“I was scrambling to find dog boarding when my friend canceled on me at the last minute. I had no backup plan and actually thought I’d have to send my dog to a kennel for the week. Luckily, as I was looking up kennels, I found information on Rover. So this was my very first time using Rover and I was extremely nervous. Turns out, there was absolutely no reason for me to be. Rover is very easy to use and I was able to find Julie & Kenneth N’s information. After seeing/reading the positive reviews I made immediate plans to meet them and have them meet my Husky, Max. When Julie & Ken arrived, they were very friendly, easy to talk to and most importantly, they love dogs. I was able to book Max to stay with Julie & Ken for the entire week that we were on a family vacation. As promised, I got daily emails (with pictures) of how Max was doing and Julie even let me know how helpful Max was in the kitchen — by being watchful to ensure Julie didn’t drop anything while preparing lunch. I loved all of the text communications I received — Max was smiling in some of the pics. That put me at ease too. If you want top notch boarding for your dog, then I highly recommend this dog-loving duo. Your dog will be well taken care of and will be happy with Julie & Ken. In the future, whenever we need dog boarding, Julie & Ken will be my very first choice. I am sincerely grateful to them for their excellent care of Max.”

“Tameka was fantastic. She kept me abreast of what was going on with Justice and sent plenty of pictures for me to enjoy. I'll definitely be a return customer the next time I have to leave the state.”

“Cristen and family were amazing! Wish we had found them before. They took very good care of Asher while we were at our daughter’s graduation. We didn’t have to worry about Asher at all. Wonderful family!”

“Jakorey took excellent care of my dog when I went out of town. He sent me several pictures of him, walked him and played with him. I would take my dog to Jakorey again. Thank you.”

“Alexis was the best! We are transitioning from Boston Massachusetts to Hampton roads, and at the last minute I needed a sitter for 2 of my golden doodle boys, to move my remaining items to VA, and Alexis quickly responded and agree to Take my boyz. She took pictures and messaged me daily about much fun they were having. We definitely will utilize Alexis again! We found a sitter here in Hampton Roads! Yay!!”

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. I have spent the last 3 years volunteering with Hope for Life Rescue and Penninsula Regional Animal Shelter, working hands on with pets of all ages, breeds, and temperaments, from bottle feeding kittens and puppies to caring for senior dogs who need extra patience and attention. I’m the go-to person for family and friends whenever they need someone reliable and loving to care for their pets, whether it’s daily walks, drop-in visits, daycare, or overnight boarding. I have experience administering medications, handling nervous or shy animals, and making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for like family. I understand that trusting someone with your pet is a big deal, and I treat every animal as if they were my own, with patience, compassion, and plenty of love. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because animals are already a big part of my life. I volunteer regularly with a local rescue and animal shelter, foster when needed, and I also run my own business from home, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of availability for walks, drop-ins, daycare, and boarding. I provide a safe, loving, and structured environment whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home. I have a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time and exercise, and my own pets (two cats and one dog) are all friendly, well socialized, and up to date on their vaccines. My dog, Mercury, just turned two and is full of energy. She loves meeting other dogs and enjoys playdates, which makes her a great companion for social pups who enjoy interaction and play. My goal is always to create a calm, trustworthy environment where both pets and pet parents feel comfortable and confident.
“I’m so glad I found Shanae, I was at ease while I was away. I loved the pics and videos she sent daily. I felt like my Frankie preferred being in a home environment where he can get 1:1 attention versus a boarding facility with dozens of other dogs.”

“Kacie was amazing!! She took such great care of our fur baby. She was great from the meet and greet up until we picked our dog up after a long weekend. Wonderful communication, flexible with scheduling changes and sent us pictures every day! We will definitely ask for her next time we go out of town!”

“Brandy is amazing! I had a last minute trip and she was very understanding and took churro right away! She is really careful and caring with my dog and is always sending updates on how he is doing. She is truly the best!”

“Emily is the best! She is so kind and caring. My dog is very loved while in her presence and i can tell she has the genuine heart for animals! highly recommend! 10/10!”

