“Laura was everything we could hope for in a pet sitter and more. At the meet and greet session, it was clear that she knew what she was doing and how best to prepare for taking care of our cat, Molly. While we were out of town, Laura kept us apprised of what she was doing for Molly. Molly never made herself available for a photo, but Laura sent a photo of Molly’s feeding area so we could see that she had given Molly everything she needed. Laura went above and beyond in cleaning Molly’s litter box area, clearing the entire floor of the bathroom of tracked-around bits of litter (Molly is a very messy cat). After our return, Laura recommended some different litter boxes that might help curb Molly’s messiness in the future. That was a much appreciated step beyond our expectations!”

“Rhianna took great care of our very shy, skittish cat. He usually hides when new people enter the apartment. She was able to find him each day and even sent me pictures! I’m happy with the care she gave our cat, Toast!”

“Honey is the absolute BEST! Not only is she professional and easy-going, but her communication skills are top notch and she treats our fur babies as her own. We love the photos and comments she leaves for us while taking care of our cats. Thank you, Rover, for having a person as awesome as Honey available for us!”

“Reggie was very grateful to have Carissa come and visit. He warmed up to her quickly and loved having someone to give him pets. Carissa was communicative and managed to take some great pictures even while Reggie was demanding attention. She also brought in some packages that weren't expected to arrive while I was gone. Although it is not very often that we need a sitter, when we do, I will definitely try to rebook with Carissa.”

About: I had a Weimaraner (10 years), and I currently have a chocolate lab and rescue cat (4+ years) at home. I have taken on many dog/cat-sitting opportunities outside of my household, and I am an energetic college student with wide flexibility throughout the summer. I have experience walking, feeding, bathing (No nail-clipping) , and even teaching my dogs some tricks. I will be working an internship remotely, however, I will be home most of the time depending on my schedule. Since I am a college student, my parents will also be home so in the scenario that I am working, your pet won’t be alone. My house has a fenced yard and is a dog-loving household. We do not put our dog(s) in crates, and welcome them to hop on the couches and sometimes beds. If you typically put your pets in crates at night/etc and want to bring a crate then that is 100% ok. I also currently only have a cat who is good with dogs.
“Amanda was amazing with our kitty, who is a very picky eater. Amanda coaxed her to eat with cuddles and playing fun music, and kept us up to date about how much she was eating daily. Plus, she sent cute photos and videos every day! We knew immediately that our kitty was in good hands, & came home to a very happy cat. We're so grateful & we hope to work with Amanda many more times in the future.”
“Victoria is really great with Mixina! She looked after her twice, the first time in our home, and the second - with twice a day drop-ins. Each time Victoria's been a life-saver. Last time she even had to make sure Mixina took her medication twice a day. Victoria sent me photos and little messages throughout my travel and I found everything just as I had left it and a happy Mixina.”

“Anna was great, and we highly recommend. We met in advance to go over everything, and she was super friendly. She arrived each day exactly when she said she would and provided pics/descriptions of everything that was happening back at home. It was really reassuring to know that the cats were in such good hands. We'll definitely call on her again.”

“Jared was great with Daisy, he also was available for me when plans changed and I needed a last minute day setter so thank you for your flexibility! Next time I’m in town I’ll definitely be reaching back out. Thanks Jared!”

“I cannot thank Lyra and Scott enough for helping me out in a bind today! I was in Williamsburg visiting my boyfriend with my baby puggle and we needed to run several errands but Angel has never been left by herself for longer than MAYBE an hour. I always have someone to watch her back in Richmond but not here. This is actually the first time I’ve used a pet sitter and I couldn’t be more pleased with their service in particular. They sent me the SWEETEST updates of Angel having a wonderful time with their adorable children. She looked SO cheerful and content. It made this dog mama VERY VERY happy! I know Angel had herself a blast because she has been a tired but blissful potato. I will be using them in the future because I know my baby will be in safe hands and very loved. 10/10 recommend Lyra and Scott for any of your pet sitting needs!”

“Absolutely perfect first experience with rover. Maggie sets the bar high with a welcoming home environment. She know exactly what she is doing - let the dogs meet freely, run freely and he felt right at home. I was so nervous but knew right away he would be fine. She sent pics throughout the day for reassurance and to let me see my buddy. Thanks so much!”

“I’m so glad I found Christene for my dogs! They hadn’t ever been to a doggy day care or boarding before so I was worried how they do. They came home happy and tuckered out! She has a fenced yard and a doggy room (converted from the former garage) that’s awesome for the pups. Thanks Christene!”

