“Our 9-year old mixed pug-shih szu female received the best care from Tamara during a recent long weekend trip. Tamara kept us updated on Diamond, with photos and even a funny video. We could tell Diamond had a great experience, too.”

“Maki and Joel and their family took great care of Ragnar. They treated him as part of the family and that really made me feel comfortable. I can’t thank and recommend them enough!”

“Kristen is an awesome sitter for our 14 month Irish Wolfhound and 3 yr old Lab/Pit mix. She is so caring and gentle with both our dogs. Plenty of run space, perfect for both.”

“Rover had a great time with his new found friend Butcher. Tara was great at sending daily updates and being accommodating when our flight got delayed. She has a very big fenced backyard for the dogs to play. Rover will be back whenever we are out of town again. Thanks!”

“Chanel was a guest with Min & Matt for a week! I got daily updates on her progress! She got lots of attention and great care! They treated her like family! She was spoiled rotten! I am so thankful I found these wonderful, kind, and caring couple! They are true animal lovers PLUS Min is a great photographer! She captured so many fantastic pictures of Chanel, I will be making reprints for my home! I am truly blessed to have found these folks I did not worry about Chanel the entire week I was gone!!’ I will use them again and again!💕💕💕”

“It makes me nervous to be so far away from my fur family but Kelly took exceptional care of the boys and sent updates everyday. It was clear they were as comfortable with their visit as I was. Thank you Kelly!”

“Chris was excellent! He took such good care of my dog, I doubt she actually wanted to come back home with me. He followed her care instructions to the T, provided updates multiple times a day, took her out to do many activities and shared lots of pictures. I can't recommend Chris enough!”

“We’re so grateful for the love and care our pups received. It meant everything knowing they were not just safe, but truly happy while we were away. The sweetest part was how much our doggies adored her kids you could tell they were having the best time together. We came home to a couple of relaxed, happy dogs, and that says it all. They will be going back forever now!”

“Laura was so great with Teddy! He loved playing with Gin!!! You can tell she really cares, and we felt totally comfortable leaving him with her. Selfishly, I almost don’t want to tell people how awesome she is 😉 We’d definitely book with her again if she’ll have him!”

“Tetiana was great! Everything from reservation to drop off and pick up was smooth. She payed attention to my instructions and took a great care of my dog. I really appreciate daily updates with photos.”

“Walter and his family were great hosts and caretakers for our dog. They made us feel super comfortable by sending updates and pictures while we were away. We have already asked them to take care of our dog again because of the wonderful care they provided!”

“Our Newfoundland was expertly taken care of. She was happy when we came back, but I think a little sad to leave all her new friends. Would definitely recommend and use again, she is great with the large breeds and has a great understanding of their behavior.”

“We recently moved to NOVA from Midlothian and had to find a new Rover Ally to watch our 2 sweet Goldens- We used someone who lived in the same town and it did not go well at all so we were very nervous about leaving them again with anyone else. I can hands down say this was one of our best Rover experiences ever!! Joel and Janelle have a beautiful place with a large grassy fenced yard! They sent periodic incredible “action” pictures and our Goldens did not seemed stressed at all when we picked them up. We are looking forward to our stay with them early next month.”

About: I have cared for cats for over 30 years including feeding, cleaning litter boxes, playing, snuggling and being the happy recipient of much biscuit making over the years. I lost my 17-year old soul kitty a few years ago. She had many health problems her last few years during which time I administered oral medications and subcutaneous fluids. I've also volunteered at a local animal shelter as a kitty snuggler in the regular cattery and the FIV cattery. I would love to meet your cat(s) and see if I can be of service.

“Ashley was amazing. She actually cares about what she is doing and goes far beyond my expectations. I would definitely recommend her if I need any services in the future.”

“We are so happy to have Nicole watching our kitty while we’re away! She’s kind, responsible and always sends me the best reports! Our cat is a bit shy so she always hides when Nicole comes in, but we are sure she appreciates Nicole’s care a lot!”

“We had such a great experience with Sarah taking care of our dog, Duke! From the start, she was responsive, professional, and clearly very experienced with dogs. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing Duke was in such good hands. She kept us updated with regular messages and photos, which we really appreciated, and it was clear Duke was happy, comfortable, and well cared for the entire time. When we got home, he was relaxed and his usual self, which says everything. We would absolutely book with Sarah again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive sitter. Thank you again for taking such great care of Duke!”

“Erin did a wonderful job taking care of our cat, Mia! Erin is very sweet and Mia liked her a lot (which says something!) Would definitely recommend Erin for anyone needing pet sitting.”

