“We couldn’t ask for a better experience with Chad. Our family stayed in Smugglers’ Notch/Stowe area and our resort (if you do timeshare, you understand) doesn’t allow pets. We still wanted our dog close and finding Chad is awesome. He took the time to discuss ahead of boarding all necessary details about Pakun. He even asked for written notes and sent daily pictures and videos. We are kept updated especially with important details about our dog’s behavior. We could tell our Pakun was treated so well. Our English Springer’s hair was not tangled and he was clean when we picked him up. It is hard to believe since our dog has videos of walks, playing in the park and playdates with other dogs,he even did enrichment activities. Our dog is used to group boarding when we go on vacation, he usually comes back smelly and all tangled up. We are so pleased with our experience this time and we are so glad we brought him to have his own vacation with Chad.”

Kevin and his Great Dane, Maki, very calm and easy-going, made perfect companions for our active 2-year-old doggie. When highways were closed due to an unforeseen nor’easter, Kevin without hesitation generously offered to keep Bentley on if necessary. We love that Kevin works at home so there would be someone with Bentley in a cozy, relaxed setting, a much better alternative to boarding at a kennel, especially for a social family dog like ours who needs regular loving human interaction. “We were so happy to find someone who is fear free certified & uses positive reinforcement and were thrilled when Maria let us know she was available to watch our 7 month old puppy on short notice. Our puppy had never been alone or away from us so we were very nervous but when we arrived at Maria’s home, we were put at ease when she let him approach her vs. coming over to greet him as he can be a bit shy at first. Our pup took to Maria fairly quickly and once we went inside, Maria introduced her dog Lalo. Lalo was very sweet and so patient with our pup who was extremely excited to have a friend to play with. We were worried our pup would have a hard time with us leaving but we were actually able to sneak out the door/leave while our pup played with Lalo! Our pup is a high energy breed and Maria made sure he got both physical and mental stimulation by bringing him on several walks and offering a Kong. He slept almost the whole 3 hour drive home! We received our first update from Maria shortly after we dropped off our pup and she continued to send frequent updates and texted back very quickly - again putting our worries at ease! We would absolutely recommend Maria and if we are ever in the area again, utilize her services!”
About: Grew up around dogs, my family has always had one in our lives. Feel I have a special bond with dogs, big and small, and rarely do I experience coming across a dog that does not warm up to me. Experienced in all forms of taking care of dogs, from walking and feeding, to playing and living with, sitting for family and friends both in their home and ours. I work full time from home but have a lot of flexibility during the day. Early mornings and evenings can be accommodated with simple planning. My family currently has an older female beagle who is sweet as can be, and very lazy. She is not aggressive towards other dogs and is fine being around dogs. We have three little children who are completely accustomed to having dogs present, and love to help with feeding and play time. We live in a small house but could accommodate 1 dog for short stays if need be, preferably small-medium sized (less than 40lbs). We do not have a fenced-in yard but live near a dog park and excellent areas for walking.

I am experienced in administer medication and maintain a similar schedule to what you have. Research shows animals have less anxiety staying in their environment when owners are away. I strive to maintain that when you’re gone I work from home part of the time and travel the NEK the other part. I’m a social worker for my regular job but I am flexible with my schedule. I have days off on Sundays and Mondays to help with that. I follow as close to their normal schedule as you do. It helps with their anxiety and transition. If you walk them in the mornings, I will do the same. I prefer to watch animals in their home to make them more comfortable.

Dogs have the downstairs of the home, and cats have the upstairs. I am comfortable with administering basically any medication except needles, the only needle exception being for diabetic animals.