“Stephanie and Max take great care of our dog when we’re visiting Williamsburg enjoying the activities. It’s great to have a place we know our dog is well cared for and having a blast.”

About: I’ve always been an animal lover, and caring for pets has been a part of my life for years. From playful puppies to senior dogs who need extra patience, I know how to adjust my care to fit each pet’s personality and needs. I have hands-on experience with feeding, walking, administering medications, crate training, and keeping pets comfortable while their owners are away. Friends and family often rely on me to watch their dogs and cats, and I treat every animal like they’re my own—plenty of cuddles, playtime, and attention included! Whether your pet is full of energy or just enjoys lounging around, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and cared for at all times. Pet care is just a natural part of my day. I’m used to building my routine around feeding, walks, playtime, and lots of love. I make sure pets get their exercise, attention, and cuddles every single day, because I know how much those little things matter. Each week, I also set time aside for things like brushing, extra play, or whatever makes them happiest. Taking care of animals doesn’t feel like a chore to me — it’s something I truly enjoy and look forward to. I care for pets like they’re part of the family! In my home, they’ll have a safe, cozy space with plenty of love, playtime, and snuggles. In your home, I follow their normal routine so they feel comfortable and cared for—whether that’s walks, meals, meds, or cuddle time. Every pet is unique, and I make sure they get the attention and affection they deserve. 💕🐾
“Sandra was fantastic! We needed to leave our dog Samwise with somebody during an appointment because he gets separation anxiety in new places and she was flexible and very communicative.”

“Ethel was great! She helped us out when another sitter cancelled close to our booking. Everything went smoothly and she was easy to communicate with. She took great care of our girl!”

“Cheyanne kept my Scooby for the holidays and not once ever made me feel like he wasn’t in good hands. She cared for our boy and kept us up to date on everything. So grateful for her services and will definitely rebook in the future!”

About: I have had dogs from puppies to seniors and they have all have been a part of my family. I have experience training puppies and even teaching old dogs new tricks. I have a wonderful home full of dog love. My family and I have boarded friends and neighbors dogs and they rely on feeding, bathing, walking and provide plenty of love and attention. I currently have a wonderful English Lab, so this requires me to feed, walk and play with him throughout the day. I welcome some friends to join us in this daily routine. I have a decent sized home with plenty of room. Dogs can roam freely in a safe environment and will enjoy nice walks in my small community. Water is always available from a gravity water bowl, treats available for training/tricks or just cause. “Jarin was a life saver when our other pet sitter cancelled at the last minute! She took wonderful care of our boy! He had a great time playing with Jenji, and Jarin kept us updated with lots of pictures and videos. Highly recommend!”

About: "Whoever said diamonds are a girl's best friend...never owned a dog" I live in a townhouse in Williamsburg with husband, our 1 year old daughter and our puppy, Korben. Dog sitting is a full family experience in our home, both our daughter and puppy love it when we have house guests. In fact our daughter’s first word was “doggie”, so it’s very important that dogs that come into our home do well with children as much as they do well with other dogs. While we don’t have a fenced in yard we make up for it with a walking path in the neighborhood and many other walking trails close by, we generally go on two walks a day, weather permitting. I've been sitting for my friends and family for as long as I can remember. So if your looking for a place where your dog will be well cared for and have a lot of fun in the process, look no further. Please don't hesitate to e-mail me with further questions, I want you to feel comfortable when you leave your dog with me while you are out of town. I work mostly from home so your pup will have the hands on attention they deserve! We offer ample love and attention through walks and belly rubs. There are occasions I will need to leave the house for work, but I’m usually not gone more than an hour or so. In those instances we’ll recreate what you do with your pup when leave your home. I really try to mimic your routine at home as best as possible. I know that coming to a new home can be stressful for the pup so I try to ease that transition by sticking to your routine as best I can.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was a kid (my own, neighbors, friends, etc)! Growing up we always had multiple pups (large and small). I work from home full time and have a flexible daily schedule so your fury friend will receive all the care and attention he/she needs! I recently moved to Williamsburg to a townhouse with a fenced in backyard. I am extremely flexible and am certain I can meet any needs your pup may have for all services offered!

