“Karlee was awesome! She left the most detailed notes and photos that I've ever seen from a sitter, and she was incredibly personable and warm. Definitely glad we found her to care for our kitties and wouldn't hesitate to book her again.”

About: I’ve owned many dogs over my lifetime. From a Min Pin to Collies, Retrievers and Pointers. I have taken care of friends and relatives animals while they were out of town. I have done long time sits (several weeks) to daily drop ins. I’m retired so I have lots of time to care for your pets. I love taking walks and getting to know each animal whether it’s to come hang out and play, feed etc or take for long or short walks. I don’t have any dogs or cats living with me now due to my landlord not allowing pet ownership. They don’t mind if I bring a dog here for short periods.
“I was nervous to leave my cat, as I have never left her with a non-family member before, but Mary was wonderful! Mary came by before the trip and was great with my cat. She updated me during the trip, and when I returned, my cat seemed very relaxed and content. I will definetely be booking again!”

“My kitty had a great time with Robert. She is typically a bit wary around males but warmed up real quick when meeting him. She also had a bit of accident when I was away and Robert went above and cleaned it up with my pet vac. He even told me to keep an eye out for her health in case it was a sign of something worse. I definitely feel comfortable leaving my feline in his care in the future.”

“Caroline was a great sitter! She took great care of our dog while we were at our wedding. She gave us peace of mind about our pup when we had a million other things going on! We would certainly use her services again.”
“Ted and his son were absolutely phenomenal! They went above and beyond to take care of my 3 cats while I was away. We can have peace of mind while traveling knowing that such great people have their eye on things back home ?”

“Danielle took wonderful care of our Tuxedo Cat iole. This is the second time Danielle has been our cat sitter, and both times iole was happy, healthy, and just right. Thank you, Danielle! :)”

“Cathie once again did an amazing job sitting my two cats for the weekend! I couldn’t be more happy with how detailed, communicative and caring she is! She really treats them like they were her own! So lucky to have found her!”

About: Hi! I’m new to Rover and am currently trying to build my portfolio. I volunteered at the Cincinnati Animal Shelter for 3 consecutive years before I moved to Indianapolis, where I volunteered and fostered at Indy Humane!! I am now in Charlottesville for the summer as I prepare for law school and my boyfriend starts his Masters at UVA. I am currently available because Rover is my main work priority this summer, allowing me flexible scheduling and consistent availability for bookings, care, and communication. About: I’ve been walking dogs and doing check ins for family pets since middle school! I am currently a pre-vet student at JMU, but I spend my summers home in Earlysville. I would say this has been a “serious” job of mine since I started highschool. I’ve spent a few days a week for the past few summers pet sitting. I’m new to the app because I’ve been so lucky to have a lot of regular clients, and was then recommended to their friends. I’m just trying to expand my client pool as much as possible:) I have 3 dogs of my own, and one of them lives with me in my college apartment. I’ve had dogs all my life, but I also currently shadow at a vets office, work with the animal health team at the RHSPCA, and volunteer at the VA wildlife center. I absolutely love all animals and would be thrilled to meet new furry friends! I will be shadowing at the vet 3 days a week, but only until 1pm. On those days I am free in the afternoon to check on your pets! Most weekends, along with days I am not doing that, I can set aside time to come see your pets:) I will readily follow whatever instructions you may have. I am used to taking dogs on walks, but also fine with just letting them out in your yard and chilling on the couch. Whatever you and your pet need, I’m sure we can make it work:)

“Julia is an exceptional dog walker. Her care of our dog is outstanding, from the length of the walks to her following what we have asked of her. And she not only understands her role, but proactively found a replacement for future times she will be unable to walk him. We could not be happier with Julia!”

“I'm very thankful to have found Emil. I work in retail and consequently work almost every weekend. Emil walks my little chihuahua for me every Saturday and Sunday. He's very reliable and I never worry that he won't be able to make it. He also responds to any requests or questions very quickly. I wholeheartedly recommend Emil if you need someone to help care for your pups!”

“Dakota connects well with our dog Patrick and is able to re-direct him when he wants to just turn around and come home. Our pup can be just one small ball of over excitement and exuberance and they handle that well. Dakota has been very reliable and always lets me know if he needs to adjust the time a bit.”

About: I have been taking care of friends, family members animals for over 2 years now while attending college. I love giving care to their furry friends while they are away. Having animals myself I understand the need to have a trustworthy caretaker while away! I look forward to become your pets new friend! I currently work 30/32 hours a week usually during the early mornings or mid afternoons. I have usually offered early morning walks or evening walks to those in need! I am able to do overnights as well, but always check to make sure the animals will be okay while I work! I have always tried to take care of the pets in the exact way the client has asked. I am able to sit in during meals, stay to get energy out, or even squirrel watch! I always try to make the animals stay in the routine that they have known!
About: I've cared for dogs by walking, hiking, taking them to dog parks, swimming all because I truly enjoy their company and respect their needs to interact and exercise. I work full-time and can accommodate requests with a days notice. I commute to the city for work so I'm flexible with location and hit all the parks and trails. I enjoy treating your dog to a new hike on the trail, swimming in the lakes or river in the summer and social gatherings at the dog parks.

About: I have 3 adopted best friends. I have experience with dogs of all different ages and temperaments. I love going for walks and hikes with my pups. I work full time in healthcare which makes me unavailable 3 days a week. My schedule varies week to week but I am more than happy to help you on my off days. I have a fenced in yard that my 3 furry friends love to run around and play. My senior dog gets multiple walks a day. Dogs are allowed on all of my furniture but will follow any house rules provided.
“Abby was great. Came over the week before to meet my dogs. She came over on time to play with the dogs in the backyard (it was too hot for a mid-day walk). The dogs looked happy in the pics and were happy when we arrived back home!”