About: I’ve had cats my entire life and am very comfortable caring for them at every stage. I have experience pet sitting cats independently, including maintaining routines, monitoring behavior, and administering medication when needed. I understand cat body language and the importance of patience, consistency, and low stress care.
“Joanne took such great care of my cat, Frankie, and my home. Frankie can be a little skittish and she warmed up to her very fast, she’s the cat whisperer! I received lots of photos and videos with regular updates. Will definitely use her again and highly recommend her!”

“As any viewer of Caroline W.'s reviews will see, I'm truly pleased to report she is as fantastic as they read. I could write paragraphs, but I'll highlight what really underscores her excellence. 1. Diligent and Prompt -- Caroline had reached out to me prior to our meet-and-greet and the final key pick-up and drop-offs to check-in and confirm times : this was prior to me doing so and reaching out to her. I had even expressed how this was really a pleasant surprise, and that it spoke volumes of her attention to detail; conversely, her promptness made *me feel like I was just the opposite and not paying close attention! That hasn't happened often in past experiences with many services, so Caroline really made sure we were aligned with appointments for key checkpoints in our set-up and return processes. In addition to her diligence, her promptness was actually mind-boggling. My wife and I were away on vacation, and it was no less than perfect clockwork where I'd see her check-ins literally *on the dot* for the times in the mornings and late afternoons for her visits, dead on the hour: we're not talking 2, 3, 4 minutes late, but perfection nearly every single time, with maybe one starting a *minute after the agreed time? It's ridiculous I'm even writing that last point, but to show how rigorous her punctuality is, it bears mention that Caroline was *this precise to showing up on time, every time, and 100% of the time gave her full allotted visit, with some an extra couple of minutes. Incredibly impressive. 2. Wonderful interactions with our cat -- we were able to see through our home's Ring system Caroline greeting our cat for every visit, especially as the days of our vacation wore on. The fact that Caroline would greet our cat with a clear and welcoming tone and message fit precisely how my wife and I interact with her (our cat), and just hearing the conversations between Caroline and our cat was very comforting: no doubt this "fitting into our patterns" helped with our cat's loneliness and coping with our absence, and that included spending focused time giving her simple company. Fantastic job! And lastly, 3. Being amenable to modifications and a couple of simple related tasks: Caroline was able to care for our "cat grass" and keep it thriving while we were gone, lavishing feedings to our cat when desired (most every visit); she also was able to follow our instructions by text message on how to use our "treat puzzle", since our cat was insistent on "playing it", and I know doing this gave a lot of comfort (and more treats) to our cat, and made my wife and I feel truly glad that Caroline was able to add this adjustment and make our cat feel like things were still as normal as they could be in our absence. With that, I give Caroline my highest recommendation, and can't express enough the value in having her as a drop-in sitter for our cat.”

About: I have a deep passion for animals and a keen eye for understanding their non-verbal cues. By focusing on the small details and reading their body language, I ensure your pet feels comfortable, secure, and stress-free. Im a stay at home mom. I take my aon to school at 7:20, i would be available directly after that until 1:30 or 2 depending on where you live. Then Im available from 3-7. Every morning I feel my dogs and then walk them around our property. Then, I feed the kitty who is usually meowing loudly at me. Then, I scoop her box. She likes it if I scoop her box several times a day. The dogs are fed twice a day, and walked several times. My Dad or I will walk our younger dog Molly around the neighborhood or on the Appalachian trail. Dinner for the dogs is at 7pm and "last pee" is before bedtime (usually 10).
“Barbara was polite, thoughtful, and kind. She texted to let us know how he was doing about halfway through the appointment, and she shared a cute picture. I would definitely book with her again and certainly recommend her!”

About: I grew up with 2 Labrador retrievers, who I grew a special bond with where I grew to love taking care of dogs! I now have a 3 year old German Shepherd pure bred, who I raised and helped to train. I just adopted a Hound, who is a 2 year old rescue. I love walking my dogs everyday, and also driving them to parks as well. I feed my dogs everyday, and have always been known to be taking care of dogs my whole life. I am 21 years old, and a student at East Carolina University. I come home very often, especially during breaks, and live here all summer! My pets are apart of my everyday life, and I am willing to take care and spend valuable time with pets whenever needed and necessary for you! I am willing to do just about anything with your pets, such as spending time playing with them, walking them, going to a park, feeding them, making sure they go to bed safe, whatever fits you and your pets needs!
“Erin took great care of my dog Rosie! Erin has watched my dog at her home and done a check in at my house. Both visits went perfectly. Rosie gets super excited when she sees Erin and I love the photos she sends. I would highly recommend Erin!”

