“We have just returned from a month long vacation for us and one for our dog Chance with Shay & Jay. He had a wonderful experience with the whole family. He was happy and very well cared for while enjoying long walks, adventures and snuggles. Afraid of loud noises, Chance was given extra love over the 4th of July and during thunder storms. Sending frequent photos and adventure updates kept our minds at ease. We could tell he was so happy I worried he would not want to leave! We highly recommend Shay & Jay as care givers of your special dog no matter how long the visit. We definitely will use them in the future.”
“Second time using Miguel’s services it won’t be the last, it is clear my two pups feel very comfortable around him and his family - the communication while they are with him is top tier, and as someone who last minute changes timeframes for pick up and drop off he is very flexible which I appreciate. I will certainly be using his services again, Thank you Míguel!”

“Raye is the best! She was very responsive and kept me frequently updated. She took Hugo everywhere, the park, drive in cinema, on a hike. I think now I’ll have to level up my play game. Also, she was pretty flexible, my flight was canceled and that was very helpful.”

“I cant say enough good things about Myrna. She took exceptional care of my senior pup and went above and beyond to make him feel safe, comfortable, and loved during his stay. My dog has some incontinence issues and can be very attached to his people. Myrna was incredibly understanding, accomidating, and patient with his special needs. Thank you!”

“Ciara and her family were amazing! They treated our fur babies like her own and her littles just loved our girls. We felt very at ease dropping them off and picking them up and were very thankful for all the sweet pictures throughout their stay. Thank you Ciara!”

“If I could give Amy and Grant more than five stars, I would! Leaving your dogs with someone else is never easy, but from the moment we met them, they made us feel welcome and at ease. They took the time to show us both the inside of their home and their yard, which was very important to us, and it was immediately obvious how organized and prepared they are. They asked thoughtful questions about Charlie and Roscoe's personalities, routines, feeding schedules, medications, supplements, allergies, and habits so they could care for them exactly the way we do. Amy and Grant took the time to understand each of their individual needs, and it was obvious from the beginning that they truly wanted to provide the same level of care our dogs receive at home. We had a last-minute schedule change that was completely my fault, and they were incredibly understanding and accommodating without making me feel like it was an inconvenience. Throughout their seven-day stay, they sent multiple updates every day with photos and videos that made us smile and reassured us that our boys were happy, safe, and loved. It was especially sweet to see their children spending time with Charlie and Roscoe and treating them like members of the family. The thing that impressed me most was the incredible attention to detail. They sent home a spreadsheet documenting everything—from feedings, medications, and supplements to personalities, allergies, and routines. Because we have a very specific way of caring for our dogs, that level of organization meant the world to us. Amy and Grant cared for Charlie and Roscoe as if they were their own, and that's something you simply can't put a price on. We are so grateful for everything they did, and I would trust them with our dogs again in a heartbeat. I recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone looking for caring, dependable, organized, and genuinely wonderful Rover sitters.”

“Michaela was absolutely fantastic with Zephyr and it was so clear he had such a great time with her this weekend! During our stay she sent tons of pictures to keep me updated on what Zeph was up to and was very communicative throughout the whole rover process. We met ahead of time during a meet and greet where Zeph got tons of time to get to know his new aunt Michaela and vice versa and it was clear to see how great she was with handling him from the start. We will absolutely be back and are so happy to have met you! Thanks so much for taking such great care of Zephyr!”
“Kendra is absolutely amazing! She sent me detailed updates multiple times a day with photos as well. This really eased my mind as I was on a week long vacation out of the country with a 24 hour time difference. She also went above and beyond and took Theo on outings as well! I will definitely be using Kendra again and I highly recommend her. Theo came back home so calm and tired so I know he had plenty of play time 😊”

“My dogs are family to me, so I'm always nervous leaving them somewhere new. No worries needed though, Stacey was great! We had a meet and greet to ensure our dogs got along, and I was able to meet her at her home in advance to see where my dogs would be staying. She asked thoughtful questions about my dogs' needs and made sure I had peace of mind while I was on my trip. She has a fully fenced in yard which was great for my younger, high energy dog to run laps around the house and get her energy out. My dogs have a somewhat significant age range - one is 1.5 years old and the other is 8.5, and she was able to cater to both of their activity levels to make sure they had a fulfilling experience. We will definitely work with Stacey again the next time we need dog care!”

“I was so impressed with Matt! He sent updates and pics of my pups and they had a wonderful visit with him. We will definitely be booking with him whenever we stay in Richmond.”

“Peyton was wonderful - super responsive and agreed to watch my dog VERY last minute. I was anxious about leaving Ember because she typically has separation anxiety but she did great and Peyton sent updates and pictures the entire time I was gone. Great first experience with Rover and Peyton!”

“Amanda did a fantastic job with Willow. I was impressed with Amanda’s follow up. I received pictures multiple times a day. She understands that Willow is my world. She made sure that I knew that Willow was eating interacting with the other dogs and comfortable where she was. Not only will I rebook with Amanda. I already have.”

