“We found Stephen to be a very responsible person who truly enjoys caring for animals. He is very caring and loves playing with your pet. Stephen and his family quickly bonded with both Sandy and Beau and provided excellent care. He is very attentive and conscientious. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a dependable, caring, and knowledgeable person to care for their furbaby. His rates are very reasonable, and he provides exceptional service.”

“Nathan was wonderful to work with! He was warm and welcoming to our 5 month old puppy, sent photos to us almost daily, and was very responsive to our questions. We would definitely feel comfortable leaving Hannah with Nathan again.”

“Lorena was great with our dog, Gus, He was a little shy when got to her house and she spent some time with him. At the end of his stay he was part of the pack! We got updates and pictures throughout the visit which we enjoyed. We highly recommend her.”

“Heather has hosted our 88 lbs yellow lab Chewy for extended overnight stays twice now. We know he's enjoyed the stay because he is eager to get in her door when we drop him off - and he's tired from all the play and fun when we pick him up days later. She does a great job communicating with us and takes his mischief with good humor. Will definitely continue to board him with her.”

“If you want your dog to feel like a part of the family, be socialized, and get tons of play time definitely book with Julie. She took great care of my dog and did an amazing job at sending updates of her. Will definitely book again.”

“I’m so grateful to Kelsi for responding quickly to my last-minute, late-night request! I felt completely at ease leaving Faf with her and her wonderful family. Thank you for taking such great care of him on short notice and for spoiling him with yogurt and peanut butter treats! I will definitely reach out again when we’re back at Kings Dominion.”

“Our family found dog Vacay just a few days before leaving for our vacation and we are grateful we did! We were even more grateful to find Courtney, she made our dog Popeye feel at home. She provided us with regular updates on how Popeye was adjusting, eating, sleeping, etc. We are appreciative of her kindness and patience while we were away. She is definitely a gem. Thanks Courtney!”

“She was beyond awesome and patient with Sally. She even gave Sally two baths due to her running around in mud, without me even asking. Andrea is the go to for dog sitting! My dog almost didn't want to go home because she made so many new friends.”

“Hank came home exhausted which means he had a blast. Cynthia did a great job in every Dept from communication to updates throughout the weekend. We were extremely pleased with her work.”

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