“Maki is so kind, she agreed to watch Gin on late notice. Gin definitely had fun and Maki’s! Maki was great at communicating and sending pics of Gin throughout the day! Definitely recommend!”

About: Hi! I’m a work-from-home mom of three amazing boys, and caring for animals has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up on a farm, so being around animals wasn’t just a hobby — it was a way of life. I’ve owned pets my entire life and have also fostered many dogs over the years, so my boys have grown up learning how to properly handle, respect, and love animals. We recently lost our sweet dog last year and are taking a little break from owning one, but our home feels happiest with paws around. Dog sitting allows us to share that love while giving your pup the attention and care they deserve. Because I work from home full time, your dog will rarely be alone and will get plenty of supervision, affection, and companionship throughout the day. We have a large single-family home with lots of space to relax. There’s a large fenced backyard for safe outdoor time, as well as a spacious front yard — but please know your dog will never be outside unsupervised. In our home, dogs are family. They’re welcome on the couch and even in the bed for snuggles at night if that’s what they’re used to. My boys love giving extra attention, playtime, and belly rubs — always guided by what your dog is comfortable with. Our family truly adores and respects animals, and we will care for your dog as if they were our own — with patience, structure, affection, and lots of love. I’d love to meet you and your pup! Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine since I work from home full time. I’m home throughout the day, which allows me to provide consistent supervision, companionship, and regular potty breaks as often as needed. Your dog won’t be left alone for long stretches. We go on at least one walk every day, and I’m happy to adjust the length or pace depending on your dog’s age and energy level. In addition to walks, I incorporate outdoor time, playtime, and plenty of affection into the day. Because I’m already on a steady home schedule, it’s easy for me to maintain feeding times, medication schedules, and any specific routines your dog is used to. When pets stay in my home, they become part of our daily routine and are treated like family. Because I work from home full time, I’m able to provide constant supervision, regular potty breaks, and lots of attention throughout the day. Dogs have access to our large fenced backyard (always supervised) and enjoy at least one daily walk, along with playtime and snuggles. They’re welcome on the couch and even in bed if that’s what they’re used to. I stick closely to each dog’s normal feeding schedule, exercise routine, and any special instructions to help them feel comfortable and secure. My goal is always the same: to provide safe, loving, reliable care so both you and your pet feel completely at ease.

About: For years, I've walked the fields and trails along the Potomac River with a furry companion - most recently with Flannery, my family's Great Pyrenees who loved romping in Virginia Bluebell flowers and sinking her paws into mud. Animals have always been a part of my life. I've mucked stalls, herded ewes and lambs, evaded headbutting rams, cuddled pigs, milked goats, trimmed hooves, and named a farm dynasty of cats and kittens names like "Nefertiti" and "Isosceles" (after Egyptian royalty and geometry terms). Animals and their personalities are a source of endless interest for me. “If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans.” ~James Herriot I have a flexible work schedule at home and welcome an excuse to enjoy fresh air and exercise together with your pet. I'm available for daycare and dog-walking every day except for Sunday mornings. Your dog can stay indoor in my apartment or outdoor in the fenced-in yard, as needed. I live in a quiet neighborhood, perfect for walking. If additional space is needed for running and walking in the open countryside, I am also happy to take your dog on a "field trip" to my family's little farm.
“Abby and her husband were great hosts! Awesome communication and everything was made easy and smooth for a last minute request. Their dogs Maple Syrup and Moose were such good puppy hosts and played well with our dog. We received plentiful videos and pictures of the fun!”

About: Through my own dog owning I’ve learned how to keep the peace between many animals. My family loves to bring all our dogs together so my home facilitates pet care. I care for my pets daily and your pet will join our routine and receive care through their entire stay. Interactive activities provided. Sun-Thr available. Fri-Sun case by case basis. I have three dogs, one elderly small dog and two energetic very friendly medium sized dogs. The small one is kept separate and has scheduled potty times. The two others roam free and have scheduled feeding times and activities that your pet can join! My home has a doggy door so outside will be accessible at all times, I have a fenced in yard. If not potty trained, pet will follow my elderly dogs potty routine. Reactive dogs will be kept separate. Please inform of all your pets needs and habits.

