“John was wonderful with our elderly dog. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. John was above and beyond our expectations, he even gave us some new ideas to keep our dog more active. I don’t think our dog was ready to leave, thought he was on vacation too. I highly recommend John you won’t be disappointed.”

“Jody is so good with dogs. She has her hands full between her own animals plus those she helps, but she does it so gracefully. She took the time to introduce all the dogs with me being able to watch which eased my worries. The dogs all listen to her. Shes a dog whisperer. She sent photos of Maci and I enjoyed getting to watch my girl socialize in the videos. My pup was so tired when I got her home. A tired pup is a good pup. Thank you for keeping her happy and safe!”

“First visit! I really appreciated the communication and coordination, so easy to work with. Hops (the dog) came home happy and healthy. Theresa took great care of her; I would book again and refer her!”

“Shannon and her daughter Hannah were terrific with our Mama Dog! I got lots of wonderful pictures during our trip and Shannon was always a great communicator, before and during Mama Dog's stay. I felt so comfortable leaving her at her house and will definitly”

“This is our first time using Rover. Samantha and her family took great care of Gus! She responded to texts quickly, and we loved the pictures. He came home exhausted and happy!”

“Maribel was the best caregiver. Knowledgeable, always present, sweet, active, she is an animal person with plenty of space and experience. She was flexible with us and very responsive when we reached out a couple of times. She also sent us photos of how our little pup was doing, which was important for my mom who was away from her companion for 10 days. We'll certainly reach out to Maribel if she's available before our next trip. Best experience!”

“Mac is very nice and Gemma loved being there and playing with her dog. She sent regular check ups with us and sending pictures. Gemma is actually missing her best friend!!! She is either tired or missing her friend due to she has been sleeping alot. I will definitely bring Gemma back. She has very nice and quite place for any dog to play.”

“This was my first time using Rover and I was extremely nervous. Lydia was amazing with my pups , she sent updates, videos and pictures the whole time. We will definitely be using her for all our trips out of town from now on. I would give 10 stars if I could!!!”

“Darcy had an amazing time!! He loved being there and playing with their other dogs!! Everyone was so nice and friendly! We will definitely use her again when we are in the area next!”

“After a good meet and greet, we used Penny and Evan for our first ever Rover experience with our dog, Libby. She is a sweet, high energy dog. Penny and Evan had a fun week with her. We appreciated the picture updates and knew she was well taken care of throughout the week! Thank you!”

“Both of our dogs loved Ashley and her family instantly! She and her family were so sweet, and we felt completely comfortable leaving them in her care! She was great about sending pictures and keeping me updated about how they were doing! We will definitely use her again and highly recommend her!”

“Taylor kept our Golden Retriever for the week of Thanksgiving with very little notice. She was very friendly and played with our dog and sent us pictures to keep posted on his daily adventures. We will definitely trust Taylor to care for our beloved pet in the future!”

“Thanks & praise to Donna for taking such great care of my rambunctious 2 year old yorkie spaniel mix, Murphy. The pictures she sent showed my contented boy making himself at home.”

“She is someone who is incredibly devoted to animals; her dedication and love are boundless. I had the absolute best experience knowing that Mia was staying in a home filled with plenty of attention, patience, and love. Karlie is always in constant communication, too. She has dogs of her own, and they truly made Mia's stay much more fun, as Mia is super friendly. Mia returned home ready to sleep and rest after days filled with fun and endless running around—in fact, she didn't even want to leave, given how wonderfully she had been treated at Karlie's house!”

“Sidney did an incredible job with my German Shepherd! She sent pictures and checked in regularly to put me at ease. If you’re in Roanoke, Sidney as your pet sitter is the best choice you can make!!”

