“We arranged Susan H. to look after our 7-year old Havanese Roxy for 5 weeks while we had to make an international trip to Nepal. Roxy had never been without one of us (either myself or my wife Sharon) with her ever, during her entire life. At home, Roxy is very communicative, and well-trained to pee and poop outside, and rarely had accidents inside the house. Apparently, Roxy had a difficult time adjusting at Susan's house. It could have been the new environment and/or smells of other dogs that had been there previously. I think Roxy was also very distressed at not being at home and also that both of us had left her (or not knowing that we were ever coming back). Susan was very patient with Roxy, showed her a lot of love, and communicated regularly with us via messaging about Roxy's adjustment, issues, and progress. We were most appreciative. In the end, after 5 weeks when we picked up Roxy, Susan told us that Roxy had become like a family member in her household. When asked if she would again care for Roxy in the future (if/when we needed), Susan's answer was, "yes, indeed". I cannot recommend Susan more highly. She did a 5-star job looking after our little girl.”

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. As the daughter of two veterinarians, I grew up working in a veterinary clinic. More recently, I worked in a dog boarding facility, so I am comfortable caring for animals of all behavior types and physical conditions. As a school bus driver, I work 6-10 AM, then have few hours break and go back to my afternoon drive 2-6 PM. To ensure proper care for animals, I like to book clients no further than a 30 min drive from Sedro Woolley. Please take this into consideration when looking at a sitter for your pets! The school year ends June 12th and I am available until mid-July. Afterwards, I am taking time off for my own motorcycle travels (this time to Colorado) and then spend August in Europe :) I have owned cats, large dogs (100 + lbs), and horses over the years, so I'm well-versed in handling a variety of pet needs. I am comfortable around animals and can stand my ground with them. I enjoy large breeds and, having two 150Lbs + dogs before I know how hard it is to find someone to take care of them! I am available for short and long term stays in Whatcom and Skagit counties. Dogs, cats, horses, turtles and fish - all welcomed and loved! I work as a school bus driver, so I leave the house early in the morning for few hours, then have 2-4 hrs off and then drive the kids home in the afternoon, usually 2-6 pm. “Leslie is Max’s most favorite pet sitter, and because of that mine. My dog is shy of humans and often other dogs. Max settled into Leslie’s home and bonded with both Leslie and her two dogs. It was a comfort to me knowing Max was happy while I was away.”

She made the whole process effortless, stayed in great communication, and sent us the perfect amount of updates—just enough to ease our dog-parent hearts without making us too jealous that our dogs were clearly living their best lives. The photo updates were a highlight (Lexi’s modeling career may have peaked). The best part? Lexi and Charlie came home happy, tired, and weirdly… better behaved? Not sure what kind of magic Kelsey worked, but we’re here for it. Her home is lovely, and her sweet dogs made great vacation buddies for ours. “Elizabeth and Guillaume are absolutely wonderful! They cared for our dog Lada on their farm while we were away for a week, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Pickup and drop-off were smooth and easy, and every day we got pictures and little videos of Lada having a blast, which gave us so much peace of mind. She really bonded with their French Bulldog, Frenchie, and we were so excited to see her remember everyone on the farm since we boarded her there two years ago. She felt right at home. She came home happy, healthy, and tired from all the play and farm adventures. It’s clear she was well cared for and loved during her stay. Highly recommend — five stars all the way!”
