About: I've watched dogs and cats with all different personalities and needs (i.e. blind, diabetic, anxious, etc.). I believe in understanding a pet's needs from the perspective of the pet and responding with compassion. I work full time, but can usually work from home if needed. I will talk with you before we commit to pet sitting to ensure my schedule works for your needs (if that's getting off early, working from home every day during the time of the sitting, going home over lunch for a walk, etc). I have no fur babies (or kids) of my own, so your babies will get my undivided attention and I will shower them with all the love I wish I could give to my own fur baby if I had one. (Know I recognize that love looks different for different critters - for some it may mean keeping a respectful distance!)

When I arrived to drop off Obi, I could tell how much knowledge she had about dogs, especially ones that may be a bit nervous with new people (like my Obi). She made me feel so comfortable, talking to me about her typical schedule, when she sends pictures, that I can reach out whenever, and about what she was noticing in my dog’s behavior as he was warming up to the new environment. She has such a warm personality and attention to detail which set me at ease. She waited with me and Obi outside until he seemed comfortable, calm, and interested enough to enter her home. When I picked him up, Marah gave me a wonderful synopsis of my dog’s experience with her as well as some things she noticed about his behavior (for example, she noticed he wasn’t as territorial with food as I thought he may be or how friendly he was with new people). I could tell how tired and happy my pup was from running in her large fenced in backyard with the other cute dogs she was watching. He clearly loved his stay. We will definitely return to Marah in the future. I feel so lucky to have found her!!”

“Best dog sitter EVER!!! Rebecca started sending photos of LuLu within minutes of us dropping her off, and she continued sending pictures during the entire pet sit. We could see that LuLu was being well cared for and was getting loads of attention. I don't think Rebecca was able to get anything done for herself because she devoted so much time to LuLu! LuLu gets separation anxiety, but I don't have to worry about that now that I've found Rebecca. LuLu gets to have a vacation at Auntie Rebecca's place while we are having our vacation. We all have fun! Rebecca is responsible and attentive to every detail. She lives in a safe neighborhood and has a fully fenced yard. She never leaves LuLu unattended in the yard, and they spend hours outside every day. She spoiled her with attention, not food, which is important to me. I can't recommend Rebecca highly enough! During the “meet and greet” Penny had us come in and take him straight to the fenced back yard where he could sniff around and go to the bathroom. Knowing about his anxiety, once we went back inside, Penny never tried to pet him, she just allowed him to get used to her being in the room. She was a very calming presence for him. Evan likewise was patient with him and allowed him the time it took to settle and get comfortable. About: I’ve had and been around pets my whole life and have experience with animals of all sizes. I have house-sat, dog walked, and done routine checking on pets for multiple years for friends and family. I also volunteer at the animal shelter to help animals in need I’m currently working part time and only work a few days a week so I am available almost all the time to check in and help out with animals. My long shifts also contain breaks so I can interact with animals throughout the day even while working. I don’t typically stay overnight for house sitting because of the larger time commitment, but if that is something you are interested in I am able to add a small overnight fee to give your animals the care they need. About: My family adopted a 10 month old rescue pup, Charlie, when I was 7 years old. For the 12 years that I got to spend with him he was my best friend. Although he was stronger than me the first few years of his life, I was still involved in his training and feeding care until I was big enough to take him out and walk him. About: I’ve been taking care of dogs of all sorts of breeds since I was teen. My friends and family have relied on me to feed, take on walks, and their fury friends while they’re away. I have experience taking care of senior dogs as well as dogs with several different medical needs. I’ve dog sat one dog for a weekend and I’ve also dog sat 6 dogs for a week. Owning several dogs is nothing new to me. Currently working a full-time job from 8:30am - 5:30pm Monday - Friday. If you live in the Christiansburg/Blacksburg area I am able to do drop by visits during my lunch break. Saturday and Sunday I am pretty available. I’ll make sure your fury friend gets let out at appropriate times and have plenty of time to play around if it’s just a drop by visit. Have a dog with a medical condition? No problem I have experience with dogs who have epilepsy and who are allergic to everything under the sun. Senior dogs I understand the importance in being extra patient and gentle with them.

