Personalized care for your dog or cat - Darknell

Highly-rated overnight sitters - Darknell
“This was our first time boarding our dog, Lily, so we were a little nervous, but Crystal made the whole experience so easy. Communication was excellent from start to finish, and we really appreciated her flexibility with our pickup and drop off times. She kept us updated with pictures throughout Lily’s stay, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. It was obvious Lily was having a great time, she got lots of walks, plenty of attention, and came home happy and tired. She also has a great property and a wonderful family environment that made us feel confident Lily was in good hands. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. Highly recommend!”

“Daisy is afraid of her own shadow, so Eileen and Jeff had to work around her fear and I'm sure that was not fun for them. They were calm and caring, and found ways to let Daisy feel comfortable on her own. Eileen is soft-spoken and understanding of doggy quirks. Daisy's sensitive tummy feeding schedule was carefully followed, and she came home in great health. For a 16 year old pooch, change can be hard, but Eileen's patience with Daisy made her stay both safe and comfortable. I appreciate that very much, and would absolutely ask Eileen to watch Daisy again.”

“Amanda was great with Sadie on our vacation! It was such a relief knowing she was safe and with a caring family! Amanda communicateed almost daily with me and sent photo updates while we were gone. Sadie got a surprise bath the day before we picked her up! We look forward to using her care in the future! Thank you for everything Amanda!”

“Hanging out with Leslie was awesome. The other dogs, my buds were chill, fun to run with on walks, and there were lots of those. My Mom and Dad shared the great pictures Leslie sent, and they were stoked when I asked about hanging with Leslie again the next time they go away.”

“Heather is ohenomenal. She basically adopts my dog for three days. Kept me informed and at ease. A time of great strain became bearable because of her care for my Emma. I will use her service again!”

“Patricia was amazing. She met with us before booking, and helped us to acclimate our dogs to her home before their long stay. She was accommodating, friendly, and was always fast to respond! We received an update almost once a day on our week and a half long vacation. Updates on how they were doing and if either of them had issues. When we came to pick up our babies, they didn't immediately recognize us and protected her house like it was their own. They truly enjoyed their stay with Patricia, and I would highly recommend her and will use her again if I ever need a puppy sitter while in Spokane. Thank you again Patricia, you and your family offered an amazing pawcation for our babies. - All their love, Toffee and Moka”

“Our dogs had a great weekend with Georgia and her pet family. She sent us photos and videos of our dogs throughout their stay. We will definitely use Georgia again for our pet needs. Thank you!”

“My dog Lyla‘s first visit and stay with Emily for the week and everything went great! She is extremely attentive, caring, and feel my dog as well cared for and Lyla had fun socializing with the friendly dogs that stayed there as well! It all put me very much at ease and I loved getting all the photos she sent!”

“My doggo had an excellent time with Jeniel. I’d send her there again in a heartbeat. She tired her out with lots of ball throwing, and showered her with love. Jeniel sent lots of photos, too.”

“Here’s a warm, concise Rover review: We had a great experience! She was so sweet and caring with Cocopuff and was very flexible with our travel schedule. We even forgot to pack his food, and she was incredibly accommodating and made everything easy. We felt he was in great hands and would definitely book with her again. Highly recommend!”

“Alton, Valerie, and their whole family always take such good care of Indy and are great with communication and sending photos throughout each stay. We highly recommend them!”

“We dropped off Ziggy for the weekend after a visit to the vet where we left with four medications, a cone and a bloody paw. Philip didn't flinch. (He was two minutes from where I was visiting my mom, so we could have been there if anything had come up.) We didn't get a lot of updates, but we came back to a dog who seemed happy, and better yet, hadn't been chewing on his paw. Highly recommend.”

“We love Kelly so much! She takes such great care of our pup, I always know our dog is so well cared for when we leave her here. She communicates quickly, sends pictures frequently and lets us know our dog is living her best life while we’re away. Thank you for all your care!”

“Ashley was so incredibly communicative sending thoughtful updates and pictures every day of our trip. She even sent home the sweetest take home doggy bag for our pup. We will undoubtedly be coming back to her for future services. So thankful for how well she took care of our old lady.”

“Cheryl took amazing care of our two greyhounds when we had to leave town on short notice for a funeral. She sent us pictures and videos of them interacting with the other dogs as well as her two adorable grandkids. Seeing our boys comfortable and being loved made our trip so much easier. Thank you, Cheryl!”

“Milo had a great time and was taken care of exactly as his medical needs required. We appreciate the flexibility with his pickup and will certainly return if we need boarding again.”