About: I have been around cats since I was a young child. My mom had cats and they were kept very neat and clean. At one point my mom had 32 cats. Nobody would have guessed it by coming in the house. When I was grown and moved out I continued to have cats. I have had all types of cats. They range from big to small, males and females, friendly and not so friendly. Currently we have 3 tuxedo cats that are all very friendly with their very own personalities. I enjoy cats because they have their own personalities and yet they are very independent. They have strong souls. A cat has a way of being very mysterious. Their purr is their way of letting you know how happy and content they are. It truly is very soothing to listen too, at least for me. They are individuals with their own likes and dislikes and I don't know if I've met two cats that are the same. I also understand that cats may also have special needs and require special care whether they are young or old and that can be anything from food, to medicine, to handling. I have experienced it all in my many years of cat care.

About: My schedule is flexible so I'm able to spend time throughout the day with your fur baby. I'm active and happy to play fetch for hours! I like to take puppers for multiple walks and give lots of love and pets. The clients I sit for like the fact they can contact me last minute and I'm generally able to adjust my schedule to be available. My schedule changes from week to week but feel free to contact me to double check my availability no matter the season! I like when clients leave me detailed instructions on what their pets normal schedules are, that way there's less stress put on myself and on your fur friend! I'm able to work from home most days of the week, this allows me to be available for all pet needs - morning, lunch time, and after work walks are a part of my daily schedule when we have a dog to take care of. Lots of mental stimulation and training exercises throughout the day to keep them out of trouble helps too! Now, my partner and I adopt old pets and care for them during their retirement. Our pets are friendly towards other dogs, cats, and people who come to visit/ stay with us. I am an educator at the local elementary school, and offer pet care services to neighbors and visitors to the area. I generally offer 3-4 walks per day, including one longer adventure to mountain trails, or another nearby, dog friendly destination. I'm happy to bring your pup to any of their favorite spots (within reason). About: My family and I are pet lovers and have 2 of our own. We live in the outskirts of town in a quiet old farm house with a backyard so plenty of space for activities. Walking, hiking, and fetch are our favorites. I have done house/ dog sitting for many friends and people in the past and now that my daughter is older I would love to get back to it. During your pet's stay, we will go for many walks as well as hikes on any of the surrounding trails. We live very close to the Rail Trail, our pup loves going for walks and jogs there. We have a nice backyard for outdoor play, we, unfortunately, do not have a fenced-in yard. Weekends are completely free for me, that's when I get free time to do fun outdoor activities with my daughter and our pup. About: I have been fortunate enough to have grown up with dogs and then continue to own dogs for my entire life. While growing up we owned big dogs, little dogs, smart dogs, goofy dogs and everything in between. When I had a farm and family I continued the tradition of having all types, sizes and temperaments of dogs. I have been solely responsible for training, care and loving all these pups. To say I have learned a lot the old fashioned way would be an understatement. Currently,,I own six Australian Shepherds. I started a very small but very responsible breeding program in 2020. I would have one litter a year by different moms. After a lot of research and talking to different rescues I learned how this particular breed is very misunderstood and end up abandoned or turned over to shelters. I then immediately came to the conclusion I did not want to add to this situation but wanted to be part of the solution. I then turned my sights to rescuing. This has become my passion and I am still helping out Australian Shepherds Furever rescue 3 years later. I have raised pups for them and took the mothers as well. I have personally interviewed and filtered through possible adopters for the pups and the mothers when they were ready. I trained all of our puppies and continue the training processes with the fosters. I have also done some competing with my Aussies and have gained achievement rewards with them. I have a love and passion for all animals and respect each animal individually. Each one is different and