“Lana was great! She was quick to respond and was able to take our dog Wally in on short notice! Her photo updates of Wally were adorable and I felt completely comfortable instantly leaving him with her and her family! Wally had such a great time, thanks again Lana!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats since I was 10. My parents taught me how to train kittens and puppies. I love to walk my neighbors’ dogs around the neighborhood and I take care of them when they go on vacation. I currently am working part time so I have plenty of time to watch your pets! I can do any time of the day or overnight, as long as I get notified a week in advance. I currently have a 6 year old yorkie who I trained when he was just 6 weeks old. He is the absolute sweetest and loves other animals. I am perfectly fine to work in any home with dogs and/or cats. I will make them happy in their home.
About: My family and friends call me the dog whisperer because I instantly form a special bond with every pup that I meet and care for! My current work schedule allows me the flexibility to be available for walks and potty breaks Monday through Friday 10AM- 2PM. The weekends are based on need. For care in my home I have a 10 year old mixed breed peek-a-poo. He gets along very well with other non aggressive male and female dogs. He is can be shy around other dogs but not aggressive. He loves children. I have 2 children ages 9 & 6. Our yard is not fenced in so we take our dog out for walks for his potty breaks
About: I’ve taken care of and had dogs and cats since I was small. In fact, I can’t remember a time when I haven’t been caring for a pet. My goal is to ensure your animals get the care they deserve while you’re away! I work from home and have a flexible schedule! I’m available to leave during the day to care for your pets, take them on walks, and feed them if needed! Within my clients home I will care for pets the same way I would if they were in my own home! “Excellent experience! Tess was punctual, followed all instructions, and handled my high-energy pup with confidence and care. Tuco was happy, well-exercised, and calm when I got home—something that doesn’t happen often. Highly recommend and will definitely book again.”

About: I am a grad student with a very flexible schedule! I have owned and cared for a range of dog breeds, from cocker spaniels to German shepherds. I even had a Great Dane for several years! No mess is too big! I’ve administered medications and love getting outdoors and would love to walk or drop into your pet! I adore cats and I have an American bobtail cat called Atlas 🐈⬛ My daily routine is incredibly flexible as I am currently working on my PhD! I pick my hours and I can work around any pet sitting/walking needs! I am a gentle person who loves to give pets and go for walks and (if willing) give belly rubs! I look after a very content male cat daily (who follows me around the house).
“Victoria is a wonderful caregiver and is thoroughly invested in the care and needs of pets. During the time she watched my dog, she built an amazing bond and really nourished a wonderful relationship with him. Would highly recommend!”

“Honey is wonderful with Honey! She sends me pictures and gives me a report on how Ciara is doing daily! Also, was very generous in giving Ciara more time mid week. I recommend Honey highly to my friends!! Thanks Honey ❤️”

“Excellent service and our dog is in great care with Hadley! We appreciate her care, responsiveness and pictures and updates and would highly recommend her to help with your pets! :)”

“Nice gentle with my girl. Willing to try whatever thought would motivate, but usually based on what I suggested. Appears to be cautious and not wanting to hurt dog. Definately likes animals. Much interactive with my dog after we all called it a day. Client was being very recalcitrant. Perhaps do some bonding before attempting walk next te”

About: I have taken care of dogs (during the day and overnight stays) ranging from 6 months to over two years. In addition to my pet sitting experiences, I have volunteered at two humane societies and specialized with the dogs. Before interacting with the dogs at the humane societies, I completed 22.5 hours of formal training, background security checks, and the Fear Free Shelter Program Core Modules. My responsibilities as a volunteer were canine enrichment activities (including making toys and interactions with dogs), recording behavioral observations, and canine handling onsite and offsite. I also enjoy running, so if your dog is up for that, they are more than welcome to join! I frequent run clubs with dogs because I love being around them and I don't have the finances to take care of my own right now (I am a graduate student). I just graduated from W&M with my Master’s in Science. I am currently job searching so my schedule is very open and flexible. Check my calendar to see when I’m can house/pet sit! At this time, I am only caring for pets in their homes. I am renting my current residence, so I cannot care for pets in my own home.
About: My beloved Summer (now deceased) was an absolute monster when she was a puppy, so I can handle it all. When she was a senior, I had no problem picking her up (60 lbs) for car rides and for bedtime (she slept with me), and took care of her when her stitches popped. It takes a lot to faze me. In high school and college, I was first aid certified and still keep a first aid kit on me at all times, so should something happen, I can get your sweet dog wrapped up if need be. My favorite activity for getting dogs' energy out is taking them to a fenced in soccer field and kicking a ball for them to run after. I currently have a 6 (ish) year old rescue named Charlotte, whom I’ve had to train as an adult dog. She’s the complete opposite of Summer: very vocal and has no interest in balls but adores sticks. Every morning, afternoon, and evening. Walks, meal times, and play time for your dog (or dogs) and my dog as well. Caring for a dog is priority #1. I’m easily Google-able and have worked for many public officials who can vouch for me. Each morning, I walk Charlotte before hitting the gym and again in the evening. I’m currently in-between jobs, so I have full availability for the next few weeks. After that, I will likely be working remotely and will be flexible. It varies by the needs of the pet and his/her family. Walks, playing in the yard, etc. are common. If your pet has a certain routine, I’m pleased to accommodate.