“Constance is a really special person. Great communicator, kind and open. She was open to do a meet and greet before Teddys actual staycation and allowed us to see her home and meet her pets to make sure everyone gets along. Once we dropped Teddy off she sent pictures every day! Communicated very clearly and kept me informed of Teddys well being. She was accommodating when we had little curve balls thrown at us and we have absolutely no complaints at all. Your fur babies will be in good hands with Constance! We will be booking again for our next vacation.”

“Tavonne was excellent!!! I truly like the fact that she sent me frequent pics and updates on Milo!! I will definitely be using her for all of my boarding needs.”

“Jessica was nothing but amazing this stay! We’ve stayed with her twice before and Rippley loved her. She’s very flexible with your plans and makes sure to make your puppy feel at home, plus her kiddos make excellent sitters too!”

“Jackie was awesome!! This is the second time we left our babies with her. The babies were taken care of very well and enjoyed themselves while in her care. Jackie kept us up to date on how the babies were doing and sent several pictures that put us at ease and let us enjoy ourselves knowing that they were having a good time. Would definitely highly recommend Jackie, and we will definitely hire her again.”

“Maeghan was amazing with Frida (our baby) her whole family took wonderful care of her for four days. She played and had a wonderful time. We will definitely be asking for Maeghan services again! Thanks so very much!”

“This was my very first time booking on Rover and it was great! Richard is awesome, he kept me updated with pictures throughout the day. I was a bit nervous being that he was going to be keeping my pup overnight but he made me feel so comfortable and reassured me that she was in good hands, & she sure was! I am definitely booking again I loved how when I came to pick my pup up him and his grandmother came out to greet me was the sweetest thing! My pup Aya enjoyed them as much as they did her♥️”

“Dea cared for our 2 cats for nearly 20 days while our family traveled. We received daily updates that reassured us they were shown attention and love. One of our cats has a medical condition that requires extra help. Dea confidently took care of her needs and we picked her up in perfect health. Thank you Dea for looking after our precious cats like we would. We are happy to have a sitter to use in the future that we can trust.”

“Angela was an absolute trooper and amazing pet sitter!!! Turns out my husband and I both deadbolted all our doors….so Angela couldn’t get in to the house. She was so calm and worked with one of our friends to get in the house, I literally can’t thank her enough for not giving up! After all that mess, she took the time to always bring our packages in, vacuum up after my cat (she’s a messy eater) , give her treats! And on the last day she vacuumed my entire first floor which was so sweet! Thank you Angela!!!”
“Sayaka did a wonderful job caring for our elderly cat for two weeks. The photo check ins were great! We were in a jam at the last minute before a big trip and Sara was incredibly flexible. Thank you Sara! 🤍”

“Michelle was great! She was so good with our two cats, monitored their food and water, cleaned the litter box, and provided detailed updates for us. It is clear she really cared for our cats and we would highly recommend her!”

“For us, it was the first time leaving our kitties for two weeks with a pet sitter. We needed to find a person that inspired trust and that our kittens we not afraid of during the first contact. We found that and much more with Maecen. When she came to meet our family, my kitties acted as if she was one of us. They let her pet them and rubbed against her legs, GREAT SIGN. Then, during our trip, we loved seeing all the pictures and visit summaries she sent us. But most importantly, we noticed how well cared for our pets were every time she came to see them. Maecen is sweet, kind and great at doing all the chores she completed. She was also amazing with play time and providing a safe environment for them. Thank you Maecen from the bottom of our hearts, and we will be booking more of your time for every vacation we take. Lola and Tomas will be delighted to have you 🤩☺️”

“Felicitas is amazing! This is our second time booking with her and she’s been so incredible, consistent, and kind to our two kitties. The notes she leaves are so detailed and help us feel better about leaving for extended times. Communication is so easy and she responds within minutes! We will absolutely be rebooking with her whenever we’re out of town!”

“Stephanie cat sit for our 3 days and we were very happy with her services. She was reliable and sent great updates of the cats while we were gone. It made the trip so much easier knowing the cats were comfortable and happy with her while we were gone. Will definitely be rebooking in the future!”