learn, trust and love differently. It's this understanding that separates me from other individuals. I currently have 6 Aussies, three cats and all kinds of farm animals. My focus is mostly with the cats and dogs. I do work a full time job but when I'm at home I'm rotating dogs so each one can get the love, attention, stimulation and focus that they deserve. I am always working on training, repetition, and a schedule so days and nights run smoothly in the home. Every dog and cat gets the time and love that they deserve and seek. I'm looking to fill weekends currently and if it's close by I could pull off a week here and there to spend time with other's pets. During these times my other half is home and can show them the attention they need. We won't tell my other half but they enjoy mom time better... Wink wink While in a clients home and taking care of the clients fur babies I will keep the same schedule and routine that those fur babies are already use to. Additionally, if they need to be medicated I will follow those guidelines as well as any outdoor or exercise guidelines. The last thing that I want to do is upset those fur babies anymore than they may already be because mom and dad are gone. My goal is for those fur babies to become part of my large family of fur babies and except me as one of their own. About: I have taken care of my family and friend’s dogs for years. I just found out about Rover from a friend who’s been on Rover for some time and she’s told me just how fun and rewarding it is, so I am giving it a go! I have a Yellow Lab of my own “Jader” who loves going for hikes and swimming in my pond. Currently I am very flexible and would be able to provide walks, pet sitting, and potentially be willing to board on a case by case basis. I look forward to where this Rover journey takes me! At the time I am in flight school which is part time and I have quite a bit of flexibility. So days and evenings are doable. I live on a 100 acre horse farm at the end of quiet dirt road so there is very little traffic. When you come by for the first time you will think this is doggy heaven. My Lab Jader is very easy going and gets along with most dogs. Of course before entertaining any boarding I would have to see how Jader gets along with your dog. Other than that I am used to walking and hiking in public areas so walking the rec path or going up the Pinnacle would not be an issue.
About: I’ve had dogs in my family my whole life. I have a weiner dog named Vinny that I adore. I jump at all opportunities to dog sit for friends and family. About: Hi, I’m Jess, I’ve had animals my entire life, currently have 2 pups of my own. I also have worked at an animal shelter for over 12 years, which included kennel care, dogs walks from puppy, easy walkers to harder walker that needed extra guidance. Also included socializing the dogs from super shy ones to clingy out going ones. Also have cat experience from shy timmed cats to also clingy out going ones. Have experience with having to give pets meds and recovery times if needed. I enjoy talking my pups for walks, hikes and play times, Hi, I’m currently a stay at home mom to my daughter who would need to come with me time to time. I would be able to do drop in visits or walks with your pets including photos and updates while we are there. I have a fenced yard for my pups, go on daily walks. And weekly hikes. Tons of love snuggles and playtime for them. I would make sure they get everything they needed rather it’s snuggling or getting the playtime zoomies out.
About: I have always been around pets of all kinds; reptiles, house pets, farm animals, even a tarantula. I am caring and attentive and up for anything! I work from home and set my own work schedule. Pet care can fit right into my flexible schedule. I would love to have a companion on my walks, as I listen to my podcasts!! I like to do my research on a particular pet if I am going to care for it. This ensures I will properly handle and care for the pet, as they vary!
About: I've cared for all kinds of animals including farm animals like chickens and goats to typical house pets, Right down to a sugar glider once I have a wonderful schedule that allows me 3 days off. With school getting ready to pick back up again and winter on its way. I'm looking for a little extra income and what better way than to spend some hours with the best things on the planet, pets! Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are my days off so those are the days I will be available most often. Though, because I don't leave for work until noon, I would be open to morning drop-ins when possible on the weekends. It's important for pets to know they're taken care of fresh food and water. Some play time and company clean litter boxes and walks. Their comfort is key.