About: I’ve been around cats and dogs since I was barely tall enough to see over a food bowl, and that lifelong hands-on experience shaped me into someone who naturally understands animal behavior, routines, and training. I’ve personally trained my own dogs and have always been deeply involved in their care, from daily structure to behavior shaping and enrichment. Right now I share my home with a cat who keeps life interesting, and I’m very attentive to creating a happy, stable environment for pets. Animals have always been a constant part of my life, and caring for them feels less like a task and more like second nature. 🐾 My schedule is pretty structured around my work hours: I work 4pm–12am, and outside of that I’m home and available for the rest of the day. I keep my routine simple and steady, and I’m usually around in the mornings and early afternoons before heading into work. I’m not someone who’s constantly on the go or juggling a million commitments—my life is more grounded in work, home, and taking care of my pets. That balance gives me a lot of consistency and time to focus on what matters day to day. I take safety and trust seriously when it comes to animals and their environment. In the past, I’ve crate-trained my dogs and learned how to create calm, structured routines that help them feel secure and well-behaved. I’m comfortable setting boundaries in a gentle but consistent way, depending on the needs of each pet. My home is also very pet-safe, especially because my current cat is extremely curious and determined to investigate everything. I’ve adapted my space to keep hazards out of reach and ensure it’s a safe, enriched environment where pets can explore without getting into trouble. I pay close attention to what they can access and how they interact with their surroundings, so safety is always built into the way I live with animals. 🐾
“Alyssa has been wonderful! She walked my Lucie 🐶 for the past few weeks to keep her active while I’m gone to work. Lucie and I are very happy 😊 with her service. After each walk she cleaned her paws and make sure she had water and food available.”

“Caroline walked our dog while we were out of town. I didn’t get the chance to meet her in person but she was prompt and kind. This was our first experience using the rover app and I have complete confidence in using Caroline in the future! I feel much more at ease going out of town knowing that our energetic puppy is being cared for by a sweet girl like Caroline. Thank you so much for helping us out!!”

About: I have taken care of my family's large dogs all my life and volunteered at a local animal shelter for several years, walking, brushing and exercising dogs! I am comfortable with dogs of all shapes, sizes, and energy levels! I am a new graduate nurse, so spending time with animals and getting out of the house is exactly what the doctor ordered! My schedule is flexible, I am available most days that I am not working. I would be happy to walk leash-trained dogs or play with them in a fenced-in environment. I am also available for check-ins, feedings, or socializations for the animals!
About: I’ve had a medium sized dog for the past eight years. He has always been seen as “my dog,” even though he’s the household dog. I love to take him for walks everyday, car rides often, and play with/treat him! I’m a college junior home for the summer in Williamsburg, VA. I have a part time internship which only requires around 20 hours a week of me being out of the house, so my schedule is very flexible to take care of your babies! In my home specifically, I always ensure my dog is fed, comfortable, and taken care of. I treat my dog as though he has human feelings and speaks english, if you know what I mean. I walk him twice a day and take him for enriching activities often such as car rides. His health is my main priority.

“Jackie was amazing taking care of my Teddy. He took to her right away and she reassured me the whole week he was with her with status updates and pics. I highly recommend her!”

“I could not be more pleased with our boarding experience with Ryan & Stephanie! Bogey & Moose enjoyed staying in their home and getting lots of love and attention from their family. They sent 'pupdates' and pictures that allowed me to relax and not worry about them while we were away. My boys came home happy and exhausted from all the playtime they had on their large property. Ryan & Stephanie will be our first choice for boarding or daycare in the future!”

“Gus was a happy camper at Ciara’s home! Great communication and very accommodating. We really appreciate her care for Gus and would definitely use her again if we need dog care in the Williamsburg area.”

“Christene was great. She sent lots of pictures and videos in which I could hear positive words and tone. It was very reassuring knowing I chose the right people to entrust my baby with. Of course, Lily really enjoyed her stay and loved playing with the other dogs.”

“Pat and Kamie are always great and takes great care of Petey. He loves them and I never have to worry about him when he's with them. They are also very accommodating to his diet.”
