you don't have to worry. When I'm not traveling, I work from home full time, so animals will have plenty of attention and go outside pretty frequently. I have a large yard on rural property and there's a dirt road to get in a several walks. Your dog will have supervised and/or leashed access to the outdoors. There's a lot of room to run. I have had experience handling medications for animals for several years, as my cocker spaniel took medications for glaucoma and congestive heart failure. You can trust that your pup will be spoiled here, like one of my very own. :) I am currently home full time but job hunting so animals have care 24/7. Hoping to find remote work but if this changes I will update here. My animals are friendly with all dogs. I keep all dogs leashes while outdoors. We make sure all doors are closed and all food and poison items are not within reach

About: Currently at home i have 2 dogs, i have been taking care of dogs since around 12 years old. I love learning about a dog’s personality, and finding fun things that can tire them out! I love all kinds of dogs but i particularly love larger dogs. I have a Goldendoodle at home and have been around German Shepherds and Mastiffs growing up, so no matter the breed i am excited to get to know them! I just had a newborn so my client pet care will center on weekends so that i can help my wife throughout the week. I care for 3 animals at home daily, so travelling to take care of other dogs will not be an issue. Whether in my home or a client’s home, im always vigilant in keeping a tidy area as dogs are curious and can get into potentially harmful items. I will usually see if they need to potty every 4-5 hours depending on the time they ate, and i always make sure they have water and something to entertain them.
“Melissa was an absolute dream to work with for my two standard poodles! She stayed at my house while I was away, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. When I came home, the house actually looked better than when I left it — everything was neat, clean, and in perfect order. She sent wonderful photos and updates throughout the trip, which gave me so much peace of mind knowing my pups were happy and well cared for. I came home to happy, relaxed, well-exercised dogs who clearly adored her. This was hands-down the best pet sitting experience I’ve ever had. I will definitely be using Melissa again for future trips! Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“Deborah was Great! She took excellent care on my 2 fur babies! She was very attentive and loving. I loved the photos and updates during the days, kept my mind at ease. When we returned, they were happy and well fed. I can see that Deborah went out of her way to make sure that they ate, cause my pups never eat when we leave them. She left the house meticulous, I will definitely be booking Deborah for my future trips!! ?. Thank you Deborah”

About: I have been pet sitting for about 5 years now! With lots of experience with senior dogs and animals in need of more attentive care! I am fully available to housesit along with pets! I work a wonky schedule but the animal or persons baby also comes first! I am fully available 7 days a week! I am much more able to give my upmost priority and attention when staying with the animal in their home. I am not able to host animals at the moment. Not until I move. If that was not going on I would absolutely be able to host.
“Elizabeth was the perfect house sitter and companion for our dog, Pringles! Her communication and service were superb. We will definitely invite her back!”

About: I have hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of animals and feel very comfortable handling pets with different needs and personalities. I currently work in recreational therapy twice a week, which has helped me develop patience, responsibility, and strong attention to detail skills that carry over into providing safe and attentive pet care. As an online college student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give pets the time, consistency, an supervision they deserve. At home, our family has five dogs, so I am very familiar with managing multiple pets at once and maintaining consistent schedules. In addition to daily care, I have experience with overnight dog sitting that includes week-long stays where I handled feeding, walks, playtime and managing pet's normal routines. I have cared for puppies, senior dogs, and cats and I understand how to adjust care depending on energy level and age. I have also taken care of chickens while house sitting, so I am comfortable with a variety of animals beyond just dogs and cats. I am able to drive, which allies me to be available for drop ins, walks, and emergencies if needed. Overall, I am dedicated to making families feel safe with leaving their pets at home and making the pets feel comfortable and cared for while their owners are away. I currently work part time and am an online college student. I work Wednesday and Friday nights from 4pm-9pm. For my college classes I do not have to be on any type of zoom, so I do my course work at my own pace. I provide care in my clients home so pets can stay in a familiar, low-stress environment and maintain their normal routine. I follow all care instructions including feeding schedules, walks, medications if needed, and any specific preferences the owner provides. Safety is my top priority. I make sure doors, gates, and crates are secure and keep pets aware from anything that may be unsafe. I work to build trust with both owners and pets by being consistent, patient, and respectful of each pet's personality. I also have reliable transportation, so if an emergency does arise I can provide additional needs.
“Kylie was awesome! Very communicative and punctual. She took great care of our pup and made sure she recieved the attention she needed. If she's available, you should book with her ASAP!”

“Chelsea was absolutely amazing. I had her come to my house and meet my Buddy right away, I knew she was the one!! My dog takes medication no problem giving it to him. She just has such a nice way about her and her love for animals. Definitely will be having her back to watch my Buddy on our next vacay. Highly Recommended”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Allnut walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Allnut maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Allnut choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Allnut. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