About: I have cared for pets of all ages over the years and adopted a pup of my own about two years ago. He’s up to date on all vaccinations and loves other dogs. I have experience with giving medications to animals, caring for both puppies and older pups, and my apartment is hardwood floors so accidents aren’t a problem! I am a graduate assistant and in grad school. This means that I word pretty weird hours and I do a lot of work remotely. I’m home anywhere between 8 hours to 24 hours a day and can rearrange my schedule depending on the needs of the animal. There is a dog park nearby and it’s a safe area. For my pup, and pups I’ve boarded/cared for before, I traditionally feed them in the AM and give them plenty of water. We go to the dog park to start the day and get the energy out. I make sure to leave dog-safe toys on the floor so they know they have stuff to play with and I dog proof the apartment before I leave each time so they don’t get into things they shouldn’t. We go out later in the day to the dog park again to socialize or get the zoomies going. We go back and have a little more food or a snack and then hang out before going out on a walk to end the day. I'm working full-time in ministry so I have lots of time throughout the day to care for your loved one and will be gone no more than a few hours per evening for bible studies and groups. I take my dog, Tonka, out 5-6 times per day minimum and we love to go on walks and be outdoors. I have a large field directly behind my apartment and live in a very pet-friendly area tucked off the main road so your pup will enjoy lots of safe and supervised outside time! I allow animals on the furniture and keep all choking hazards up high. My dog has a knack for finding even the smallest things to mess with so I have good practice with keeping a safe home.

I can’t say enough great things! She was amazingly helpful, communicative, and welcoming. When I arrived to drop off Obi, I could tell how much knowledge she had about dogs, especially ones that may be a bit nervous with new people (like my Obi). She made me feel so comfortable, talking to me about her typical schedule, when she sends pictures, that I can reach out whenever, and about what she was noticing in my dog’s behavior as he was warming up to the new environment. She has such a warm personality and attention to detail which set me at ease. She waited with me and Obi outside until he seemed comfortable, calm, and interested enough to enter her home. This spoke SO much about her patience and ability to care for the animals she sits. Throughout the time I was gone, I received multiple pictures of Obi each night which helped me to feel at ease and was almost immediate to respond when I reached out to check in. When I picked him up, Marah gave me a wonderful synopsis of my dog’s experience with her as well as some things she noticed about his behavior (for example, she noticed he wasn’t as territorial with food as I thought he may be or how friendly he was with new people). I could tell how tired and happy my pup was from running in her large fenced in backyard with the other cute dogs she was watching. He clearly loved his stay. We will definitely return to Marah in the future. I feel so lucky to have found her!!”

“I cannot say enough wonderful things about Penny and Evan. I had a last-minute, same-day request for someone to watch my two dogs, Bella and Milo. Bella has severe anxiety (just like her mama) and takes medication three times a day, so leaving her is never easy for me. When I came across Penny and Evan’s profile and saw their picture, I immediately felt at peace. I just knew these were the people I wanted caring for my babies. They accepted my request quickly, and within a few hours I was able to bring Bella and Milo to their home. From the moment we arrived, Penny was warm, kind, and incredibly welcoming. She immediately took us to the backyard so the dogs could sniff and explore. She thoughtfully explained their setup, including a separate area in case bigger dogs were present, which gave me even more confidence in their safety and comfort. Inside, she allowed Bella and Milo to explore freely and get comfortable. She carefully gathered all of my information, emergency contacts, medication instructions, and even provided her personal number. She made sure she had mine as well. That level of thoroughness meant so much to me. When I left, I truly had zero worries. That says everything. Even though I was only gone one night, I received multiple updates, pictures, and even a video. I could see my dogs were relaxed and felt safe — which is especially important for my anxious Bella girl. Seeing her calm brought me more relief than I can explain. When I picked them up, they greeted me with all the kisses I could possibly dream of. Milo even turned back as if he wanted to say goodbye to Penny, which told me everything I needed to know. They were content on the ride home — either completely relaxed or happily worn out from their wonderful adventure! Because of Bella’s anxiety, I have often avoided traveling or visiting family. We’ve tried multiple medications and behavioral treatments over the years. Finding Penny and Evan feels like such a blessing. They reassured me that my babies were happy and that they look forward to seeing them again — and I truly believe it. If you are looking for someone who will treat your pets like their own, communicate clearly, and give you complete peace of mind, look no further. Penny and Evan are absolute gems. We will absolutely be back.”
