About: I’ve always dabbled in pet sitting for the fun of traveling and meeting new breeds. Now that I’m semi - retired, I've discovered a new joy in providing care without the pressure of outside responsibilities. Having nowhere else to be means I can spend hours with your pets, letting them set the pace on our walks, and offering endless cuddles, allowing me to form trusted connections with every animal I watch. It is not that pet care fits into my life as much as pet care IS my life. It is breakfast, walk or read (depending on the species), groom, pet, games, naps, then dinner and repeat until bedtime. About: I'm 36 years old, I love animals and recently got out of the Navy. My family has four dogs back home, kimchi (pitbull lab mix), Indy (German shepherd mix) Louis and Rene (daschunds), and three cats that we rescued (Jiji, Cleo and Smokey). In high school I worked as a kennel worker at a veterinary hospital for 2 years and love working with animals. I’ve spent some time volunteering at local animal shelters at different places I was stationed with the military. I really enjoy taking dogs on walks and hikes and would love to take care of your pets while you’re away. I’m available for house-sitting, drop in visits and dog walks. I work nights from 8 pm-6:30 am, I’m off 7 days/6 nights in a row every other week, feel free to reach out and I’ll let you know if I work any of the dates you’re interested in. During a week where I work, I would be able to come back to your pet in the morning and feed them breakfast/either go for a walk or hang out a bit. Afterwards I would sleep from roughly 8:30 am-12:30pm. When I wake up at 12:30 I can offer your pet a midday walk/potty break/or just some one on one time. Around 3 pm, I may take a 2-3hr nap, but otherwise I will be free from 12:30 pm until I need to leave for 8 pm shift. If you have questions/concerns with this schedule I’m more than happy to answer them. When I am off I switch back to a normal daytime schedule will be able to spend the day/night with your pet. When watching your pet, I’m there for your pet. If they want to hang out and do nothing, we’ll do that. If they want to go for walks, hikes or adventures, we’ll do that. At the shelter I worked with every type of dog imaginable, from easygoing family pups to dogs with more complex needs due to past trauma. I was trusted to walk and handle even the more anxious or sensitive dogs, helping them build confidence and learn to trust new people. I’m very comfortable reading dog body language and adjusting my approach so each dog feels safe, respected, and understood. One of the dogs I worked closely with, Donald, needed a trusted handler present while new volunteers learned how to walk him safely, and I helped train others so he could get the exercise and enrichment he deserved. I also helped start enrichment initiatives at the shelter, including treat puzzles, mental stimulation games, and a “dog play buddy” program to give the dogs additional socialization and activity. One of my most special experiences there was helping care for a mama dog who gave birth to a litter of 10 (10!) puppies. Your pup will be treated like part of Our Family while they’re here 🐶❤️ Home & Care Details 🐾 I have a nice, fully fenced yard where your pup can safely play, explore, and burn off energy. My three fur babies are always around to help keep your dog active, social, and engaged throughout the day. Daily activity is a priority here—we’ll enjoy plenty of playtime in the yard along with one or two walks, depending on your dog’s needs and energy level.
