“My dog did great with Jessica! This was my first time leaving my dog, Papas, for an extended period, 9 days while I was out of town. He had been to a boarding facility for a day, up to 3-4 days at a time. He is small, 12 lbs, but being with too many other dogs gives him anxiety, especially if they have a lot of energy and are in his face a lot. He would prefer to be with larger dogs, but with traditional boarding there are so many dogs that the commotion just gives him anxiety and he stays by himself a lot. I didn’t have the heart to send him there for this trip away, so I figured with Rover, a more controlled environment - with humans who could give him proper attention, and just a few other dogs would be a more positive environment. My dog loved Jessica and wagged his tail right on up to her right away. Her daughter was sweet and gentle with him as well. I received pictures regularly and never felt the need to check in. I felt he was taken care of and having a good time, as was evident when I picked him up and he was exhausted! I will definitely reach out to Jessica again next time I need Papas to be taken care of and know he is in good hands.”

About: I’m back on Rover for summer break 2026. I’ve taken care of cats and dogs (and fish) since I was a teenager, and had a beloved dog for 13 years who passed away in 2023. As a high school counselor, I’m available for drop-ins, walks, crate breaks, and playtime all summer long. If you have a dog or cat who needs a crate break during the day or you just want to have some company or exercise before you get home from work, I’m here for that. If your pet is more of a recluse, I can be there for company and to take care of them, while fully respecting their personality. I will follow your directions specifically, because I know how important it is to maintain diet, house rules, meal schedules, bathroom routines, and medication times for a pet’s health and well-being. I prefer to watch pets in their homes because after having a dog, I understand how much less stress it is for them. I’ll take daily pictures (at least) and ask what time of day is best for you to receive them (especially if you’re in a different time zone). I’m happy to watch pets recovering from surgery too, as long as there are clear instructions. This was a challenge I experienced when my dog had surgery and I had to go to work, so I’d be happy to fill that need.

“My dog did great with Jessica! This was my first time leaving my dog, Papas, for an extended period, 9 days while I was out of town. He had been to a boarding facility for a day, up to 3-4 days at a time. He is small, 12 lbs, but being with too many other dogs gives him anxiety, especially if they have a lot of energy and are in his face a lot. He would prefer to be with larger dogs, but with traditional boarding there are so many dogs that the commotion just gives him anxiety and he stays by himself a lot. I didn’t have the heart to send him there for this trip away, so I figured with Rover, a more controlled environment - with humans who could give him proper attention, and just a few other dogs would be a more positive environment. My dog loved Jessica and wagged his tail right on up to her right away. Her daughter was sweet and gentle with him as well. I received pictures regularly and never felt the need to check in. I felt he was taken care of and having a good time, as was evident when I picked him up and he was exhausted! I will definitely reach out to Jessica again next time I need Papas to be taken care of and know he is in good hands.”
About: I have taken care of my neighbors and friends dogs and other pets for as long as I can remember. I have done dog sitting and walking. I am now 38 y/o. 🐾Helped take care of my Parents' 2 Beagles in adulthood. 🐾When my Husband was younger, he also had experience taking care of his Doberman/Bloodhound. 🐾Hubby and I both love dogs! We also have 1 child together that is 3 y/o and gentle. Our Daughter also loves dogs! I have decided this time around I can be a pet-sitter over the weekends & extended due to federal holidays. I wanted to prepare my Daughter for school coming up soon, so this pocket money will help, fortunately with me and my Husband's dog expertise. 🗓I am normally available to pet-sit/go out with your dog from Friday evening when I get home - Monday evening (sometimes Tuesday evening if there is a federal holiday on Monday). If you need longer pet-sitting, please communicate with me and I'll coordinate to make it work out with my Hubby to back-up. My Mom already helps baby-sit our toddler. 🏡I have a fenced yard. If you believe your dog can hop the fence, I can provide a dog tie cable. I don't like keep dogs out too long unattended unless I'm with them due to other animals, outside temperature, etc. I care for dogs like I care for my toddler. I usually take dogs out for restroom 4x or more depending if they are showing signs they want to go outside to use the grass for restroom.
