She really bonded with their French Bulldog, Frenchie, and we were so excited to see her remember everyone on the farm since we boarded her there two years ago. She felt right at home. “We arranged Susan H. to look after our 7-year old Havanese Roxy for 5 weeks while we had to make an international trip to Nepal. Roxy had never been without one of us (either myself or my wife Sharon) with her ever, during her entire life. At home, Roxy is very communicative, and well-trained to pee and poop outside, and rarely had accidents inside the house. Apparently, Roxy had a difficult time adjusting at Susan's house. It could have been the new environment and/or smells of other dogs that had been there previously. I think Roxy was also very distressed at not being at home and also that both of us had left her (or not knowing that we were ever coming back). Susan was very patient with Roxy, showed her a lot of love, and communicated regularly with us via messaging about Roxy's adjustment, issues, and progress. We were most appreciative. In the end, after 5 weeks when we picked up Roxy, Susan told us that Roxy had become like a family member in her household. When asked if she would again care for Roxy in the future (if/when we needed), Susan's answer was, "yes, indeed". I cannot recommend Susan more highly. She did a 5-star job looking after our little girl.”

About: I have over 10 years of experience caring for dogs. I have two dogs back home and one dog here in Canada. I walk and run with them three times a day. I also feed them and play with them using toys. I took a lot of lessons after having my dogs, including their behaviors, the best ways to take care of them and the symptoms of them being sick. I love animals so much that my mom said I couldn’t sleep without my dog staying under my bed. I have tons of treats and toys at home. I hope to have the chance to help you look after your dogs and make both of you happy :) Looking forward to meet your babies! Walk 2-3 times at least a day, can adjust schedule based on requests. My partner has his own photo studio in Richmond that he can bring dogs to the space and engage with them during the day if you are up for it. “This was our first experience with Rover and I could not be more pleased with how great Morgan was with Champ! She met him a few days before the scheduled drop-ins and he immediately started licking her and asking for pets before she even finished coming inside (Champ is normally super shy and barks a lot). Morgan was very communicative and sent several pictures and updates during each drop-in. I hate leaving Champ (I’ve only boarded him three times in his 8 years of life and am always paranoid if he’s not right by me lol) so I was nervous about how it would be for someone else to come into my house to watch him but it was the best decision. Champ hates fireworks so Morgan moved his bedding into the bathroom where he was hiding and she sat in there with him until he calmed down. If I boarded Champ he would’ve been in a kennel near a bunch of other dogs freaking out about the fireworks but Champ got to be in his own home where he feels safe. She went above and beyond any expectations I had. I laid out some pee pads and sure enough, Champ understandably had a couple of accidents because he wouldn’t go outside during the fireworks and Morgan cleaned up without any complaints. I would be thrilled to have Morgan take care of Champ again next time I go out of town!”

About: I grew up on a small organic farm, where we raised everything from sheep and goats to rabbits and quail. We also had 5 cats and a dog, so caring for animals was a part of my everyday life from a young age. That experience has given me the confidence to care for pets with different personalities and needs. As I got older, my love for animals stayed with me. About: I’ve worked with dogs professionally for the last 4 years. Have 3 years of pet CPR/first aid training. In my 4 years I’ve spent lots of time researching the best ways to bond with each breed using play and their natural instincts. I love working with the lower confident pets and helping them find their way out of their shells. I’m currently not working, doing dog training on the side. I am very open for availability for holidays, weekends, in home stays or even just to take your pup on a fun day trip! I live on 2 acres not fenced in. I utilize long lines and leashes for potty breaks and allowing pets to run and play. I have 6 very social dogs in the house who are open and ready to play if your pup is open to it, I have lots of experience in introducing dogs and cats to each other in positive ways.
