Denver is almost 14 and so giving him the love and attention he’d get as the only dog in the home was really important to us, and not having to worry about him getting stressed out by younger dogs who constantly wanted to play for 6 days. We couldn’t have been happier. Denver was right at home, getting walks that he loves as well as plenty of chill time and attention from Jesse and Emily as well as their two girls. Jesse and Emily were great about sending us photo updates that let us know that Denver was comfy and happy. Denver is a finicky eater especially when not at home and they were great about paying attention and giving some treats here and there to get his appetite going. We would definitely leave Denver with them again!”

On top of that, they sent lots of pictures and were so kind to Eddie. He didn't want to leave!”

About: I've been a caretaker to many animals great and small from horses and alpacas to cats and rats. Any animal is welcome in my care. I truly want the best for every sweet soul and a key to that is regular exercise and freedom. I am currently working part-time at a horse farm and am looking for more animal time in between my shifts any day of the week. I have 2 short shifts, one in the morning that ends around 9:30 and another shift at 4 that is also quite short. There is a great chunk of time to fill. My pup and I have an abundance of toys and a little dog park only 5 minutes away! We have a quarter mile walk that I loop with my dog on the daily and he loves his time outside smelling and exploring around our community.

About: I’ve had a dog my entire life except for a few very lonely months in 2020 after I lost the love of my life, Romey, the naughtiest lab with the best sense of humor. I grew up with labs (mostly ) but now have Gizmo, a labrodoodle , who will soon become BDE (best dog ever) if he can finally learn how to not jump like a kangaroo when he sees his dog friends. About: I’ve owned both dogs and cats and have cared for several family members’ pets for over 20 years! I’m a huge animal lover and miss having one of my own. I’m a stay-at-home-mom of 3 kids so I have plenty of time to walk and play! My schedule is extremely flexible and I’m available on weekends. I have an unfenced yard and live 20 feet from the Crozet trail system, right next to Claudius Crozet Park. We don’t have any pets of our own but my three kids (ages 4, 5 & 6) are very active and will play all day with your pet. If your booking request ends up being a time that he will be staying with me, then he enjoys participating in meet in greets to ensure everyone is a great fit :) we have yet to meet a dog we didn’t like! About: New to Rover, but not to pet care :) I grew up with animals great and small. I've had dogs of all sizes, cats, horses, snakes, mice, chickens, and one skunk. All of my dogs are rescues, so I'm no stranger to reactive dog care and I'm well-versed in positive reinforcement training styles. I love all animals, but I've got a real soft spot for the senior babies. I recently lost my own 16 year old pittie, so I'm comfy in a space that may require a little extra effort. I'm a weightlifter in my free time, so I can easily help any size senior with any mobility issues 💜 I'm starting on Rover after losing my 13 year career in analysis to federal funding issues. My schedule is quite flexible and free, though I do have to be home at night to care for my own four-legged family members While I'd love to offer care in my home, I do have my own pets and introducing new babies to the mix can be stressful for all involved. In your home, I will love on your fur babies as if they were my own. They'll have a cuddle buddy (if they choose), engaging playtime, and treats (if you choose). I also spend quite a lot of time at the gym I own in downtown Charlottesville, so if you'd be comfortable with field trips, I'd happily take them out for some extra socialization.

About: Hi there! I am a bunny lover of 3 years now and I recently graduated college, so I have a lot more time now to care for more pups. I’ve always loved fur babies, but unfortunately couldn’t get one bigger than my Shego. I am hoping to build fun and loving relationships with some fur babies! I currently work the evening shift during the week. With this schedule I am available Monday-Friday before 1pm and all day on Saturday and Sunday! We couldn’t have been happier. Denver was right at home, getting walks that he loves as well as plenty of chill time and attention from Jesse and Emily as well as their two girls. Jesse and Emily were great about sending us photo updates that let us know that Denver was comfy and happy. Denver is a finicky eater especially when not at home and they were great about paying attention and giving some treats here and there to get his appetite going. We would definitely leave Denver with them again!”

I am always concerned about Eddie escaping to chase an animal, and they took my concerns seriously and took steps to ensure that wouldn't happen. Their fence setup was great too - the fenced-in yard wraps all the way around the house, so even if a dog slipped out of the house, they would still be in the yard. On top of that, they sent lots of pictures and were so kind to Eddie. He didn't want to leave!”