“We really appreciated their flexibility in taking Maggie at a late date. She had a great time and they were very attentive to her needs. We would definitely rebook with them! They have a.beautiful, secure backyard which was so nice. Thank you!”

“Julie and Ryan were my dog’s first Rover! They did such a good job making both of us feel comfortable and Cloud loved staying with them. Appreciated the updates as well. Highly recommend letting your pet stay with them!”

“Josef and Danielle did an outstanding job watching our two dogs. We had our dogs meet ahead of time to make sure they got along, and all was good. While we were away they sent us photos and updates of how our dogs were doing. I will definitely be using them again and highly recommend them to anyone in need of dog boarding.”

Perfect for high energy dogs - Darknell
About: I’m from the Seattle area and I’ve been with Rover since 2018. In 2020 I got married to Micaiah my husband. When we married we added an additional cat to the family that belonged to him. So we have 4 cats. Before Rover I volunteered at PetsMart with Purrfect pals. One day a week I would help with cleaning, playing, and as a team member I helped cats find a furrrever home. My first cat in my life was when I was 8. I have always enjoyed pets and nature. So I decided to combine walking and dogs. Walks in the park or just around the block. I’m looking to be your new regular dog walker. I'm looking forward to meeting you and your pets!! I’m also a very detail and observant person so walks, sittings, and daycare services would also have a description of how your pet is doing. I chart any different behavior or eating habits along with health concerns. Updates with photos would be a priority. I'd also ask for the dog's vet info and emergency contacts. Have a paw-some day! My schedule is flexible. I usually find clients prefer weekday schedule M-F routine for walks. This is my full time job! My time is your time! I’m very safety cautious. I will keep updates and photos on the pet regularly during the day. I also request the pet’s medical information and their vet clinic. I’m pretty flexiable with scheduling. I try my best to fit in the schedule my clients want for their pets. Only days I need off for two hours are Sunday and Thursday. For security and safety I please ask for NO GUNS OR SUBSTANCES in house. I want to feel safe in the environment same goes for your pets. Thanks! I’m making this a full time job. M-F. I’m flexible with the scheduling. I’m open to picking up and dropping off clients dogs. Dogs will have one of us home with them. I have a fenced yard and five cats. I rescued two which are a mom and her kitten. My three cats are fun to spend my day with as well. I have a senior cat that needs daily meds and I try all I can to keep them happy and healthy.

“Georgia was amazing with my dog! She was excellent with communication and easy to work with and very flexible with my schedule. I highly would recommend her. She treated my dog like family and took great care of him.”

“Hannah is simply the best! She watches our pup every week but in addition to that she watched him so we could go out on a date night. She loves our good boy like her own and it is just wonderful! 🥰”

“Teri is wonderful! Great communication and lots of photos of dogs having fun! My dog adores her and gets so excited to visit. When I pick her up, she just naps in the back seat because she's so tired from playing all day.”

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was a kid. I love all animals and treat them all as if they were my own! I currently do not work-so my schedule is wide open and flexible to take care of all of your pets needs. I am open to walking, dog sitting and more! About: I love animals of all kinds and am happy to take care for your pets. Your dogs and cats will be loved and cared for like they’re my own. I know the area well and my neighborhood is very dog friendly and safe for walking. I have experience taking care of animals with anxiety and that are recovering from surgery. Thank you for trusting me with your pets, Please let me know any special requests or needs you have for your animals or home. Currently on a job search so I’m not sure of my daily schedule in the future, but I won’t be working more than 8 hours at a time and most likely only 30 hours a week. For house sitting and boarding, I will at home as much as possible, with the exception of running necessary errands. I’ll do my best to keep your pet happy and comfortable, and stick to your pets routines i.e. walks, play time, feeding time etc. (I sometimes board more than one dog at a time but only with your express permission of both owners)
“David put my mind at ease from the get go. It was the first time I’ve ever left my dog. My mind was at ease knowing she was in good hands! Thank you David and Jennifer.”

“We are so glad we found Cheryl on Rover. As first-time Rover users, we were a little unsure of how the app worked let alone what the experience would be like for our golden doodle. Cheryl was great about responding in a timely manner to our texts, her own dogs had a ton of fun with our dog, and she sent us pictures of our pup’s adventures during the day. We will be going to her again if we are in the area.”

“Mimi and her family took such wonderful care of our Velzy girl! From the moment we met I felt at ease and so did our pup. Velzy had the best time with Chester and they got along great!Lovely home with the best backyard. We will MOST DEFINITELY be booking again and again and again. Highly recommended! Thank you Mimi + fam!!! 🧡”

“We had a great experience with Hannah and her family! She was extremely flexible on drop off/pick up, sent updates and sent some great pics of Maggie (Boxer) throughout the day! Would highly recommend and we will definitely use her again if we are in the Northern Idaho/Eastern Washington area.”

