Valerie has been checking in on our pup for the last several weeks and taking him for walks and we couldn’t recommend her more! She is very easy to communicate with and is great at keeping us updated about how he is doing! We will definitely continue asking her to take our doggo on walks!

About: From day 1 I have been the BIGGEST dog lover 🐶🥰 From having some of my own, to taking care of my friends and family’s dog, to play dates with other family pets. I absolutely adore having a built in best friend at your ankles day to day and always there to snuggle and play. What a dream to be able to care for other peoples babies! They will be well taken care of 🐾 I currently work just part time. I’m available on weekends currently, Mondays & Thursdays all day! My other days I can walk your pup after 5 🥰 We live in the country! Lots of room for running and our dog to play with as a companion. Willing to help fit your pups needs. Plenty of walking available around us as well.

About: Hi there! I’m an avid animal lover with a gentle, patient approach to pet care. I share my home with a sweet kitty named Evie and my rescue beagle, Mylo: a lovable goofball who keeps me humble and well‑trained. I always look after every pet with the same attentiveness, patience, and high quality care I give my own little crew. 🐾 󠁺 Before pursuing social work, I actually planned to become a veterinary technician, and that early passion for animals has stayed with me. I’ve volunteered at the Wabash animal shelter, spent years riding horses, and gained hands‑on experience with all kinds of personalities and needs. Mylo, who struggles with anxiety, has taught me a lot about de‑escalating reactivity and building trust through positive reinforcement. He also takes daily medication, so I’m very comfortable administering meds and following specific care routines. Mylo likes to think of it as his “evening treat with extra steps.” 󠁺 Over the past several years, I’ve pet‑sat for friends, family, and their extended circles. This has allowed me to care for pets of all ages and ranging needs. No matter the temperament, I adapt to each animal’s personality, mood, and boundaries. Striving to create a calm, reassuring environment where your pet feels understood is central to my approach as a caregiver. 󠁺 Please reach out if you have any questions! Your pet's comfort is my priority ❤️ My schedule is currently very open as I wrap up my internship, and I’m available for daily check‑ins, walks, and overnight stays! Please feel free to reach out with any questions, I’m always happy to connect. ❤️🐕‍🦺🎾 I love caring for pets where they feel safest, their home 🏡🐾. While I’m there, I carefully follow your pet’s routine and keep their space clean and comfortable, so you return to a happy, relaxed fur baby and a home that feels just as you left it (or better).

About: I have worked in the pet industry for 10 years. I have done everything from cleaning kennels, to working as a vet assistant in a clinic. I also have experience with farm and exotic animals. I currently don't have furbabies of my own, but I find them very therapeutic to interact with. Life is boring without furbabies in my life. I will enter the home as instructed by owners, and proceed in a professional manner. I will use my education as a vet assistant and future vet tech to ensure the animal(s) experience minimal upheaval of their daily routines.

Hannah is absolutely wonderful! She handled our three crazy beagles flawlessly and they absolutely adore her! We will definitely be asking Hannah to help us with our babies weekly while we are at work. Also very relieved to have found someone that we trust to watch our dogs when we are out of town. If you’re thinking about booking with Hannah, definitely do it.

About: I love bonding and interacting with the families and their pets. I love the enjoyment of animals and giving them extra love while their owners are away! I work Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but I'm able to stop by during my lunch break for potty breaks, walks, feedings, and check-ins when needed. Before and after work, I dedicate plenty of time to walks, playtime, cuddles, and keeping pets on their normal routine. On evenings and weekends, I have even more flexibility to give your pet the attention, love, and care they deserve. I can't currently have animals stay in my home. But depending on what the client is looking for, I can drop by their home and visit or stay with that animal if need be.

About: I've had dogs and cats in my home since the day I was born. I've grown up taking care of our pets, as well as pets of family and friends. I will always give your pets tons of attention and love! I'm a college student with a very flexible schedule. I can largely work around your needs and be available accordingly, AM or PM and overnight if needed. My dogs sleep in my room, I feed them first thing in the morning, take them out for a morning stroll and bathroom time, walk them in the afternoon, and feed and take them out at night before bed. I also play with the dogs regularly (inside and outside), give ear rubs and belly rubs, and make sure they have water always.

I keep an open schedule! I am able to take your pets on walks! As long as it’s not raining I would love to take your little ones on walks. I keep animals close when a vehicle is near. About: I’ve been caring for animals since I was 7 years old, starting with my own pets and helping neighbors with theirs. Now that I’m 18, I have two pets of my own and have trained them myself using basic commands like sit, stay, shake, and more. I understand the importance of providing pets with patience, love, consistency, and attentive care, and I’ll treat your furry family members as if they were my own. I enjoy keeping a consistent routine, which helps me provide reliable care for every pet. My mornings typically begin with feeding, potty breaks, and a walk or playtime. Throughout the day, I make time for exercise, enrichment, fresh water, and lots of attention. In the evenings, I focus on another walk, feeding, playtime, and making sure pets are comfortable before bedtime. Caring for animals fits naturally into my daily life because I’ve always had pets and enjoy spending time with them. Whether it’s walks, play sessions, training, or simply giving them love and companionship, I make sure every pet feels safe, happy, and cared for while their family is away. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I will follow their normal routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. I’ll make sure they are fed on schedule, have fresh water, get plenty of potty breaks, exercise, playtime, and lots of love and attention. I’ll also administer any medications if instructed, keep their living area clean, and respect your home by leaving it just as I found it. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away, and I’ll provide regular updates and photos for your peace of mind.

About: I absolutely live for pets to get the care they deserve. After all, our pets are part of our family. I have always had family pets and feel like they are an extension of our family. I work from home and I have a very flexible schedule. If you call...I'm there to take care of your furry friend. It simply takes one phone call for great service. I provide great service to all my clients when ever they need me to go to their home to care for their furry friends. Allow me the possibility to become an extension of your family. Pet care fits my work schedule because I work part time. I can free my schedule anytime. Having a flexible schedule just means I can spend more time with your furry friend and I don't have to be in a rush to get back to work. I have always pampered my pets. They all have a little personality, we just have to take the time to really understand them. Allowing them to be home and comfortable while you are away is the perfect time for you to see.. though the lens of a camera. Enjoy the new video communication!

About: I've been taking care of dogs almost all my life. I've had so many different breeds in my lifetime. I love all kinds of animals but definitely have to say dogs are my favorite! I work on my time. I book cleanings and caregiving help to older adults. So if I have a job for sitting lined up I just don't accept any cleaning jobs. I do sitting, walking, and boarding. I can accommodate up to two large dogs and I have a safe area for walks and playtime. I also can come to pets home if needed to do potty breaks ect.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 812 sitters on Rover offering Dog Walking across Alaska. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Alaska. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Alaska.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Alaska. On Rover:

  • 90% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
