“Sarah was pleasant to work with! She kept in touch to let us know everything was going well. Our dog really seemed to enjoy himself. We will definitely be using Sarah again :)”
“Madyson was excellent with my dog Copper! His stay with her and Sparky involved lots of play time, cuddles, and great communication with us! Madyson is very attentive with any needs Copper has. I would highly recommend her!”
“This was the 2nd time Nicole watched Pepper for me, this time it was for a couple of days. She takes such good care of him, treats him like he’s her own little guy. Nicole is amazing!”
“Michelle is absolutely amazing!! As soon as I got there i knew that Rocky was going to be well taken care of, loved and treated like their own. She was very welcoming, reassuring and kind. Will definitely book again!”
“This is the fourth time that we have taken Atlas to Michelle’s. He gets excited as we get closer to dropping him off. I don’t know what their “secret sauce” is, but our dog seems very happy to go there when we travel! We are definitely fans!”
“We were in a pinch, because our dog sitter backed out the day we were leaving for vacation. We talked with Christina and Daniel and they were able to take him that same day and all the way through our vacation. We had never left our dog in a kennel before, and felt very comfortable with him being there. The barn was very clean and he had his own stall to himself. He was walked daily and we got updates and pictures on how he was doing throughout the week. We will definitely be using them for any future vacations!”
“Pablo had a great time with Jessica, Theo and the kids! They kept me up to date on how he was doing and he came back tired, so I know he had a good vacation! :) Pablo is looking forward to seeing them again!”
“Amanda and Jack were absolutely amazing! My girl, Onyx, had an issue with her elbow, and they handled the situation with incredible care, compassion, and professionalism. They kept me updated with photos throughout her stay, which gave me tremendous peace of mind, and they even took her on a nature hike so she could enjoy some time outdoors. It's clear they genuinely care about the animals they look after. I highly recommend Amanda's services and wouldn't hesitate to trust them with Onyx again!”
“Debbie and Adam were amazing! So happy I found them to pet sit my two boys. I received multiple pictures a day and could tell they were having a blast. Highly highly recommend them for pet sitting! Definitely will be booking with them again.”
“We had Amber watch our dog for our daughter’s wedding weekend! It was the first time she met Stella. We were very pleased with Amber and her family. She was kind enough to communicate with me over the 3 nights and she even sent pictures to us. It was a huge relief to know our dog was being taken care of so well ! We will DEFINITELY be booking again with Amber!”
“Melissa is an angel! She is incredible with all dogs and so accommodating and kind, even with some very short notice help we needed. Our senior dog loved her and her yard, I cannot recommend her enough, we are so happy we have found her for future sitting.”
“Deanna was great and able to work with my 60-pound deaf puppy, and Maxwell loved having fellow dog friends to spend time with. Came back absolutely tuckered out.”
“This was our first time boarding with Amber and we couldn't have been happier. She was extremely accommodating with our timeline and provided pictures & feedback throughout our girls visit... this put our minds at ease allowing us to focus on a family matter. Our girl came home happy & tired!!!”
“Nelia and her family took amazing care of our dog. He was upset about us leaving but the minute he realized he was at her house he couldn’t wait to get in there fast enough. We got lots of updates about how he ate and slept (well!) and while he’s glad to be home it is very clear he had a wonderful time and was very well taken care of. Thanks again!”
“Tina was great. The nice perk is she has a big yard and a doggie door so my Yorkie could go in and out of her house whenever he wanted to. He is very attached to people and she took very good care of him!”
“Jeremy was so patient and kind with our nervous little rat terrier. He clearly knows what he's doing. Gus was well cared for and came home happy. We will definitely board with him again!”
“Victoria did a great job with my Charlie. She introduced the other residents staying with her gradually so he was not overwhelmed. She keeps good control of all the dogs. She is very communicative both in setting up the appointment as well as during the visit itself, and sends videos and text updates. The only thing I was not crazy about was the artificial grass in her yard instead of real grass, but other than that, she did a great job for me.”
“Samantha was FABULOUS! My dogs seemed so relaxed and at home with her and her family! I will 100% send my dogs in their own vacation with Samantha the next time my family and I go out of town! 🐶🥰”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Allison home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Allison.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Allison sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