“Wow! I am so happy for my pups that they got to spend their day with Patricia while I was at a wedding. It was such a good day for them. They got to play, run, wrestle, go to dog park 2x, sleep, eat, wake-up and do it all again, and again. Patricia also took 20 pictures for me to see them throughout the day. I’m also happy she got to be with them. I look forward to when they can spend their day with her again. Thank-you soooo much! 🙂Kari”

“We left Jack with Haley & Audriana while visiting from out of town. He had a wonderful time! The house is nice and in a nice neighborhood with a comfortable, fenced back yard that offered shade on a hot day. We will definitely look them up when we come into town next time!”

About: I’ve taken care of pets my whole life and love dogs! I am a hands on care giver and make sure the pets are happy and healthy. I work remotely so I am home all day with my 12-year-old boy and a 5-year-old Schnoodle, Coco. My daughter is pre-med at WSU and is often home to help as well. Coco is current with all vaccines, spayed, and loves furry friends visiting! I have a fenced yard that is wide open for lots of fun playing. I also take daily walks with the dogs so they get to smell the news!
“I had an exceptional experience with Amanda and Justin. My wife and I were visiting Spokane for three days during a heatwave, and needed daycare for Casey. They did a terrific job, especially introducing Casey to their larger dogs and communicating via text and the Rover app. We felt completely comfortable leaving Casey in their very capable hands.”

“Had such a great experience ! It’s sometimes hard to travel and have someone watch your dog without worrying but right away I knew it was going to be a good day for Milo! Milo and their dog Paisley are besties from the start! The two dogs were so good together! Milo was a happy boy when I picked him up! I come to Spokane for work and will be using them every time :) can’t thank them enough for giving my boy attention and play time while I work”

“Genevieve was a lifesaver and took Maeve in for a last minute doggie daycare request. She allowed us to see where Maeve would be hanging out and meet her other dogs. We got updates on how it was going and Maeve looked so happy! They took her on a hike & let her play in the water. Their home, with a large yard and doggie door, was the perfect fit for Maeve. And she was wiped out when she got home. We are so happy we found Genevieve!”

“First time using app based on local recommendation. Traveling with an extended stay. Had a meet and greet with Jackie before doggie day care to settle my nerves. Warm and friendly and bonded with Ranger immediately. Met her at house next day for drop off and she was very attentive asking questions about allergies and concerns. Felt very comfortable and at ease with leaving Ranger there for a “staycation”. He settled in quickly and Jackie kept me updated with text and pics and how he was doing throughout the day. The pics say it all. Highly recommended and hope we have another opportunity in the future.”

“Jessica did a wonderful job taking care of our precious Winston! We are planning a trip and I am going to ask Jessica to watch him again for the long holiday weekend. So personable and obviously a compassionate person who took really good care of our dog! Thank you very much Jessica ?”

