“Marina, Richard and their three girls are amazing! We tried this family out for the first time on quick notice as the other plans with another sitter did not work out. Our dog Choco is elderly dog and an “only furry child” at home. With the pandemic we stayed home with remote working and other changes so Choco was used to having us around all the time. There was a moment of separation anxiety with the drop off, but that’s normal. And the pandemic amplified this separation anxiety in so many dogs that we know with our friends and hearing their stories. I appreciate the care and attention that Marina and Richard took to make Choco feel comfortable with extra hugs and cuddling. Choco’s appetite was a little fussy, and Marina ended up feeding Choco one of his first meals by hand. They are a true blessing! I like the way that Marina gave lots of info on Choco’s energy and appetite along with photos for the updates. When I arrived to pick up Choco to go home, Choco was nestled so comfortably and calmly in Richard’s arms that I had to ask Choco if he wanted to go home or stay! LOL. “Highly recommend Daniel and Joelle’s family to anyone looking for a warm, responsible, and loving home for their pup. From the moment we met them during the meet & greet, I could tell how kind, genuine, and attentive they are. Daniel and his family truly love dogs and treat them like part of their own family. Daniel stays home full time, and there are usually at least two people home at all times, which gave me great peace of mind knowing our dog would never be left alone. One of their adult children has been dog sitting for years and is very experienced, and the other spent lots of time playing with our dog, which made him so happy. It’s wonderful to see how they all work together to make sure every dog gets plenty of attention and care. They kept me updated with photos and messages throughout the stay, took our dog on walks, and made sure he felt comfortable and loved while monitoring all the dogs closely. Our dog absolutely adored them and he gave everyone tons of kisses when we picked him up, which is his special way of saying “I love you.” Their own dog, Meelo, is such a sweet dog. Even though he’s blind, they’re very mindful and careful, introducing dogs slowly so everyone feels safe and at ease. I’m so relieved to have found such a kind and reliable family who will give our dog the same care and attention we do at home. We’ve already booked them again for the upcoming holiday and plan to keep returning in the future!”
“My 15-year-old pupper seemed to do really well with Alexis. Alexis did a thorough meet and greet with her dogs and answered all of my questions. I was nervous to leave my dog as she is older, has seizures and requires some medications. Alexis was very comfortable and has experience. About: I’ve loved and cared for cats my entire life and have cats of my own. I’m comfortable caring for cats with all different personalities, from playful and social to shy and independent. I also have experience caring for a client’s cat who required medication by injection, which I administered successfully. About: I have volunteered with multiple animal shelters (including fostering), a big cat sanctuary, and has worked at a veterinary clinic and pet boarding facility. I will be your pet's main caregiver, and have also owned dogs, cats, fish, hamsters, ferrets, frogs, and turtles throughout my life. My partner Marlon loves to walk/run with dogs and has had dogs, and is a chicken lover as well! I am very prepared to handle many situations and pet personalities. I recently cared for our senior dog (18-years-old!) with medical needs, and fostered puppies, so I am very understanding of dog needs. I understand how to make dogs feel safe and part of our family, and will send daily pictures to you so you know they're in good hands. **Have pets that aren't dogs?** I also own a cat, chickens, two turtles, and frogs. I volunteer at a cat rescue and have volunteered at a big cat sanctuary, have had hamsters, ferrets, an iguana, axolotls, fish.... I can handle most animals, just ask! **Notes** - Rates are per 24 hours. There will be an additional late fee of $5.00 for every hour past the agreed time for pick-up, unless you clearly communicate with us about your timeline. - Housesitting includes an overnight stay and care as needed (feeding, walks, and potty breaks) throughout the day. I may need to care for other clients or my own pets, or go into work. If you require constant care (24hrs per day, animal cannot be left alone), this needs to be arranged beforehand and the price will be higher than my regular housesitting rate. I work from home so time for pet care is flexible, I usually have plenty of time for walks or hikes with dogs that are visiting. I have a fenced yard and have the ability to make zones within my home if it's necessary. I try to stick to the typical schedule the animals are used to, to the best of my ability and schedule.
