Respect their boundaries This is a big one for trust: I try not to force picking up or petting and watch for signs like tail flicking, hiding, freezing, or overstimulation. About: I have been around dogs my whole life. I grew up in a small mountain town with lots of dogs and lots of land! My favorite thing as a child was taking my dogs on walks or runs in the mountains. Since moving to Seattle I have primarily only dog sat/dog walked for friends, family, and coworkers and am now looking to expand and open myself up to the vast network of Seattle dogs! I always introduce dogs carefully and prioritize safety and comfort. If your dog prefers their own space, I can easily keep them separated as well.
About: I grew up with multiple dogs and have always loved being around animals. I’ve had my own chocolate lab since I was 16. He’s now 12 so I have years of experience caring for dogs through every life stage. I’ve also helped take care of dogs for friends and family. In addition, I’ve looked after cats by visiting their homes, feeding them, and cleaning litter boxes. I treat every pet like my own, with patience, attention, and lots of love. I’m a restaurant owner with a flexible schedule, allowing me to provide attentive and reliable care for your pets. I have plenty of time to focus on their needs and ensure they feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for. “Kandice took great care of Yuki (my puppy) during her week-long stay. Kandice has two lovely adult labs at home and also some visitor dogs during Yuki's stay. They all became great friends with Yuki and had always been very gentle and patient with my energetic puppy. Yuki really enjoyed having a yard to play in and a bunch of fluffy friends to share her joy with. Kandice sent me very high quality pictures every day (I guess she took the photos with a DSLR). Kandice kindly followed my lengthy 'caring instructions'. She even took Yuki on walk alone (not with other dogs) in order to better work on some puppy behaviors of Yuki.
