About: I've owned and taken care of dogs my entire life. I'm proud to be one of the first people friends and family call when a petsitter is needed. I love walking, and I love dogs. This seems like the perfect opportunity to exercise and get my animal fix! I'm currently working full-time Monday through Friday. I can do evening walks after 5:00 PM (as weather allows) and I can do weekends between 9:00 AM - 6 PM. My current apartment doesn't allow pets, but I can housesit on weekends or in the evenings if the location is somewhat close to my work in Waterbury. I'm a long-time vegetarian, and have always had an extra sensitive heart when it comes to animals. I think that earning an animal's trust is such a privilege and gift, and I honor that. I cannot house pets in my current apartment, but I will follow the guidance and knowledge of the owners in their homes and while on walks.

I believe the best way to teach a dog is positive reinforcement and will work with whatever routines you have established with your furry family member. I work from home 3 days per week and the days are flexible except Thursday when I have to be at my office in Montpelier. I can go home on my lunch breaks for walks on the days I'm in the office (and you're close to Montpelier) and can work from your home if I'm housesitting and you have internet. As a gal in her 40s I'm pretty low key and will be very happy spending my time with your pet in your home or taking them on adventures if that's what they prefer. Barbara and Darryll are warm, caring people and very responsive to my dogs needs, plus sent regular updates and pictures throughout the stay. My dog is a Belgian Shepherd and can be anxious and at times reactive, but she was relaxed and quiet while staying here. It was ideal because they were home with her most of the time and kept a consistent routine for her. She found her place on a couch by the window so she could watch the squirrels in the yard, just like at home. I felt safe leaving my dogs with such kind people, thank you Barbara and Darryll! About: I grew up with cats, both indoor and outdoor. In college I adopted my own cat who recently passed away at the age of 19. He was very healthy up until the last year during which time he needed special medication and some adjustments made to his living quarters. I recently adopted an adult cat named Angus and he has fit in with my dogs wonderfully! I am very interactive and not afraid to be goofy in order to make a genuine connection with your pet. About: Growing up around a wide variety of animals has given me the skills and passion needed to be an attentive and responsible carer of all kinds of pets. “Chad has been taking care of Aspen since she was about 4 or 5 months old. He has worked with her and myself on her reactivity and meeting other dogs and strangers. I believe he saved my dog and I. I wouldn't trust anyone else with her. I followed him to Rover from the daycare he essentially started and was forced to shut down. And I will follow him when he starts his own. He is trustworthy, reliable, kind, compassionate and SO intelligent and well educated on dog behavior and body language. Aspen loves her days with Chad and she is wiped out until the next day!”
About: My schedule is flexible so I'm able to spend time throughout the day with your fur baby. I'm active and happy to play fetch for hours! I like to take puppers for multiple walks and give lots of love and pets. The clients I sit for like the fact they can contact me last minute and I'm generally able to adjust my schedule to be available. My schedule changes from week to week but feel free to contact me to double check my availability no matter the season! I like when clients leave me detailed instructions on what their pets normal schedules are, that way there's less stress put on myself and on your fur friend! I'm able to work from home most days of the week, this allows me to be available for all pet needs - morning, lunch time, and after work walks are a part of my daily schedule when we have a dog to take care of. Lots of mental stimulation and training exercises throughout the day to keep them out of trouble helps too! About: I grew up with many animals, both my own pets, and animals on my grandfather's dairy farm (he was also a vet). I live in the country in Richmond, and have cats, young kids and animals Rover won't let me name in the description...but they provide eggs. We have dogs in our "extended family" and we are well accustomed to dogs but we do not have one ourselves at this time. If your dog is 100% safe with those people and pets and well-behaved, let's talk! Independently insured. We enjoy hosting dogs, and are home most days of the week for most of the day. We enjoy walking with dogs and playing fetch (if dogs like to do that) on our hill in our yard. We would need to do a meet & greet to make sure it is a good match. Our yard is not fenced, and we are on a dirt road in the country with woods on the property and surrounding it, so dogs should not be prone to bolting etc. They must be 100% safe with young kids, cats and free range egg producers. No aggressive or reactive dogs please.