About: Hi! I've worked with a lot of different sizes and breeds, as well as different temperaments when it comes to dogs and cats. I can also administer medications and take care of exotic fish or other animals if needed. A little bit about me: I am a very calm, patient, and dependable person with 5 lovely dogs between my husband and I( I had 3 and he had 2 when we met!). I’m a former RN currently at home while finishing up my Doctorate. I would love to get back in to walking, drop-in visits, and recently decided to try out out doggy daycare. We have a nice big backyard! I am open to learning and providing your pup with any accommodations that they may need during my visits and/or their stay. I understand how important it is to make sure they feel safe and loved. Feel free to ask any questions. I look forward to working with you! *I do have a toddler at home most days, so it is important that your dog is friendly with children when considering doggy day care. She will not join me for drop on visits or walks! I do my best to provide service at the times requested. I am very dependable, however I may suggest an alternate time if there is a conflict. I will make it work! I am very organized and respectful when making a visit to a pet parents home. I also make sure doors are locked and light are off when I leave.

“I cannot say enough about Dawn. She is very kind. I have an active Australian shepherd/ lab mix and needed some help for several days while dealing with family issue out of home. About: I have been caring for dogs since 2011 and have owned a variety of breeds, including Yorkies, Beagles, and German Shepherds. My dogs have always been beloved family members who lived long, happy lives. I understand the importance of dependable, loving care and will treat your pet with the same attention, patience, and affection I give my own. I work from home, which allows me to provide frequent attention, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. Because I am home most of the time, pets in my care receive plenty of supervision, affection, and a consistent routine. I know every pet has their own routine, so I take the time to learn what makes them comfortable. Whether that means sticking to a specific feeding schedule, going for extra walks, playing fetch, or just relaxing on the couch, I try to keep their day as normal as possible. I work from home and have a fully fenced yard, which allows for plenty of supervised outdoor time, exercise, and play throughout the day. I also keep owners updated with photos and messages so they can feel confident their pet is happy, safe, and well cared for.
“Elisabeth was great with my Goldendoodle. We were racing at the dragstrip, had our dog with us &wanted to go have some fun on Fremont street. Elisabeth met us & dog sitted for us. Dixie felt very comfortable going with her & was happy when we met to pick her up! I would definitely have her watch our girl again! Highly recommend!”

About: If you are a regular, please contact me directly as I am booked daily frequently but I will make wiggle room for my familiar friends. I am now accepting bookings for summer & autumn 2026. Except for cats - My adult daughter is my regular backup if needed and she usually covers cats visits because they loooove her. *** BONDED/INSURED and I guarantee my behavior in your home!!! Please check with any of my other clients. I love being video taped!!! Your home is just as safe as your pets! I’ve been the go-to girl for pet care in my extended family, friends, neighbors and even within my church for decades. I’ve helped puppies being born and taken care of seniors who needed medication. I work from home and set hours as you need me. I'm available on short notice if I know you. Otherwise, I prefer a meet and greet with new customers. Details are important for all of us. For Drop-In Visits, what is comfortable for your animal is what I do. We can do playtime or just feed/water/love. Puppies can use me for mountain climbing and senior dogs find me a restful friend. I work with cats as well as dogs and am not afraid of keeping a litterbox clean. Also, if you have any tentative travel plans for 2026; please let me know as soon as possible. I hate turning people down but I already have week long overnight bookings scheduled every month into thru May. I would be glad to block out dates while you firm up your plans, if needed. My work zone is limited - I try to only take jobs within a ***3 MILE radius of CEDAR LANE*** - so I can focus on each pet instead of driving all over the place. If you ask any of my regulars, you will find I can (and have been) called in on an emergency with no hesitation. I only take 1 drop-in on days I have my regular or 3 drop ins on my ‘free’ days. Sittings are a case by case basis but if your pet will work with me, I would love to work with them. I will book as far as 12 MONTHS in advance if you need me. I work my schedule around your pets. Any questions, I will be glad to answer. For clarification - Drop-ins are scheduled between 9 am and 8pm. My phone only works during these hours unless I am sitting your pet. House/Pet sittings can be during the day or an overnight stay. Usually, Day shift is 9am to 5 pm but I am willing to work with you as your schedule requires. Walks and sittings are different things. But I will gladly work with you if you give me advance notice. Overnight stays are usually 8-10pm as needed to 8am. Please ask if you need a different schedule during reservation. If I know in advance, I’m glad to work with you and your pet(s). Hope this helps, I’ve gotten a lot of questions lately. 😉 I am so sorry my rates have gone up but gas and insurance is killing me as an independent contractor. I am willing to give discounts on multi day visits or long stays if you work with me. Thank you! 😊 This is my job and I love it. Meeting and spending time with new animals is a joy. I'm building my business through word of mouth so you have all my attention. Let me be of help. I answer text/calls between 9am and 11pm unless I am driving, working with someone, or out of town. My catch up day is Monday so if I do not have furry friends to visit and if I'm slow to answer, it’s because I'm covered in my dogs and cannot move. (They are little but insistent.) or running my many errands. I WILL respond to every request even if you are not in my zone. But I cannot respond while working or at church. You and your furry family are important to me, please let me prove it. I'm always willing to do drop ins and dog sitting. I love doing house sitting stays as it lets your pet be comfortable in his/her own space and keep to their schedule. I will follow your rules meticulously! Please feel free to contact anyone I have worked with, I'm very proud of the reviews I've been given. I will work with you and your pet to get the same happy review. I limit my work area so I spend more time with your pet and not traveling. Overnight covers a 10-12 hour period such as 8 pm to 8am.
“Ive used Brandys daycare services for Loki 2 days a week for about 5 weeks now. She is very attentive, loves dogs, and caring towards him. He gets so excited to see her and looks so comfortable around her family. She gives physical daily report cards with the potty schedule, behavior, feedings, comments and recommendations. She sends photos throughout the day. Her family enjoys having him around and I love seeing him play with her children. I had a family emergency one weekend and she had no problem keeping him for me until I got back in town. That was super huge because she does have a family, it was last minute, and a big ask. Definitely would recommend her services.”