About: Hi, I’m Tess! I live in Charles Town, WV with my two-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Louie, and two cats, Tatiana and Rudy — so your pet is walking into a home that already loves animals. I take a slow, easy approach to dog care. I let dogs sniff, wander, and just be themselves, whether we’re doing a neighborhood walk, a quick potty break, or a longer trail outing. Every walk is just two dogs at most, so your pup gets real time and attention. I always send photo updates along the way so you can see how they’re doing. I welcome dogs of all sizes who are friendly with other dogs, cats, and people. For boarding, I have a large fenced backyard and keep things small and relaxed — more like a home than a kennel. I also offer occasional house sitting for dogs who are happiest in their own space. I’d love to meet your pup! Feel free to reach out to check availability or set up a meet-and-greet. Fridays are my day off, so walks are unhurried and get my full attention. For boarding, I'm home all weekend, so any dog staying with me has someone around rather than sitting alone in an empty house. Dogs staying with me have access to a large fenced backyard and are never left alone outside. Inside, I keep a calm, low-stimulation environment. My Cavalier Louie lives here full time, so any boarding dog will be introduced to him gradually and supervised until I'm confident they're comfortable together. I do a meet and greet with Louie before confirming any boarding stay. For house sitting, I follow the owner's routine as closely as possible so the dog's environment feels as normal as it can while they're away. Photo updates are sent throughout any service.
“Very nice people who clearly enjoy furbabies. So glad we found them. Thanks Dale and Karen for taking good care of our pup 🐶 We look forward to many more visits.”

About: I started taking care of neighbors' and friends' dogs, cats, fish, hamsters and birds when I was 14 years old. I love animals and wildlife of all kinds. I have been a cat and dog mom for 28 years and have had 2 leash and dog-reactive dogs (strong, 60 pound+ mutt and pit bull) so I am experienced in dealing with these situations. I have strong situational awareness with my head on a swivel when walking dogs. My senior kitty required specialized medical care at the end of her life with daily prescription medication and subcutaneous fluids. I have volunteered as a dog walker and cat snuggler at Friends of Homeless Animals rescue. I have been a social worker for 30 years and am nearing retirement from full-time employment. I would love to use my love of animals to continue working as a pet-sitter and dog walker. I am very organized, detail-oriented and will care for your pet as I care for my own. I would love to meet you and your pets to see how I can be of service. I currently work full-time Monday through Friday but am retiring at the end of September. My weekends are currently free. I have some flexibility in my weekday schedule so I may be available on a case-by-case basis for weekday dog walks that are in western Loudoun County and within a 10 minute drive of my home. I will care for your pet in your home so that they will be the most comfortable. I am available for overnight stays to keep your pet company and to provide close supervision, lots of TLC, food, water, potty breaks and anything else you may need. I am a non-smoker and non-drinker. I am very detail-oriented, responsible and dependable. As a bit of an overprotective dog mom, I have needed to entrust my dog's care to a pet sitter. My dog is my world. So I know just how valuable trust, dependability and attention to detail are. What matters to you matters to me. I will follow your instructions down to the smallest detail. I will be diligent in communicating with you, sending regular updates and photos of your pet so that you know they are safe and happy in my care.

Thanks!”

“It makes me nervous to be so far away from my fur family but Kelly took exceptional care of the boys and sent updates everyday. It was clear they were as comfortable with their visit as I was. Thank you Kelly!”

“Lori agreed to sit our pup Rowena, who we had only had for about 3.5 weeks by the time of our trip, and we were fairly nervous about leaving her so soon! However, Lori was so friendly and excited about meeting/watching her, and she and James were clearly very attentive and encouraging to her for the duration of the stay, even as she was more reserved and shy than at home. Lori communicated throughout the stay and sent a happy Weena home with a neckerchief and a bone. We hope Weena can visit again soon! Thanks so much, Lori. ??”

“First time booking, will definitely book again the next time we need dog boarding in this area! Renee had fantastic communication, was super friendly, took care with introducing our dogs, and just plain made Greta and me super happy. Highly recommend!”

“Maria is wonderful with our pup Piper. She sends me frequent updates and treats Piper like her own. She is very communicative and friendly! I am so grateful to have found Maria on Rover!”
“Christina and her family have a home and backyard that offers the full Monty of adventures for dogs -- from sniffing the bunnies to greeting the llama, pony and the goats through the fence. Our dog stayed the first time away from home with somebody he did not know, but he -- with all these attractions and other friendly dogs -- blended wonderfully into this setting. I was extremely worried about leaving him behind and am very grateful to Christina and her family to make this first time easy for George (and for me). He came home happy and content. Many thanks and we'll be back!”