“I was so pleased to find Kim on Rover for a last minute booking. Every interaction was welcoming and professional and I was confident my Charlie would be cared for like he was her own dog. Throughout his stay I got multiple updates and pictures to let me know he was having a blast, eating well, going on walks, and getting along with his playmates. Kim was very accommodating to our flight delay on pickup and I was touched by the parting gift bag Charlie received. I will definitely rebook when I need a sitter again!”

“Valerie has watched my kitty, Sammy, three times now. She shows up as promised and sends me photos of my sweet boy. She doesn’t hesitate to contact me with questions or to reassure that Sammy is fine. I’d recommend Valerie to anyone looking for a reliable pet sitter.”

About: In addition to my Vet Tech training and work in vet clinics, I've been the proud "Mom" to many feline companions over the years. Until about 2 years ago, we had 5 adopted cats that grew up together until the last one passed at 21 years old in 2024! We have since adopted 2 senior cats who have brought a whole new dynamic into our lives. (Friends tell me they want to return in the next life as one of my cats because of the high priority and extraordinary love I give to each and every one.) One of the things I appreciate most about cats is their sense of independence and unique personalities. If I'm asked to care for your felines, I promise to treat them as I would my very own.

“We couldn’t be any happier with the love and care Erica gave to our two dogs today. She sent lots of pictures, reviewed her visits, left a sweet card and brought them a toy each. We had no worries that they were looking bed and well cared for! I would highly recommend her!”

“Siara is great! She has taken care of our cats twice now and I know we’re always in good hands with her. She’s Kind, very friendly, prompt and communicates beautifully while caring for our cats. We will most definitely call her again.”

“Nicole was SO wonderful and did an excellent job of taking care of our cats. They are usually very nervous with new people, but they warmed up to Nicole super fast! She sent lots of pictures during the drop in visits and also made sure our cat took his medicine. We were so comfortable while being on an out of state trip knowing Nicole was stopping by and taking care of them! 10/10 would recommend and will rebook in the future :)”

“We could not have asked for a better experience with Kimberly! She’s communicative and flexible, and Wilson is happy and tired after a fun day of playing! We look forward to many more fun days for Wilson with her!”

“Penny and Evan were great with our little “high anxiety” fur baby. During the “meet and greet” Penny had us come in and take him straight to the fenced back yard where he could sniff around and go to the bathroom. Knowing about his anxiety, once we went back inside, Penny never tried to pet him, she just allowed him to get used to her being in the room. She was a very calming presence for him. Evan likewise was patient with him and allowed him the time it took to settle and get comfortable. We are thrilled to have found Penny and Even and the bonus is that they live about 4 minutes from our house! We have already booked the next daycare appointment!”

“Marah is the best dogsitter on this app. She will treat your dog like it's hers. My dog loves going to Marah's and she is always tired and happy when I pick her up. Marah is extremely friendly and makes sure that your dog is well taken care of. I never have to worry about my dog with her because she will have the best of care! I would give Marah a 10 out 5 if I could.”

“Leslie was fantastic and we have plans to use her in the future as well. She was willing to meet up before hand to see if her dog would get a long with mine as well as meet her. It was an instant hit. She took some pictures and sent them to us and her dog is lovely and gets along great with mine. I have already recommended her to others. Thank you for your understanding and great communication. I look forward to using your services again and knowing my pup is taken care of and treated great!!”

“Both Taylor and Jessica are super nice people and very accommodating. We used their services for our dog and they kept her for us while we were out of town. We would definitely use them again!”