About: For the last 5 years, I've been volunteering care for a herd of goats on Gillie's Creek Park. I am also the primary farm sitter for several friends' homesteads and a frequent pet sitter for friends and acquaintances. I have a broad range of experience: handling elderly animal care, newborn feeding/monitoring, pet anxiety, unique medication/feeding schedules, and general care for most farm/domesticated animals. I have a deep love for animals and their welfare with a desire to assist you and your pet in any way possible. I'm currently working part-time with a very flexible schedule. Typically not away from home for more than 3 hours at a time during marked available hours. My schedule can be adjustable if coordinating in advance. If caring in your home, I ensure that all items are back where they were originally left and that all feeding bowls and areas accessed are cleaned and organized. My home has a fenced-in yard, plenty of plants, natural lighting, and no other pets to contend for attention or food.
“Jonathan was absolutely amazing!! My family found my puppy Coco in the park, a man just dropped her and her sister off in a box and left. So ever since we got her Coco has had very bad anxiety. I needed a sitter and I was very nervous because she has anxiety. However, after talking with Jonathan and having a meet and greet, my nerves slowly faded away. Jonathan sent updates and videos of Coco, and Coco ended up getting comfortable with the other dogs and played. Jonathan’s an amazing sitter and I’d definitely hire him again!!”

About: For the past 5 years, I’ve been the go-to pet sitter for family and friends, caring for dogs of all shapes, sizes, and personalities. Whether it’s playtime, walks, or cozy cuddles, I treat every pup like a part of the family. I get off work around 4pm and have a few hours every night. I am usually available on the weekends to provide care for your pets! I am always very conscious of keeping pets indoors and leashed. Keeping your pet safe and out of harms way is my #1 priority. I will also make sure your pet is healthy and happy!

I loved receiving daily photos and updates while I was traveling. Knowing Alyssa was watching my baby gave me peace of mind. I would rebook Alyssa without hesitation!”

About: I have had many pets in my life ranging from dogs and cats, to turtles and parakeets. With this, I can promise I am used to all the different personalities pets can offer. Whether they are energetic or apathetic I can promise you your pet is in safe hands. I am currently on break from college and am doing this as a way to make some extra money. Whether its giving medication, feeding instructions, walking habits, etc. I promise to prioritize your pets needs as if they were my own.

“Joey watched our dog Layla for the second time and we could tell she was happy to see him. He did all expected task and more. Our Layla has been picky about food lately so he made sure accommodated for her to complete her meals. We will continue to request Joey for Layla.”

“Meghan is one of the best cat sitters I’ve ever had! So kind and caring with my kitties, amazingly communicative, and truly generous. She did an amazing job taking care of my cats!!”

“I have had Ashlei sit for my cat twice before and I couldn't think of any other person I would rather have sit for her again. My cat had just been spayed and I was very nervous leaving her over night but Ashlei took such great care of her and provided me with such detailed updates that I was more than confident that she was in very capable hands.”

“Kat is such an amazing sitter! I'm in the process of moving, so lot's of stress.. but I didn't worry about my animals AT ALL. She went above and beyond keeping me updated and sending detailed photos/descriptions showing that my house and animals were safe and well cared for.”

“Victoria was wonderful in taking care of the kittens! She was on time everyday and sent wonderful updates of the babes. They were well loved and cared for we are so grateful!”

About: I’ve lived with dogs as long as I can remember and have had a significant part in their care for about 10 years. The last 4 years I’ve been the primary caregiver for my pets. Since I was a teenager I’ve been the designated pet and house sitter for friends and family! I currently work full time but work from home two days per week. My mornings before work and evenings after work are dedicated to the pups. If necessary I am able to take a long lunch for some extra pup time. I have a fully fenced in yard where my friendly pups love to play and a puppy proofed home. Pets are welcome anywhere people are allowed, including furniture. My 2 dachshunds are super outgoing with other dogs and can keep up with big dogs! In a client’s home I will take into account any of the house rules of the pet parents.

About: I have had cats since I was little, so I am very familiar with them! I provide calm, personalized care that respects each cat’s unique personality, routine, and boundaries. I understand that cats thrive in familiar environments, so I focus on maintaining their normal schedule while offering gentle attention, patience, and reassurance on their terms. With attentive observation and reliable communication, I strive to be a quiet, trusted presence that helps your cat feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away.