More than 1.6 million pets enjoyed cuddles and care from sitters on Rover1
Adventure-ready dog walkers - Darknell
About: - Grew up in the country surrounded by dogs, cats, reptiles, chickens, and other farm animals my whole life. - I’ve house sitted for family friends dogs and plants - I highly prioritize communication and safety on both sides I’m very available at the moment as I just graduated. I am happy both to set up a reoccurring service or stay flexible from week to week over the summer. I can’t keep animals in my apartment, but I am physically and mentally capable of the challenges regarding pets like crates, leashes, exercise/play, differences in personalities, and minor discipline if wanted.
About: I have over 9 years of hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats, including grooming, basic training, and pet sitting. I’ve worked with pets of all ages, temperaments, and needs. I was actively involved with my local humane society in Arizona where I fostered multiple litters of puppies as well as dogs with complex trauma backgrounds, helping them build trust, confidence, and readiness for their furever homes. That experience taught me patience, calm handling, and how to read animal body language closely. I also have two kitty boys of my own and have helped care for several new litters, so I’m very comfortable with kittens and multi-cat households. At home I have a very friendly, well-socialized Australian Cattle Dog who is also my trained service animal. She has excellent manners, is welcoming around other animals, and has helped me deepen my understanding of structure, training, and positive reinforcement. I truly love animals and treat every pet like family, focusing on safety, comfort, and individualized care. I’m a small business owner, which gives me a flexible schedule and the ability to intentionally build pet care into my daily routine. I plan my days so I can give pets the time, attention, and consistency they deserve. Working with animals has always been something that fills my cup, and I’ve really missed having that regular connection with pets. Now that I’ve moved to a more populated area and have more flexibility, I’m excited to work with animals again and support my community in a way that I’m naturally good at. Pet care isn’t something I squeeze in — it’s something I genuinely enjoy making time for. I love building trust with animals and creating a calm, positive experience for them while their owners are away. My approach to pet care is calm, attentive, and tailored to each animal’s needs and routine. I always follow the owner’s instructions closely so pets feel safe and comfortable with familiar schedules, feeding times, and boundaries. In a client’s home, I respect the pet’s normal environment and keep things consistent. I provide regular potty breaks, exercise, playtime, and calm companionship. I also send updates and photos so owners feel connected and reassured. If caring for pets in my home, I create a safe and structured environment with plenty of supervision. Pets are never left unattended for long periods, and I prioritize slow introductions and compatibility if other animals are present. My home is pet-friendly and calm, with space to relax as well as engage in enrichment and play. Overall, I focus on safety, communication, and making sure each pet feels secure, loved, and well cared for while their family is away.
About: I have taken care of dogs since I was a kid. I love all animals and treat them all as if they were my own! I currently do not work-so my schedule is wide open and flexible to take care of all of your pets needs. I am open to walking, dog sitting and more! I have a dog to keep your fur baby company of staying in my home. I do not have a fenced yard but like to go for walks, and in park adventures.
“Leah is absolutely amazing! She is such a sweetheart and loves animals. I feel so comfortable leaving my dog in her care. She is able to recognize and cater to his every need. Definitely will continue to book with her!”

About: I’ve been around dogs for years and have hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages and personalities. I understand the importance of patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, and I always strive to make every dog feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I currently have a Golden Retriever and a German Shepherd mix, so I’m very comfortable with large breeds and high-energy dogs. I’ve also administered medications to my own dogs when needed and always follow care instructions carefully. Beyond caring for my own pets, I’ve looked after many friends’ and family members’ dogs while they were away. I also rescued one of my own dogs, which gave me experience helping an adult dog adjust to a new home, build confidence, and replace unwanted habits with positive behaviors through patience and consistent training. My goal is to make every dog feel safe, happy, and well cared for. Whether your dog prefers a relaxing walk or an active adventure, I’ll tailor their care to their individual needs while giving you peace of mind that they’re in good hands. My schedule is very flexible, and I’m available most days for walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting. If I’m providing house sitting, I just ask for about two hours each day to care for and exercise my own dogs while my husband is at work. Outside of that, I’m committed to following your pet’s normal routine and making sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I take the time to get to know each pet’s personality, routine, and any special instructions so they receive the care they’re used to. Whether we’re out on a walk or spending time at home, I’ll make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care, and I don’t take that lightly. Whether I’m stopping by for a visit, taking your dog for a walk, or house sitting, I’ll provide attentive, compassionate care while doing my best to keep their routine consistent and stress-free. I’d also be happy to keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.
About: I can’t offer any services after August! I will be moving out for college :) I’ve had dogs of my own since I was a kid. I currently have three dogs, one being a chihuahua puppy, so you can imagine the trouble they all get in. I also petsit for my neighbors two dogs and cat often! I’m currently finishing up high school in my senior year, and I’m enrolled in Running Start at Eastern Washington University, so I have a very flexible schedule. I only have one early class on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and two day classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Quality time with pets is so important! Making sure hyper dogs get exercise and enrichment is a basic goal while petsitting. I also water plants, clean up, and feed pets, along with taking them on walks when requested.
About: I’ve taken care of a variety of animals from dogs to cats, turtles and lizards. Neighbors and friends have found me to be a reliable and respectful sitter and I’ve enjoyed all my walks and park trips! I work part time and have a flexible schedule! I usually work early afternoon to five or nine and have off days during the week. I’m available to do walks or check ins the morning and then also in the afternoon/night as long as there’s still some daylight or good street light.
“Genevieve was THE BOMB watching our pup. She took lots of pictures, and clearly gave him all the love and attention he needed. She even took him home one day to play with her pups, which she of course did not have to do. Puck had a great time with her, and we would love to have her watch him again!”