About: When I was younger I took care of dogs for a few different people and later on helped take of my families pet cat for around two years. I’m currently unemployed and saving for college so my schedule is pretty flexible at the moment. I’m open to most hours and am available any day of the week. When I had my families cat I’d make sure any food he couldn’t eat didn’t drop on the floor and I’d make sure he had clean water/clean food. I’d brush him and stuff like that. When I was dog sitting I’d take them for walks, when we were home I’d make sure they’d eat and are comfortable.
“Catherine has been walking our puppy 3 times a week and we are so happy we found her! She is incredibly knowledgeable and professional. She provides detailed information about every walk. She also works on training which I consider above and beyond. I highly recommend working with her!!”

About: I have a large family dog that I have been responsible for since I was about 10 years old. She has since gotten older so I have experience with a senior dog and giving any sorts of medication (and the peanut butter necessary to get her to take it). I am no stranger to having to clean up any accidents in the house so that is a non-issue for me. I am also open to taking care of other animals like rodents or turtles or other cage creatures. I am a true and passionate animal lover! My schedule is very flexible at the moment. I am happy to give as much or little time needed for the pets. I can figure out any scheduling and details necessary with clients. I am never loud coming into a home. I always let the pets come to me unless they are hiding on purpose. I take care instructions very seriously and will follow everything exactly and will reach out if I have questions about the best way I can care for your fur friend.
“Fantastic! I could not imagine a better experience. Dependable, considerate, thorough. Tons of pictures and updates and my dog became genuinely fond of Lissette. The best dog walker of all time.”

About: I’ve been dog-sitting for three neighbors for over five years and have also provided cat care. I own two Great Danes and previously had a cat, so I’m comfortable with large breeds, daily routines, and attentive care. I’m patient, experienced, and confident caring for both energetic pets and seniors. As a college student, I plan my pet care around my class schedule and have plenty of availability outside of class times. I’m free most mornings, evenings, and weekends. My classes are spread out during the day, which allows me to provide consistent check-ins, walks, feedings, and quality time while still maintaining a reliable routine for each pet. I provide care exclusively in my clients’ homes, where pets are most comfortable and routines stay consistent. I prioritize safety by carefully following all care instructions, securing doors and gates, and maintaining a calm, clean environment. I respect each home and communicate regularly with updates so owners feel confident their pets are safe and well cared for.

About: Hi there! My name is Mary and I'm a lifelong dog lover with years of hands-on experience caring for pups of all shapes, sizes, and personalities. Fun fact—my very first job was walking dogs around my neighborhood! From the start, I knew working with animals would always be part of my life. I currently have a sweet and spunky 10-year-old Cavalier King Charles mix who keeps me on my toes—and on the couch for cuddles as well! I also grew up with lovable labs and helped raise my sister’s energetic Cavapoo, so I’m no stranger to high-energy dogs, senior pups, or those who need a little extra TLC. During the school year, I work as a middle school Language Arts teacher, but my summer schedule is wide open—perfect for giving your dog the attention, playtime, and care they deserve. Whether your pup loves long walks, belly rubs, or just some calm companionship, I’m happy to match their vibe. I’d love to meet your furry friend and make sure they feel right at home while you’re away! I’m a middle school teacher and I’m currently on summer break, so I’ll have plenty of time to hang out with the pups at home. I have a fenced in backyard with plenty of room to play fetch, plus a little doggo who loves to play and snuggle, so your pup will have plenty of love and attention. :)

Heather knows how to deal with my quirky dork of a pup. She was patient with her and made her feel like she was home. My girl is tired and happy. I will definitely use Heather in the future for my boarding needs.”

About: I’ve always had animals in my younger life from cats to dogs, and even though I only have a cat I continue to love dogs. My current housing situation allows me to share dog sitting and caring of his clients dogs (ages 9 months to 14 years) for the last ten years. Since then I have asked my neighbors for tending to the needs of their dogs be it from a 5 mile walk on and off leash to a 100 yard potty break in addition to giving medications. I’m currently working part time three days a week and an occasional Saturday, so I have the time to care and interact for your furry friend. I live in a neighborhood with easy access to the Rivanna trails and a road trip access to a farm with woods in Earlysville for running in fields. I also have a very tolerant cat who actually enjoys dogs staying with me because she’s learned that visiting dogs often get a treat she’s earned one too. My house has hardwood floors on the first floor throughout access to the carpeted lower level is through a door. The dog would have free range of the house while we were at home and unless he/she is accustomed to be crated.
“Angel seemed very happy to stay with Indira for a week. Indira was flexible and accommodating with my work travel and her place was clean, organized, and a good calm space for my pup. She reached out when Angel was having a hard time and was able to resolve the issue quickly with some feedback. Would definitely use her again.”

“Yana is amazing! She took such great care of my dog and sent daily pictures and updates which gave me peace of mind that he was happy and healthy while I was away. Highly recommend her!”

“Alexandra and Logan were wonderful with my (sometimes overly) curious terrier, Eddie! I am always concerned about Eddie escaping to chase an animal, and they took my concerns seriously and took steps to ensure that wouldn't happen. Their fence setup was great too - the fenced-in yard wraps all the way around the house, so even if a dog slipped out of the house, they would still be in the yard. On top of that, they sent lots of pictures and were so kind to Eddie. He didn't want to leave!”
