About: Some of my earliest memories were fur baby family members. I lived in households with black and brown lab's, Shar Pei's, Yorkie's, Chihuahua, and multiple cats. At 5 years old I wanted a cat so bad that I hid one in the car. My mom noticed the cat on the drive home. After discussing it with the original owner it was discovered that he did need a new home and that is how Smokie joined the household. At 8 years old, I got permission for my second cat Speckles. I was allowed to help bottle feed him before he was able to come home with me. He lived to the age of 19. My schedule is very open and flexible, I look forward to meeting you and your fur babies. Wednesday mornings I go visit my grandma, I am free during the afternoon after visiting her. I will be caring for your pets in your home. I'm available for drop in care, check-in's, pet sitting, house sitting, and overnight care. I do have mobility limitations, I walk with the assistance of a cane and therefore am unable to offer pet walking services at this time. I have a service animal, my small dog Leroy. He gets along very well with cats and dogs of all sizes.

“My husband and I had planned and booked a 2 week bucket list trip to Peru and were set to leave in 7 weeks. We had arranged our normal pet sitter that we’ve used for years to come and take care of our (almost) 15 year old cat, Mr. Christmas. It was around that time that Mr. Christmas stopped eating. Mr. Christmas had no real health conditions, no meds…and he was declining fast. After extensive testing, imaging, and seeing a specialist, he was diagnosed with either IBD or cancer and was going to need a lot of follow up. He was on multiple oral medications and he still wasn’t eating great. I couldn’t leave him in the house with someone who can only come see him once a day. He needed more support and our normal pet sitter couldn’t provide that for him. I was fully prepared to cancel the trip, but thought I’d go on Rover to see if anyone could match what we were looking for and if anyone would be willing to do what we were asking. We needed three, hour-long visits daily, forcing food at him, weighing him, and administering multiple daily medications. I found Melanie explaining what I was looking for, and I was really impressed that she was up early at 4:30am to message me. Melanie communicated with me each week leading up to our trip. We initially didn’t have a diagnosis and I needed vet clearance to leave him. Melanie asked many questions, and when we finally were told that he was stable enough to leave, she came over to our house with a list of questions to go over with us. He’s got a bit…a lot…of an attitude. She made sure that she didn’t approach him and waited for him to come to her. She was so thoughtful about every detail of their interaction in front of us. My husband and I both felt that even though she is a stranger to us, there was something calming about her and she was very professional. We knew Mr. Christmas would be okay, but I wasn’t expecting him to thrive the way that he did. Melanie never missed a visit. She never asked for anything from me. She communicated with me daily throughout the two weeks. She braved picking him up to put him on the scale multiple times. Mr. Christmas gained weight with Melanie. He wasn’t gaining weight with me at home, but she is just that good. Pictures of Mr. Christmas started with him sleeping alone, and then he got closer and closer to her on the couch. He even started inviting her to watch him in the litter box (I’m mortified), but he only does this with “his people”. Our dog came to visit at home a few days to see Mr. Christmas (they are besties), and Melanie had no problem cuddling our dog while visiting Mr. Christmas. To describe Melanie in one or two words, I would say she is easygoing and pays great attention to detail. She makes everything seem easy and carefree, and my anxiety really appreciated that on this trip. I got home from 15 days away from him, and he is this thick ball of fluffy happiness. He was WELL taken care of. We could have never gone on this trip without Melanie. She is a true gem and I will be referring anyone and everyone I know to her. I have 3 friendly dogs and a fenced-in yard. My dogs are kennel- trained and understand that sometimes other dog friends need space before being playful. Your dog can interact with mine or you can request to keep them separate, as I can accommodate that as well. My dogs spend most of their time in my fenced-backyard. They have space to run and trees for shade. They all like to take turns chewing on bones I give them, lay in the sunshine, play tug-o-war with the rope toy. Dogs are crate trained so if your dog needs attention separately I can accommodate easily.

I began by walking dogs at a local humane society, then on to becoming a Certified Professional Dog Trainer. I absolutely love dog sitting and I have the skills to administer medications. About: I have been taking care of animals my whole life. I have a genuine love for being near animals and taking care of them because they brighten my day. I am currently in college I want to try to make pet sitting a part time job so I can save up for my future. The apartment comples I live in has a dog park where a lot of dogs go and have fun, if there is any type of schedule by the owner/owners I would follow it. During walks, we stick to routes your dog is familiar with (unless instructed otherwise) and always keep them leashed and under control. We’re alert to potential hazards like traffic, other dogs, or wildlife and will adjust as needed to keep your pet safe and calm. Communication is key—we’ll keep you updated and will always reach out if anything seems off or needs attention.
About: I love dogs, I've always had a dog. My kids love dogs. I am willing to work with you on when and where my services are needed. I'm available at all times during the day, I work graveyard at my regular job. For dog boarding, my husband is here at night while I'm at work but I only work two nights a week so it's rare that I'm not here. I would love to spend some time with your pup and will take care of it as if it were my own. I have experience with dogs as little as Pomeranians and as large as Alaskan Malamutes, from brand new puppies to senior dogs. I have owned as many as six dogs as one time.

About: I have been taking care of Dogs, Cats, and small Reptiles for a combined 10 years. I love to snuggle on the couch, go for walks, and chase the local squirrels. I only have my one pup and getting her a fun friend for a few days is fun for us both. “We have had Darby watch our dogs multiple times and she has always done a great job. Our Labrador puppy can be a handful but she did a great job with discipline and keeping her from jumping. Darby would take the dogs on long walks around her property and then let them watch the chickens or sun themselves on her deck. The dogs were sad to leave Darby's place and miss the long walks.”
