About: I’ve had animals since birth. Large and small dogs, many, many cats, and even a few caged animals. I cared for my last dog for 16 years and have experience with senior care because of him, including medication and mobility help and he was 100lbs+. I love animals of all kinds, I’ve worked for a stable where we took care of 30+ horses per day, and as you can see from my photos I gravitate towards all sorts of animals even goats, alligators, and llamas! I work part time but have weird hours so I can also help with weird hours. I have 3 days off every week and have open availability on those days, the other days I’m available before or after work. About: I’ve had 2+ dogs in my entire life. In my adult life I’ve had 2+ service dogs that travel with me. I am a critical care nurse who has taken pet CPR as far as safety. I have emergency meds as well. Luckily, I have a house with a fences in yard, animal friendly household with spare rooms and a heated/cooled garage/closed/secured garage for any kind of special separation needs (in heat/aggressive breeds/outside animals, etc). While I do personalize my schedule to fit your pet specifically, my typical day is scheduled like this and changed as needed, just to give you a better idea of your pet's time with me: When I arrive, I always spend time making sure your pet is happy, comfortable, and has everything they need. When staying with them overnight, I will keep them company until morning, make sure they have everything they need and get some pets or playtime in, then I will leave as needed to tend to any other appointments, making sure to return to check-in and spend time with them at minimum every 3-4 hours, unless more frequently is needed. Whether you just need a daily check in and play time for your cat while you're away, or if you need someone to take your pup out every couple of hours along with walks and lots of play time, or even if you have an older pup who can't really spend time alone at all, we can definitely make a plan to suit your family purrr-fectly. Your pet's safety is always my top priority. Whether at home, in the car, at the vet, out for a walk, or at the park, I am always extremely diligent to make sure your pet stays safe and sound. I always use doggy seatbelts or enclosures when driving, reflective strips and flashlights at night, ramps and manual assistance for mobility-challenged pups, predator-deterrent to protect them from harm, and vet-approved chews or boredom busters to make sure your pup is happier and healthier when you arrive back home. Out of an abundance of caution, I typically do not have pets I'm watching interact with other pets I'm unfamiliar with (ie: no communal dog parks). In the case that anything does happen while I am with them, I am trained on the safest and most effective way to stop a dog fight, as well as being trained in CPR, emergency triage and response, and homeostatic stabilization. I also always have a list of the nearest emergency hospitals on hand should they ever be needed. I strive to follow all pet-parent's wants and needs for their pets, including whatever training or rules you may have for your pet while they are in my care (crating, treats, toys, etc). I take my dogs to parks or in open fields in the woods and let them run freely while playing with them. I take other dogs on long walks and play with them in the yard. Sometimes will take them to get a pup cup (if they like car rides and have no stomach issues). Everyone will be fed. I have treats, toys, leashes, a special dog monitor for if I do have an overnight on a day I have to work. I do have an extra crate if you feel your dog needs crated. If your animal requires special treatment such as medication I will need something written out for that such as name of medication time taken etc. I care for every animal as if they were my own. Their health and safety is my main priority at all times.