About: I started my first dog walking business in elementary school walking neighborhood dogs! I have owned dogs my entire life, taking them on regular walks. Owning a reactive dog now has made me even more patient! I have attended various dog training sessions with my reactive dog and learned more about managing dog behaviors. I’m a teacher on summer break looking for a little extra money! I’m free all week long to help get those pups some extra exercise and fun! I own 2 dogs and we have a fenced yard. Our dogs are kennel trained but roam the house freely all day and night. I have attended dog training sessions in the past to support my reactive rescue dog.
About: I have owned and loved on numerous dogs my entire life. I can never remember a time when I didn't have a tail waggin', face lickin', life long companion. No special skills here, just a heart that overflows for all dogs. I am a newly retired school district worker. My true passion has always been in taking care of animals. I don't really travel and what a better way to spend my days I have a huge fenced yard and a walking trail right behind my house that I use on a regular basis. Your furry friend will be allowed to roam wherever and sleeping on the furniture will never be a problem.
About: I have two dogs of my own who are truly my babies, so I understand how important it is to find someone you trust. With two years of experience working at a dog boarding kennel, as well as time at a pet vaccine clinic, I’m comfortable caring for pets with a variety of needs. I’ve grown up surrounded by animals and aim to provide the same loving, attentive care I would want for my own pets. I work at the hospital currently but have very flexible hours and can work around almost anything that is needed as long as I know a day or two in advance if possible :) I tailor my care to each pet’s routine to keep them comfortable and stress-free. In a client’s home, I follow their normal schedule as closely as possible—feeding, litter box cleaning, playtime, and any medications if needed. I make sure cats have a clean, calm environment and give them attention based on their personality, whether that’s interactive play or just quiet companionship.

About: I am Suzy I grew up on a farm in a small town. I just retired from being a private hospice caregiver. I have experience with dogs, cats, cows, pigs, goats and horses. I have had my own dogs and cats and started helping more with pet sitting and dog walking for friends and family. I have an alternative medicine degree and it has helped me not only in my personal life but also with my animals lives. I am good with dogs and cats that have high energy and separation anxiety. I am loving being retired and building my pet sitting business that revolves around cuddles with cats and dogs. I started doing this because I have 3 grand pups and 1 grand cat along with 1 human grand daughter and it has brought me peace and happiness. I was lost on what I wanted to do with this part of my life. I immensely enjoy pet sitting and meeting new pet owners and pets. I am not in a position to have pets at my home. However in your home I am there to help your animal not feel alone by giving them the attention they need or what you have requested.
About: I’ve grown up around animals and have always had a genuine love for caring for them. I’m a responsible, dependable sitter who truly enjoys spending time with pets. Since I work part-time, I’m home most of the time and able to give your furry friends plenty of attention, walks, playtime, and cuddles. My boyfriend and I love caring for dogs and cats of all breeds and personalities, and we treat every pet like family. We always follow your specific routines and preferences, whether that means furniture rules, feeding schedules, or special care needs. I’m happy to send regular updates and photos so you can feel confident while you’re away. I also have years of experience giving medications, including administering pills. Your pet’s comfort, safety, and happiness are my top priorities, and I’d love the opportunity to care for your pets.
“Jade was great with our pup, Lily! Lily can take some time to warm up with strangers, but Jade was patient with her and earned her trust. I could tell by the pictures that Lily loved her walks, and Jade had great communication with us!”

About: *** I will be available in Spokane and CDA starting April 10th. Hope to talk to you all soon! I have been a housesitter and petsitter for years. I really enjoy getting to have new pet friends! I have taken care of all sorts of animals--dogs, cats, birds, lizards, hamsters, bunnies, horses, pigs, goats, chickens and even cows! I feel comfortable with pets who have medical issues, as well. I also have done a fair amount of pet massages for dogs and cats (not lizards, though!!) I have an online business, so I usually housesit and work part-time online. This makes it very easy for me to be in a home with pets who need more attention, or dogs that need walked often. I have done all levels of pet care-from simple one hour drop-in visits for cats to feeding and cleaning up for horses and cows (extra fee for that!!) So, I am very versatile with my clients! I also find that I bond easily with pets, and can often connect to shy or nervous cats and dogs by being present, calm and talking to them. I also know to leave someone alone when they just don't want to connect. I usually do lots of walks and playing together as well as simply sitting and petting and offering yummy treats!

“Brooke did a fantastic job with our pup! It was our first time having to board Bingo and she made us feel right at ease! “I had a great experience boarding my dog Lucy at Kates. There were no surprises and Lucy was safe and loved while I was gone. Kates little girls are amazing as well. I’m sure they helped a lot. I’ve been searching for a great caretaker for my dog and found a good one with Kate. I would highly recommend her.”

“Tiana did great with our pups! They stayed for three nights and had a blast. Tiana provided lots of pictures, videos, and updates about how the dogs were doing. We felt comfortable with her watching them and would recommend boarding with her!”