“We had a wonderful experience meeting Dawn. She was warm, professional, and very thoughtful in how she approached getting to know our dog, Mr. Thor. She took the time to assess whether it would be the right fit and was honest and communicative throughout the process, which we truly appreciated. It’s clear that she cares deeply about making sure each dog and family is matched appropriately. That level of integrity and professionalism says a lot. We’re grateful for her time and would absolutely recommend her to other pet parents.”

Whether it’s feeding, walking, training, or just giving them the love they need, I treat every animal like they’re my own. Friends, family, and neighbors have always trusted me to look after their pets, and it brings me so much joy to keep them happy, safe, and healthy! Ive been a stay at home mom for about 6 years now so I have plenty of time! I’m available for drop-ins, daycare for the day, boarding, and cuddles on weekends and weekdays. Whether your fur baby needs mid-day playtime or dinner served with a side of affection, I’ve got it covered! Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priority. I have a fully fenced yard for secure outdoor play, a friendly and well-behaved dog who enjoys having company. If your pet prefers their own space, I’m happy to separate or crate as needed. I provide a calm, clean, and loving home where every animal is treated like family — whether they’re here for a quick visit or an extended stay.
About: I've been dog sitting/walking for over 15 years to many different size dogs of many different ages. I worked at pet stores and as a vet tech for many years. I have volunteered at Zoos and Animal Rehabilitation centers. I love and can take care of many different animals! I currently have 2 dogs, a cat, a snake, a tarantula, and fish tanks; but I’ve had & cared for many other kinds of animals before (lizards, birds, tortoises, etc). I am very detail oriented, and animals always come first in my life. I just moved here from Florida and have no other job obligations currently. I have my own pets but have a partner to take care of our babies while I focus on yours. I don't bring animals to my personal home but always have the utmost respect for other's homes. I make sure to follow the house rules for the animals and never leave a mess.
About: I used to have another rover account and dog watching was my full time job for about 3 years. I quit for a little bit but now I am a stay at home mom and have a 4 1/2 year old golden who loves everyone and just wants some friends to play with. I am a stay at home mom and have a dog of my own so adding a few more never hurts. My golden daisy is my child she is so spoiled and if you trust me with your dog they will be too. She is full of energy and loves all dogs and people haha. She does not know what stranger danger is. I have a huge fenced in back yard. I am also able to split up my house to have dogs in separate areas when they need a break from each other. This will be my full time job aside from being a mom so I am always home.