“Jasmine was great! She was not able to find my cat all of the time but she still sent pictures showing she was dropping in and tried very hard to catch my cat on camera. She even did the litter box even though I forgot to put that on the instructions.”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can’t say enough wonderful things about Miguel and his wife! They took amazing care of my fur baby, Church, for the past three days, and the experience was absolutely delightful. From the moment we met, Miguel made sure that Church felt comfortable and safe, even introducing him to their own dog to help them get along. His understanding of dog language, especially with big dogs like mine, is truly impressive. Miguel and his wife are such pleasant, caring people. They kept me informed every step of the way, sending updates and even videos, which gave me so much peace of mind. They’re incredibly accommodating, even fitting us in on short notice, which I really appreciated. Church came back home happy, tired, and clearly well-loved. About: Lifetime lover of furry animal friends - adopting my puggle and in turn, her puppy sister/bff the Norfolk Terrier were easily the two best decisions I ever made. You can rest assured that your doggies are safe, comfortable and pawtying down with me by their side. My girls have warm blankets waiting in the dryer when we come in from cold walks. I believe in going a few extra miles to truly spoil our fur ball angel nuggets bc why not? Being greeted by them when you walk through the door is the best thing ever and I have been caring for animals the majority of my life. This is the most rewarding, satisfying and not to mention FUN "job" of all time, pick me
About: I've loved dogs for the longest time and ever since I've had my own, you quickly realize they are more than a pet, they are family. My dog and I will treat your dog just like family during their visit. I succeeded well in training my dog on my own from house training, to off leash, to playing hide and seek, and I understand the important component of upholding and instilling any of your training while you're not present. As of June 30th, I no longer work remotely, but work very close to home. I still will have plenty of time to give your pup comfort and attention throughout the day. I am available most weekdays and weekends, but may become more limited depending on the season. I have 1 dog, a small Yorkshire Terrier who is known as Mr. President because he loves to greet and befriend each pet or person he sees, no matter the size. He is super friendly and playful and would love to be a great friend and playmate with your pup. I can easily crate your dog if needed with one you provide or with one of my own crates or expandale play pens. My yard is open, but there is plenty of space for fun. I enjoy long walks, so if your pup needs to get in multiple miles, I can make that happen. I have a multi level townhome. Dogs are allowed anywhere in the home except for the kitchen. If your dog loves the outdoors, i have a small deck and a small enclosed front balcony they can hang on. There are plenty of toys and puzzles, but you are of course welcome to provide their favorite toy.

So, when can I start? I am excited to meet your adorable pets! Please reach out to me if you have any questions or need certain times for your loves! Hi there! I have a townhome with two dogs and prefer to take care of your pups at your home where they feel comfortable the most! 😃
About: Hi, my name is Alex! I go by they/them pronouns, mostly. I’ve been around every kind of animal at least once, and I’ve had all the pets you can imagine! I’ve been around animals even before I was born and I know how to read their moods like second nature. I used to work at Holiday Pet Barn, and I’ve only ever had jobs with animals. I get along with them better than people! I love sitting back with pets and curling up with them for a nap or a cuddle session; they’re the best cuddlers. I also enjoy watching dogs run around and play or chase a ball. Yuki loves to play fetch, so dogs at my house will always have a playmate with her! I have cats and dogs of my own, but the cats tend to keep to themselves. I will only board dogs who are alright with cats and get along with other dogs. Mine are always happy to see a new face. It’s easy for me to view other pets as my own and I’ll treat them as such. I guarantee they’ll be safe and happy. I hope they love my furry kids too! Pet care is my full time job now, but if I am watching your pet, I will sleep at your house to be with them as much as I can. When boarding at my house, if I’m not around, my mom will be, so the animals are rarely ever alone. Despite possibly jumping between different pets, I can guarantee no animal will go more than 5 hours without a potty break. I also have friends who can help me out in an emergency. I treat every animal like my own, including calling them dummies when they do something goofy! I let animals on the furniture (in my home), and if they are bad, they can be reprimanded and crated. My cats avoid most animals that come over, but some of them love dogs. Additionally, we have feral cats that we have adopted outside our house, so any dog coming over MUST be alright with cats. I currently do pet care full-time, so when I am watching your pets I am with them the entire time. The only time I would not be with your fuzzy kids is when I have to go run errands/check on other pets. I do my best to treat every animal I watch like they are my own. This means lots of cuddles and playtimes, along with paying careful attention to their needs.

Growing up surrounded by animals, I developed a natural instinct for their needs and a deep love for every wagging tail and wet nose.
“We were worried chewy wouldn’t want to come home! Ava and Ross are definitely dog whisperers. He had a great time and they sent lots of good photos. We felt he was in safe hands.”

“Aaren and Jordon are practically family now. This is the second time they have watched my girl and they take the BEST care of her. They love on her, make sure she is getting fresh air, and even take her on outings. I almost hesitated to write this review because I don’t want yall to know how great they are and then start taking all to spots - just kidding! I can’t be selfish! Everyone deserves to feel the peace I feel when my pup stays with them ❤️.”

“Deven and Tyreek provided excellent care for our dog while we were away and sent photos of her every other day. We really appreciated the piece of mind they provided so that we could enjoy ourselves!”

“Ellysia is the best! My pups had the greatest time with her and her family. Updated daily with pictures and activities. We will definitely be using her again and recommend her hands down.”

“Hilary and Wally are great. They are super easy to communicate with, and when our plans are not definite they work with us on pick up and drop off times. They have a fenced in back yard, and our dog loves it there. Hilary is also great about sending pictures during his stay.”

“Jesse was so sweet and enthusiastic about watching Ripley on short notice over the Christmas holiday. Lots of walks, attention, and hanging with other hounds…she loved being a part of his pack. 😊”

“Kourtney is so wonderful and Riley dog always looks so content and happy in the pictures I get. She was very flexible and understanding of schedule changes. This is Riley’s second time staying with her for several days, and it’s so great to know Riley is in good hands and being cared for so well.”
