About: Animals have been a big part of my life for many years. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, as well as cats, horses, birds, reptiles, and other farm animals. Having owned dogs ranging from 4 to 125 pounds, I’m comfortable with a wide variety of breeds, temperaments, and care needs. I can administer medications to most dogs and am happy to follow detailed instructions for feeding, exercise, and daily routines. I know how important consistency is for pets, and I work hard to care for them exactly as you would. I love taking photos and sending regular updates, so you’ll know your pet is happy, safe, and receiving plenty of attention while you’re away. My goal is to provide reliable, compassionate care and give you peace of mind. I have recently retired from full-time employment as a teacher. I spend my free time with the animals on my small personal farm and volunteering with Save the Horses Rescue. I prefer to care for pets in their own environments, adhering closely to their regular routines and feeding. Keeping schedules structured minimizes stress for most animals. I understand the importance of a consistent diet, especially when owners are away.
“Dawn was an excellent pet sitter for our two cats! We just moved and were worried about leaving them in our new home for several days. Prior to our visit Dawn came by for an introduction to the home and visit with our cats. They immediately took to her which isn't always the case. About: I have over 15 years of animal care experience, I grew up with dogs and cats. But I also have experience with turtles, rabbits, and chickens. I worked at a zoo in college and love animals of all shapes and sizes, I’ll always do my best to care for your animals! I’m currently a stay at home dad working on my masters degree. Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