He even asked for written notes and sent daily pictures and videos. We are kept updated especially with important details about our dog’s behavior. We could tell our Pakun was treated so well. Our English Springer’s hair was not tangled and he was clean when we picked him up. It is hard to believe since our dog has videos of walks, playing in the park and playdates with other dogs,he even did enrichment activities. Our dog is used to group boarding when we go on vacation, he usually comes back smelly and all tangled up. We are so pleased with our experience this time and we are so glad we brought him to have his own vacation with Chad.”

“Kevin is a trustworthy find. We left our young Pyredoodle with Kevin while we were abroad, confident our pooch was in good, capable, safe hands. Kevin and his Great Dane, Maki, very calm and easy-going, made perfect companions for our active 2-year-old doggie. When highways were closed due to an unforeseen nor’easter, Kevin without hesitation generously offered to keep Bentley on if necessary. We love that Kevin works at home so there would be someone with Bentley in a cozy, relaxed setting, a much better alternative to boarding at a kennel, especially for a social family dog like ours who needs regular loving human interaction. We would gladly call on Kevin again.”

“We were so happy to find someone who is fear free certified & uses positive reinforcement and were thrilled when Maria let us know she was available to watch our 7 month old puppy on short notice. Our puppy had never been alone or away from us so we were very nervous but when we arrived at Maria’s home, we were put at ease when she let him approach her vs. coming over to greet him as he can be a bit shy at first. Our pup took to Maria fairly quickly and once we went inside, Maria introduced her dog Lalo. Lalo was very sweet and so patient with our pup who was extremely excited to have a friend to play with. We were worried our pup would have a hard time with us leaving but we were actually able to sneak out the door/leave while our pup played with Lalo! Our pup is a high energy breed and Maria made sure he got both physical and mental stimulation by bringing him on several walks and offering a Kong. He slept almost the whole 3 hour drive home! We received our first update from Maria shortly after we dropped off our pup and she continued to send frequent updates and texted back very quickly - again putting our worries at ease! We would absolutely recommend Maria and if we are ever in the area again, utilize her services!”
About: Grew up around dogs, my family has always had one in our lives. Feel I have a special bond with dogs, big and small, and rarely do I experience coming across a dog that does not warm up to me. Experienced in all forms of taking care of dogs, from walking and feeding, to playing and living with, sitting for family and friends both in their home and ours. I work full time from home but have a lot of flexibility during the day. Early mornings and evenings can be accommodated with simple planning. My family currently has an older female beagle who is sweet as can be, and very lazy. She is not aggressive towards other dogs and is fine being around dogs. We have three little children who are completely accustomed to having dogs present, and love to help with feeding and play time. We live in a small house but could accommodate 1 dog for short stays if need be, preferably small-medium sized (less than 40lbs). We do not have a fenced-in yard but live near a dog park and excellent areas for walking.
About: I’ve taken care of animals my whole life. I value the love you give to your babies, so I strive to do the same! I have taken care of a variety of animals and care for them as my own. I am experienced in administer medication and maintain a similar schedule to what you have. Research shows animals have less anxiety staying in their environment when owners are away. I strive to maintain that when you’re gone I work from home part of the time and travel the NEK the other part. I’m a social worker for my regular job but I am flexible with my schedule. I have days off on Sundays and Mondays to help with that. I follow as close to their normal schedule as you do. It helps with their anxiety and transition. If you walk them in the mornings, I will do the same. I prefer to watch animals in their home to make them more comfortable.

I’m your girl. Everything else closed when you have work? I’m your girl. Taking a weekend trip but no where is open? I’m. Your. Girl. I am not only here for the convenience of you but also your beloved furry friends My yard is currently not fenced,(fence coming soon!) but I do offer leash training for more enjoyable walking experiences. I do daily walks for all dogs no matter the training level they are at. I have 1 very friendly lab mix who would keep your dog friendly dogs company, and I also offer special care for those special pups who are more people dogs than dog dogs for no additional charge. If your dog is crate trained they will be crated for bedtime (9pm-6am) with overnight potty breaks if your pup requires them as well. I keep all dogs and cats separated. Dogs have the downstairs of the home, and cats have the upstairs. I am comfortable with administering basically any medication except needles, the only needle exception being for diabetic animals.

About: I've been taking care of pets for two decades and will love them like I love my own. I believe the best way to teach a dog is positive reinforcement and will work with whatever routines you have established with your furry family member. I work from home 3 days per week and the days are flexible except Thursday when I have to be at my office in Montpelier. I can go home on my lunch breaks for walks on the days I'm in the office (and you're close to Montpelier) and can work from your home if I'm housesitting and you have internet. As a gal in her 40s I'm pretty low key and will be very happy spending my time with your pet in your home or taking them on adventures if that's what they prefer. I love hiking and walks and have lots of friends with dogs if socialization is something you'd like for your pup.