About: What sets me apart is my patience, reliability, and genuine love for animals. I take the time to learn each pet’s personality, routine, and needs so they feel safe and comfortable while their owner is away. I have experience caring for a variety of animals and understand the importance of maintaining feeding schedules, exercise, playtime, and a clean environment. I’m also attentive with shy pets, energetic puppies, and senior animals who may need extra patience and gentle care. My goal is to provide dependable care so both pets and their owners feel completely at ease. Caring for animals fits well into my daily routine because I enjoy being active and spending time with pets. I make sure my schedule allows time for feeding, walks, playtime, and check-ins so pets stay on their normal routine. I focus on giving them attention, exercise, and a safe environment so they feel relaxed and cared for while their owners are away. When caring for pets, I prioritize their routine, safety, and comfort. I follow the owner’s instructions closely for feeding, exercise, medication, and any special care they may need. I make sure pets receive plenty of attention, playtime, and regular check-ins. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I keep their environment clean and calm so they can stay comfortable in a familiar space. My goal is to provide consistent, loving care that keeps pets happy and owners worry free.
“Joselyn was amazing with my dog. She was patient, thorough, caring, and loving. She took the time to come meet with him prior to having to care for him. Yogi loved her immediately. I would trust Joselyn with my boy again, any day! Thank you for taking care of my boy.”

About: My name is Tas. I have worked at a day practice for about 10 years as a kennel assistant/a vet assistant (giving meds, baths, insulin). I have background in emergency vet clinics as well as day practice. I have a total of 5 pets. 4 dogs ( 2 pits, chihuahua and 1 GSP mix) and a cat. I have background in just about every pet from reptiles to exotics (sugar gliders included). If you have questions about which animals I can watch or would be comfortable watching let me know. When no one is home I do keep my animals crated because I've seen WAY too much in emergency and day practice for me to be comfortable letting your pet be out by themselves with no supervision. I do not require a meet and greet unless your animal has issues with strangers or I'm house sitting. I HAVE A PRIVACY FENCED IN BACKYARD :) all animals must be on a RELIABLE flea prevention and I need that proof before they come in my house.

“Cristen and family were amazing! Wish we had found them before. They took very good care of Asher while we were at our daughter’s graduation. We didn’t have to worry about Asher at all. Wonderful family!”

“This was my dog’s first time staying with Krystal and it’s safe to say he enjoyed himself. He gets along great with other dogs so the fact that she has dogs of her own was good. He was energetic and happy when I picked him up. I will definitely use Krystal again for my dog sitting needs in the future!”
“Awesome and Pleasant Military orientated Couple!!! My sweat Venus greated me very cheerfully when I picked her up! These couple are very involved and cared for my furry baby as their Owen. Was updated with pictures in the morning and evenings plus videos daily. Daily they would have a to two miles of hiking. Katherine would update me with their daily significant adventure like I was reading a story book and help me to stay closer when I’m at a distance. A peaceful and safe wide open neighborhood! Highly trust my girl with them in the near future in my future TAD.”

“Brandy is amazing! I had a last minute trip and she was very understanding and took churro right away! She is really careful and caring with my dog and is always sending updates on how he is doing. She is truly the best!”

“Amy was amazing! We were a little nervous about leaving our dog with someone we didn't know. Amy immediately put us at ease and made us feel like our pup was the most important dog on the planet. She is extremely professional and answered all my texts quickly. She provided photos and updated us with how things were going daily. After meeting her we knew she would care for our dog like she was one of her own. She was extremely flexible at changing the dates of stay when I'd accidentally clicked the wrong days. Even though they were very last minute. Her compassion for animals is truly genuine as evidenced by the model she's set for her children. They, too, took to our dog and treated her like a real princess. We couldn't have asked for a better sitter for our pupper.”

“Emily is the best! She is so kind and caring. My dog is very loved while in her presence and i can tell she has the genuine heart for animals! highly recommend! 10/10!”