My journey in animal care began long before I became a registered nurse. That unique combination of veterinary training and healthcare experience allows me to provide attentive, responsible care for your beloved pets. What Sets Me Apart: - Former Kennel Manager with hands-on experience caring for dogs of all sizes and temperaments - Extensive experience with cats, including shy, senior, and special-needs pets - Registered Nurse accustomed to careful observation, medication management, and responding calmly to unexpected situations - Formal Veterinary Technician Training with education in animal health, behavior, and basic medical care - Experience caring for a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, ferrets, and other small pets Services Available Dog sitting Cat sitting Daily visits and companionship Walks and exercise Feeding and medication administration Puppy and senior pet care Vacation and weekend coverage Photo and text updates for pet parents I understand that pets are family. My goal is to keep them safe, comfortable, and loved while giving you confidence and peace of mind. Professional. Experienced. Compassionate. Contact me to schedule a meet-and-greet and learn how I can help care for your furry family members. I am currently semi-retired, so I have flexibility in my schedule to hopefully meet your needs. I like to try to keep pets in their regular routine while their owners are away, so I will do my best to work with you on that. Although we have space to care for your pets in our home/land, we don't have a fenced in property and I wouldn't want to stress my own pets with "strangers" in the house. (I also feel that keeping a pet in their home environment is much less stressful for them than relocating them.) I'd be happy to come to your home to and provide quality care to your four-legged (or less) family members. I have owned my own home my entire adult life, so I will honor yours as if it were my own.

About: I have several years of experience with both dogs and cats. The largest dog I've handled was 120 lbs. I'm down to cuddle or go on a walk, whatever your pet needs. I am a college student so I am flexible daily and can come by your house when needed. I am free on weekends and most weeknights. I would love if you can give me specifics on your pet's routine and any behavior I should know about. I have some experience with oral medication if your pet ever needs it.
About: I have been raising and caring for a variety of animals for over 25 years! Having experience with all kinds of animals, I know the importance of meeting the needs of each animal and giving it the love and care it deserves and desires. I have several families that reach out to me when they are planning a trip so that I can care for their pets while they are away. I understand the importance of maintaining the pet owners routine, commands, and affection with their pets to help reduce anxiety and stress while they are away. My goal is to love their pets as if they are my own. I have cared for our own dogs as seniors and have experience with failing body functions and know how to administer medications and assist the animal with getting up and moving around. I also have much experience with puppies since I breed Australian Shepherds and care for the puppies from the time they are born until they are at an appropriate age and health standard to go to their new families. I am so excited to meet many other pet families in our area and love on your pet so you can feel comfortable and at peace any time you need to travel and your pet has to stay behind. It’s hard enough to say good-bye, so having peace of mind on how they will be cared for while you are away can make a good trip a GREAT one!! I am available most days of the week for 24/7 care since we are a homeschooling family and I am a stay at home mom. Pets are allowed in our home as long as they get along well with other pets and children. I do have an in-ground fence and collars that I can use to teach your pet to stay in our yard. I also have two nice size kennels that give dogs plenty of room to wander inside and outside the kennel walls.
“Laiken has truly been wonderful for my dog and I. He is a puppy, and trying to learn a routine and schedule and she has gone above and beyond to help me. I work night shift and she helps make it work for me. I truly have found i can trust her in my home and with my dog. She updates me with everything she does with him. I will be continuing to have her hang out with my dog as long as she will be available to. I would recommend her to anyone.”

About: I have a young black lab. Must like other dogs. I have been around animals my entire life. Growing up we had to bottle feed 3 kittens who lost their mother and I had an 80lb Retreiver/Sheppard mix and a Miniature Dachshund. I have never met an animal that didn't immediately trust me. I enjoy the company of animals and I feel I am very intune with them as well. I work but I can always make time for the needs of your pet because I understand that animals need certain things from me to be happy and satisfied. I currently don't have any pets in my home but I have a medium fenced in yard and I am located near the Greenway and my house has a sidewalk in the front and an alley in the back which is perfect for strolls around the neighborhood.

“Lawdy was great to work with! She watched our two dogs for almost a full week, after being asked very last minute, and she gave them the love and attention they needed while she had them. We also had our return flight canceled because of the Microsoft crash (July 2024) and we needed to get home, so we rented a car to drive home instead. It took us an unexpected extra day to get home to pick up our fur-babies, and she made it so easy and stress-free. We would definitely recommend Lawdy for your dogs. 💕”