About: I've been an animal lover and taken care of pets my whole life! Growing up, we had the sweetest yellow lab named Pete. Now, my partner and I adopt old pets and care for them during their retirement. I love animals and will care for your pets as if they were my own. ****** PLEASE NOTE ****** that we have two dogs (an elderly deaf pug named Alice, and a senior terrier mix named Edie) and one cat. Our pets are friendly towards other dogs, cats, and people who come to visit/ stay with us. I am an educator at the local elementary school, and offer pet care services to neighbors and visitors to the area. About: When I was growing up my family always had dogs and cats. I have two dogs of my own (I have a senior shepherd mix and a 1.5 year old lab mix) as well as a cat. I work with middle school students during the school year and would love to spend my summer taking care of animals. My dogs are my priority so I can’t commit to overnights but with my days free this summer I would love to do some dog walking, house sitting and cat sitting. I work full-time during the school year but I have the summers off with plenty of free time to spend cuddling with some cats. My dogs use a long lead out back and aren’t left unsupervised for long. About: I've been taking care of pets for two decades and will love them like I love my own. I believe the best way to teach a dog is positive reinforcement and will work with whatever routines you have established with your furry family member. I work from home 3 days per week and the days are flexible except Thursday when I have to be at my office in Montpelier. I can go home on my lunch breaks for walks on the days I'm in the office (and you're close to Montpelier) and can work from your home if I'm housesitting and you have internet. As a gal in her 40s I'm pretty low key and will be very happy spending my time with your pet in your home or taking them on adventures if that's what they prefer. I love hiking and walks and have lots of friends with dogs if socialization is something you'd like for your pup.
“Julia was AWESOME. In fact, I worried that our dog, Tucker, would end up preferring to stay with her rather than come home with us! She watched our very enthusiastic 1.5 year old golden retriever for the weekend, and took him on hikes, had him splashing in brooks and meeting goats. She was easy to get in touch with, accepted our last minute booking (including squeezing in a meet and greet prior) and sent great photos. 10/10 recommend!!”

“Totally thrilled with the stay! A perfect home for sensitive dogs - great people and a peaceful environment. Barbara and Darryll are warm, caring people and very responsive to my dogs needs, plus sent regular updates and pictures throughout the stay. My dog is a Belgian Shepherd and can be anxious and at times reactive, but she was relaxed and quiet while staying here. It was ideal because they were home with her most of the time and kept a consistent routine for her. She found her place on a couch by the window so she could watch the squirrels in the yard, just like at home. I felt safe leaving my dogs with such kind people, thank you Barbara and Darryll! I can't recommend them highly enough!”
“We recently went on an overseas trip and needed somewhere for our pup to stay. We definitely didn't want to board him at a kennel/doggie daycare, so reached out to Eric. I can't put into words how happy we were with Eric & his family for how they took care of Jerome. Frequent photos and updates allowed us to enjoy our trip while knowing that Jerome was being treated as part of their family. Well definitely be reaching out to Eric again if/when we need a place for Jerome to stay. Would rate 10 stars if we could, such a great experience (for us and Jerome) :)”

About: Growing up around a wide variety of animals has given me the skills and passion needed to be an attentive and responsible carer of all kinds of pets. I've owned several dogs, cats, rodents, and horses. I was responsible for administering medications, accommodating pets with special needs, becoming attuned to various behaviors and habits, and adhering to specific individualized training methods. I'm currently working full-time from home as a customer service rep for a small, local company and mothering my 2 year old toddler (who is very gentle and respectful around all animals). I'm fortunately very flexible with my schedule and can accommodate both last-minute and long-term schedules! Being a sincere animal lover, I'm always enthusiastically willing to tend to the needs of any pets that are under my care. I believe that both people and animals benefit from living in a clean and comfortable space, so I seek to maintain and accommodate that kind of positive atmosphere in your pet's home.
“We couldn’t ask for a better experience with Chad. Our family stayed in Smugglers’ Notch/Stowe area and our resort (if you do timeshare, you understand) doesn’t allow pets. We still wanted our dog close and finding Chad is awesome. He took the time to discuss ahead of boarding all necessary details about Pakun. He even asked for written notes and sent daily pictures and videos. We are kept updated especially with important details about our dog’s behavior. We could tell our Pakun was treated so well. Our English Springer’s hair was not tangled and he was clean when we picked him up. It is hard to believe since our dog has videos of walks, playing in the park and playdates with other dogs,he even did enrichment activities. Our dog is used to group boarding when we go on vacation, he usually comes back smelly and all tangled up. We are so pleased with our experience this time and we are so glad we brought him to have his own vacation with Chad.”

“We were so happy to find someone who is fear free certified & uses positive reinforcement and were thrilled when Maria let us know she was available to watch our 7 month old puppy on short notice. Our puppy had never been alone or away from us so we were very nervous but when we arrived at Maria’s home, we were put at ease when she let him approach her vs. coming over to greet him as he can be a bit shy at first. Our pup took to Maria fairly quickly and once we went inside, Maria introduced her dog Lalo. Lalo was very sweet and so patient with our pup who was extremely excited to have a friend to play with. We were worried our pup would have a hard time with us leaving but we were actually able to sneak out the door/leave while our pup played with Lalo! Our pup is a high energy breed and Maria made sure he got both physical and mental stimulation by bringing him on several walks and offering a Kong. He slept almost the whole 3 hour drive home! We received our first update from Maria shortly after we dropped off our pup and she continued to send frequent updates and texted back very quickly - again putting our worries at ease! We would absolutely recommend Maria and if we are ever in the area again, utilize her services!”
